Spanning all size classes, characters like Blurr, Bludgeon, Cyclonus and, most importantly, Soundwave will be joining the cast sometime in the future! The toys also have some interesting new gimmicks, such as Activator Combiner Soundwave, who comes with a Laserbeak who turns into a small weapon, with "Deploying Battle Cannons". This calls back to the similar Minicon Deployers that are currently included in this line. Take a look at all of the images of the new toys down below and tell us in the comments what you think of these new incarnations of classic Transformer Characters!

While this all looks majorly badass, I'm not sure exactly how I feel about it. RiD 2015 used to mostly be it's own thing with the recent Starscream harkening back to the past so much being a big surprise, but what made it so great is that it was unique. Now it feels like the toyline's starting to overflow with G1 influence when before it was packed with originality and new characters. Don't get me wrong, I still prefer these G1 characters to what RiD has put out and I'm excited for most of these figures - especially that Soundwave holy shit - but... I dunno. It's starting to feel like RiD's uniqueness is starting to fade and mesh in with everything else.

And I agree Kurona. Although these look fun, I wouldn't mind the line staying the course of originality it was on.

Sigma Magnus wrote:The one article said Hasbro is making designs inspired by G1...that's not all that new, and Titans Return is a much better example of that...
I was groaning at the article the whole way through. Acting as if this is the first time there's been full-on G1 influence... meanwhile, there is literally a direct remake of the G1 Soundwave toy in a Titans Return Leader box, original alt-mode (or at least a close approximation of it), cassette partners and all.
"The warrior class features some of the largest figures in the RiD line" oh come on

Starscream
Bludgeon
Blurr
Soundwave
Twinferno
Skywarp
Legion
Blurr
Cyclonus
Starscream
Of note is that the Warror Starscream is a regular retail release, and thus may have some changes from the TRU Clash version. As for Bludegon, I'm going to assume he's a redeco of Blastwave, as I don't see any of the others revealed earlier.

And I agree Kurona. Although these look fun, I wouldn't mind the line staying the course of originality it was on.
The 3 we saw in new york arent there so I am assuming these all come after. That means that we will first get Blasstwave, White Drift and Stormshot. So far they have been releasing 3 new warriors per wave, so I dont know how this will all play out. So much for those who thought this line was dead is growing more and more and giving us more stuff. I love it. I still want a warrior hamerstrike but this is all good stuff. I dont know if I will get that skywarp or not but all the rest of these warriors are definite buys.
And I find it cool how taht Soundwave has the same body type as Prime Rumble and Frenzy. It will be a cool dynamic to have him stand in the middle of the two with them acting like his goons. About Soundwave, man, that guy's agent must have been working overtime.

...so, the new toys look cool. Wonder how Soundwave and Cyclonus will factor into the show, if at all.
Posted by Kurona on November 10th, 2016 @ 1:16pm CST
Cyclonus too considering he's a new mold. I'd expect Skywarp and Bludgeon too but since they're easy redecoes of past figures, won't be surprised if they don't appear. Then again, Soundwave probably needs team fillers, and there don't appear to be many Decepticon toys not currently arrested and taken back to Cybertron...

These have got to be some of the best-looking toys to come out of RID's toyline. Looks like Soundwave's getting a major upgrade if this means he's making yet another return to the series.
Also, Blurr, eh? Are we finally getting a Rescue Bots crossover?

Kurona wrote:Soundwave will definitely be a big thing in the show; probably the new 'con leader. You don't just get a whole slew of toys like that, all original molds and don't appear.
Cyclonus too considering he's a new mold.
But he's recycling the engineering of Starscream and Windblade. It could go either way, but yeah I think he will be on the show. Looking forward to the warrior toy.

I think he means in RID. So far all of the cross overs with Prime/RID characters have been on Rescue Bots for both the toys and cartoon, this is the first time we have appears to be a Rescue Bot in the RID toy line.
I really like that RID is fixing one of my major complaints in that the Prime character designs didn't make sense as coming from the Cybertron games. Now we're finally seeing designs in RID for Starscream and Soundwave that actually look like a cross between the two styles.
I wonder if Starscream's final figure will have the accurate gray shoulders? Doesn't really make sense to keep the blue shoulders from the Clash figure.

I ignore that the alligned continuity is a thing so I didnt even think about it. I saw that Soundwave and said, well that takes from a few sources including FOC Soundwave, and left it at that. But this is quite literally Soundwave taking hint of his own previous body in that "same" continuity. When I thought that continuity thread was dead at this point, they bring it all back.

The others? Meh. RiD's been so damn uninteresting with the villain choices. The show gives us crazy 3-armed train-snakes and Spider-Combiners and Ped, but the toyline just goes with the plain humanoid ones...

Maybe. But those arent G1 characters so they didnt work with this story. I feel they wanted to tell collectors that this line was for them too.
This is basically the biggest story ever done for RID toys since they existed. They always seemed like a secondary line as far as marketting to collectors was concerned (con presence, reveals, ect). So I can see why the theme of this news was to only show G1 centric characters. Thats also why they clearly missed Legion Springload who is also coming out. The Spring date is super odd though. I Spring we already have the new aforementioned warriors, and all those crash combiners. Now we have 5 more warriors?!

The good news though is that him being the big bad means we will probably get a warrior figure from him.
Also, am I the only one who is not feeling that seeker mold as being for anyone else than Starsceam (unlike the WFC or even the CW version)? Its like when they gave the coronation gear to Sunstorm as well. It just doesnt fit.

Yeah, it makes sense they're making Seekers out of it; but it's one of those times where a Starscream mold just fits his personality and his personality alone. I felt the same about TFP; I always saw that as a Starscream mold - not a Seeker mold.

Bludgeon actually looks fairly cool in robot mode, and his tank mode is weird but in a good way.
Twinferno is... I don't even have words. How did that alt mode even happen, and why do his flames make me think of Bionicle fire sword parts?
I can't imagine they'd have this Blurr be Rescue Bots Blurr (pretty sure that street only really goes one way, plus this is colored like G1 Blurr), so I hope he doesn't make it to the show. It'd be a mean thing to do to small children and people who try to keep track of continuity.
Skywarp because OF COURSE. There's probably gonna be a Thundercracker too, maybe an Acid Storm or Sunstorm or whatever too if they really feel like milking it.
Thanks for the spoiler, Cyclonus's bio. And this toy is probably the biggest G1 rehash of all.
Heh, they couldn't send Soundwave all the way back to G1, so they settled for sending him back to WFC. At least he kept his Prime-style head. And it actually looks pretty cool.
