Possible First Look at Transformers Siege Ratchet

Wow, siege Springer continues to look like a piece of corn on Thrilling 30 Springer's turd. The decepticon voyagers continue to be the only decent figures in the whole line.

Luckily, it looks like I won't have to spend any more money on siege figures. I showed my kids the pictures, and told them they can get these, or more Lego sets.

They chose Legos. In the past, I'd have been sad, but I'm so disappointed by Hasbro's recent and current line ups, I'm happy not to give them more money.

Thanks Nexus, glad to know newsing this wasnt a complete waste (hate when that happens). The fact that the comic has a red cross is a pretty clear indication that this card would be the more representative deco for the toy, since Transformers toys can't use the red cross anymore.

I was hoping that this find was at a Walmart store. Well hopefully they will hit Walmart's soon.

Anyone else hoping that Brunt will be recolored into a Slammer for Metroplex? I know he wouldn't necessarily be the "perfect" Slammer, but I think he would be close enough to fill out Metroplex's minions. Maybe in a 2 pack with a redecoed Sideswipe as Scamper?

True but considering how Galaxy OP and others hit shelves ahead of the scheduled release (I think) dates I thought I could be a bit hopeful.

And that's assuming they actually appear by July. Alot of stores end up not carrying new waves for at least a month, if not more.

It's both. It's a trademark and hasbro doesnt have the right to use it for the reasons given above:

This logo is trademarked by the organizations, who enforce the use of their marks heavily these days. Modern Transformers toys can no longer sport the logo, as it could be considered an abuse of the symbol's meaning. The red cross symbol was in fact incorrectly used on all of the aforementioned toys to begin with, since the symbol represents humanitarian organizations that normally don't operate regular urban ambulances.

Nothing says Scamper, Slammer, and Six Gun all need to be the same size class. Let's just be happy with a retool/repaint of Brunt into Slammer.

Pretty sure one of the cyberverse figures with the vehicle armor has slammer covered so I'd rather see brunt repainted silver (battlestar galacticish) and maybe even have a red handprint on him

I kinda want a gold repaint of sixgun so his hulk-fist mode could look like an infinity gauntlet

Yeah but nothing is stopping anyone from using that Sideswipe as Scamper so it works for everyone.
Hasbro seems to have stopped with doing redecos of characters who kinda maybe work and now just focus on redecos no one would have issue with. Which I much preffer.

People took issue with Slamdance being made from Skytread since it means his components lack cassette modes and inverts his robot mode deco.

From my vantage point it seemed there was more happiness than disdain. It also felt like a better effort to me for a redeco. But yeah, could go either way.

Thank you. Yes, Scamper is already covered, and Metroplex's guys were never the same size originally anyway.

However, I really don't see that fitting. Slammer looked much more like a conventional tank than Brunt did, so there wouldn't really be any resemblance. The Classics Deluxe or Universe Legends Megatron molds would be much more suited to Slammer IMO (not that a reuse of either during WFC is very likely):


Plus, with Six-Gun we already have a Metroplex minion who becomes a Weaponizer, so why do we need another one?

Personally I think it would be much more fitting to redeco Brunt either as a Cylon (like blackeyedprime suggested) or in a somewhat different purple with gold accents and turquoise spots to reference Gigastorm, who was cheated of his own Brunt redeco back in the day:

I finally got hold of Ultra Magnus on Friday, and I'm liking him:





I look forward to Wave 3. Springer looks very promising (although it's a bit disappointing he doesn't have a transforming sword. Hm...), Thundercracker would be a nice addition to my CHG Decepticon ranks, Brunt would be especially nice given someone who will be joining my collection very soon, Refraktor is "Shut up and take my money!" thrice over, and despite having Generations Red Alert I might get the new one, if only to free him up for customization.

I want to know if I'm the only one crazy that will buy 3 Refraktor instead of one for being more classic cartoon accurate

Seriously, though, SIEGE Springer's greens and yellow are closer to the original G1 toy in terms of brightness or "saturation" than the G1 cartoon and movie character models, which were duller, more desaturated tones. Brighter colors work better on toys. This has been Hasbro's method of operation for decades. Toys are more attractive to casual buyers on the shelf, especially kids, when they're bright and colorful. The recent in-hand photos we got may be a bit over-saturated, hence the blue coming out in the "gray" legs much more strongly than in previous stock photos. The colors on Siege Springer, minus the gray, look to be pretty on point to those of Thrilling 30 Springer from 5 years ago.

True story...One of my friends bought his 10 year old son PotP Inferno, because he is a firefighter, and of course our kids are friends and both like Transformers. My son had to explain to his son about the Combiner gimmick, (because of course they didn't read the instructions) . Of course I got an angry response from my friend because now his son said he wanted 4 deluxes to finish the combiner. They ended up getting a Dinobot, Jazz, and 2 Terrorcons... Parents for sure buy generations Optimus Prime toys for their kids. That's why they are all sold out while Megatron stays on shelves.

You should have, just so he would have to go out and buy the other Terrorcons, and 2 more limbs for Inferno. He doesn't need to get Grimlock, because Volcanicus is a turd.

Refraktor is definitely welcome among most fans I'd imagine. Coincidentally though, I'll stick with the Botcon 2016 legends Trio. They fit into my existing Combiner Theme, plus they do have a fan made camera mode so I get a double win there . Still, for every fan who wants 3 Siege Refraktors, I don't think there will be a supply issue.

They also frequently were depicted as MORE than just three nearly identical robots, especially to fill out the background in battle scenes.

The original toyline called the three robot components of Reflector "Spectro," "Spyglass," and "Viewfinder." Viewfinder is the one that looks most like the G1 cartoon model. Spectro is the red toy robot, and Spyglass is the blue toy robot.

Moreover, the cartoon was very inconsistent on its portrayal of the three. Most of the time the three would speak in unison as one, while other times an individual one (who lacked the central guy's tummy circle) would be seen by itself. One anomalous occasion had a fourth member not only speak with his own unique non-Chris Latta voice and beg for his life against the others, but that fourth one was also sent to Cybertron through the space bridge, becoming separate from the main three by a span of lightyears and still functioning just like them. Another weird instance once had the main three shown to be pressed up against each other, in which case the two who lacked the tummy circle disappeared into the central guy's body, as though he was the only "real" one while the other two were projected duplicates a la the Insecticons' clones. This weird instance never happened again afterward.

One attempt to explain how there were so many Reflectors in the cartoon came in Fun Pub's Wings Universe fiction, in which Reflector was said to have been the leader of a subgroup of identical-looking Decepticons called the Photons.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the photos are oversaturated. It happens sometimes, even with the alleged professionals who take Hasbro's stock photos.
