Whelp, guess I'll begrudgingly "good enough" finish my RiD2015 Seekers after all.
I have been eyeballing Starscream at Target and this give me a reason to check out the mold.
I don't know why but this line confuses me. Almost bought a legion class figure until I figured out they were the ones that don't fully transform. WTH?
The warriors look pretty good. Is Shockwave the one everyone's talking about? Almost bought him, hesitated and he was the only one gone the next day.

Ah, explains that. He did look super cool with his "angry eye". Not really filling the bot on his back walker tank though.william-james88 wrote:Yes, shockwave is the one people find serviceable and the only one selling out in stores.
Tomatoes, potahtoes - same thing.ZeroWolf wrote:There isn't any Legion class with this line, what you saw and thankfully avoided was the scouts. Also no surprise there with Shockwave, I think everyone knows now that he's the best in the line.
Oh that's right, this line has that spring loaded action figure thing. And all I want is a complete set of *insert universe here* Seekers. Screamer does look cool and if there is any attack gimmick it doesn't seem to compromise the figures, at least at a glance.ZeroWolf wrote:To do that they would have to retool it enough to do the attack gimmick
Everything I saw looked pretty nice with nice sculpting and good paint apps. IIRC, they are a few cyberbucks less than the mainline figures. I'll be cherry picking from the line for sure, you know if PotP and the special editions stop sucking my wallet dry.

Supposedly that's what we're getting, but they're likely tetra jets like from the cartoon if you're OK with that.

Should we tell him guys?
He has has 0 leg articulation, both are just solid pieces.

You know the irony? All of Shockwave's articulation is a happy accident since the spider tank mode requires all limbs to be able to bend. The rest has barely past the bare minimum for transformation, and in Starscream's case, the legs are a solid chunk for stability when using the gimmick I'm guessing.

Just in case not, here it is:
Unless the thing is on clearance, I will never buy. Once again, it's just a bot with a jetpack.
At least, Grimlock have something original going on.

Considering they're right next to POTP deluxes which were (they've been reduced to $29, but they were $35) which are much better looking figures and are slightly more complex, yeah, ridiculous doesn't quite cover it.

I saw some "deluxes" and "ultras" in person and holy crap... Those are Happy Meal toys passing of as legit deluxes and voyagers. A shame.
So far, only the big ultimate class Optimus and Megatron are what I may consider genuine transformers of quality. 40$CAN (one million $ in AU) for a big "leader" figure that is good looking on all sides, have a fun gimmick, and have Cybertron-like plastics is just perfect. How the hell the smaller figures don't have the same level of quality?

Not even a whole bot, just the front of a bot. That's got to be the most hollow thing they've ever tried to pass off as a mass retail transforming figure. Even Cyber Series puts those to shame at roughly the same size, same articulation, and almost half the price.

Cyberverse is not Generations, nor is Warrior Class the same as Deluxe Class (or for that matter, the same as RiD 2015 Warrior Class sadly), and was never meant to be. Cyberverse (and the Bumblebee Movie figures) are gimmicky toys first and foremost, not the high-end articulated figures we've come to expect.
Taking an example from the Bumblebee Movie, the regular line is focused around the Energon Igniter gimmick, while the more articulated figures for the fans are separated and part of the Studio Series, which falls under Generations. With Cyberverse's Action Attack gimmick for its line, we shouldn't really expect anything high-end until for some reason Hasbro announces a Generations line-up after the cartoon takes off

I agree 100%. This gives warriors a bad name and i hate how this reinforces the false conception that the RID warriors were simplified toys to unaware fans. None of the CW Seekers were exclusives, neither were the legends seekers or the FOC seekers. Heck, Starscream and Skywarp both got releases in RiD and TC didn't and both Scream and Warp were regular retail.
There really isn't any evidence whatsoever this would have been an exclusive

I think he's thinking more in line with the TRU exclusive RID "Clash of the Transformers" which was where a lot of the more random repaints turned up. But I'd argue that more of them showed up in the main line, including retools into new characters like Thermidor.

I just got the Ultra (I think) Megatron. The one that turns into a muscle train with a big cannon. I love his alt-mode and I also dig his robot mode.
I will try to figure out to make his canon removable.
Only complaint is removable cannon should be standard and I wish his head could turn and the complaint I ALWAYS have. Megatron & Optimus should be voyager sized.
But I think he's a great figure, price 40 euro's was good (compared to The Last Knight voyagers being 42 euro's here people)
I got Starscream last weekend because I saw that there will be repaints of more seekers and my favorite Slip Stream (sucks that she's the non-transformer tiny scout version. Fingers crossed she'll also be Warrior class)
I don't like the gimmick, I will glue his wings shut and I will put some stuff in the waist so that it doesn't turn easily. Overall I do like the mode. Fake chest is my pet peeve. But I find it serviceable.
Also got Shockwave, I love this guy. Yes he's a bit hollow and his gimmick gun is kind of in the way. But he's a solid looking Shockwave guy. I love the energon veins pink. I love me some spider-tank. He doesn't need a great alt-mode for me. I love this guy. I might buy more and have him be the Voyager Battalion Shockwave's soldiers (the bigger Shockwave is on his way from the US)
Question:
Anybody else bothered that Thundercracker has the same headsculpt as Starscream? Him and Acid Storm should have more stern, masculine square heads according to the artwork. I wish they had those blocky heads instead of just the sleeker feminine head. Anyway tiny nitpick.
Is Acid Storm a women by the way? In the artwork he or she has lipstick. Would be cool to have a beefy square headed female seeker.
Wishes for the line: Get a Slipstream Warrior painted version, and don't you dare forget Skywarp Hasbro!
I also would like Shadow Striker to get a Warrior version (I think that's a female to right?)
That's all, Siege is the thing that's going to kill my wallet next year. After Combiner Wars, Titans Return and Power of the Primes did before.
I really can't complain. I'll finally be getting my true-torso Ironhide which I wanted for years.

I wouldn't call it a tiny nitpick, Hasbro is being very lazy with a character that's appearing prominently in advertizing. There's no reason why they couldn't have at the very least pre-tooled a new head and cockpit. Only character I can think of in RID that got it this bad was Blastwave, a straight repaint (pre-paint?) of Bludgeon.

It's just a gut feeling I have based on 15 years or so experience. Thus far the warrior Starscream toy isn't proving to be popular and nobody has ever caused a stampede over Thundercracker. Except for me, that was a long time ago.

So far no exclusives have been announced or even leaked. I think they're gonna keep the focus on the Bumblebee movie and Generations with those. It's not like RiD 2015 had a lot of them, just the TRU Clash of the Transformers series and the Target One-Step Multi-pack. That's it, no joke.

Also, the crazy thing about Blastwave is that the animation model was a redeco of Megatronus, so he should have shared that body rather than Bludgeon's
