I only really like the twins in Icecream van mode..., looks like that's the one I'm getting. I wonder what Blaze Master's alt will ook like. I mean, it's going to be a helicopter, but what make / type.

That's a fair representation. Although I eventually ended up getting almost all of the Beast Wars line because they grew on me....and I don't see that happening with these guys.

And you know what I prefer Swerve and Dead End. Better colour schemes. Keen to see swerves head as Dead end got a re-mold. Might just pop the head off Universe Sideswipe and see if that fits.
but can I also say
Wheel Feet Wheel Feet Wheel Feet Tiny Feet Tiny Feet and gun hands.

It seems a bit weird to me for the same name to be used twice on two totally different designs.

i have to strongly agree with you here, although it is odd that were seeing blaze master before springer.
also i don't care if it says swerve that's my sideswipe... now i just have to pray that he has the same head(or a more g1 sideswipe looking head!)
and jolt looks alot better than i expected, kinda reminds me of g1 skids. damn you hasbro and your name swapping!

How could they do that to Arcee!!??
I wish they would have made this some unheard of character than to make such an iconic character into a disfigured figure!
As I said before, a lot of this line is looking dark, distorted and depressing!
So far, my TF2 budget will be for tickets, the game and the DVD...

loving Swerve... was hoping for a red repaint... he's totally gonna be my Sideswipe! and Blazemaster Totally looks exactly like the legends springer, and duel rotors suggests an osprey alt-mode... odd that springer would be a deluxe though (I'm assuming this guy is a repaint)

Given that the figure turns into a TV news helicopter, and given the semicircular attachments for the rotor blades, I think Hasbro somehow managed to get one four-bladed rotor to split in two.

rabstanz wrote:why did they repaint the corvette red and call it swerve?? I could never understand why he was given a sports car update in other continuities. Wouldnt it been better if they called it a g1 redeco of Sideswipe, like they did with Jazz in the first movie (not that they released that repaint here in lil ol NZ)
I totally agree with you on this. Something I find interesting - they do a repaint of 'Swipe and opt for Swerve? Why not Sunstreaker? To me, that would have been the logical choice as the first repaint. Are they maybe saving Sunstreaker for TF3? Now that would be freaking excellent!

The Ice Cream twins are silly, but I think I'm actually more likely to buy them than I am to buy the other versions - the green and red ones. I'm curious to see what the alt mode looks like; I assume they combine, which would be cool (no pun intended).

What exactly is Ravages alt mode supposed to be anyway?. Looks good though.
Jolt looks like he will be on my to get list.
I don't like Arcee very much, I will only get her if the combined mode does look good.

I'm really enjoying this line. As robots, the TF's are able to do things that normal humanoids can't normally do. Arcee looks like she is able to rotate 360 degrees at the waist, allowing for different firing angles while maintaining forward movement. The wheels for their feet is also a logical extension. Humanoids can only move as fast as their legs can pump back and forth; with wheels as feet, they can dramatically increase their speed and agility. The perfect example there are roller skates/blades and ice skates. With a minimum of action you can move with more speed and agility than normally. Hasrbo, Bay, and ILM are finally starting to incorporate the true capabiilities of robotic life forms into the Transformers, creating extremely unique and different robots- much different than we've ever seen before. And it's getting the typical human response- "different is EVIL!!" Maybe it took an outsider like Bay to come up with these ideas...who knows. I think kids are going to enjoy the figs- which is really all that matters as they still provide for 95% of sales.
As for the individual figs, Arcee could have been done better. I don't really like her colors. Do we have any word on the name for the third bike yet? Jolt looks awesome, though i think the legs are mistransformed. Repaints already? Greeeaaattt. Blaze Master looks awesome and the twins look fantastic. One thing on those two: is each figure deluxe sized, meaning the vehicle mode is more Voyager sized? Or do they come in a two-pack of scout-sized figs that make a deluxe sized vehicle? All in all, I love this line

While I, personally, may agree with some of your comments I'd have to say that yeah, you probably will be villified, maybe even violated...aw hell, at the first sign of the mob with torches bolt for your back door and don't stop till you can't hear the yelling anymore.
Myself, I can't believe that I am actually at a loss for words. I've already used up most of my cynical and derisive comments the first few go-arounds of Wheelie and Jolt/Mudflap bashing. It's cool that we are getting the Sideswipe repaint but at the same time pisses me off that they renamed it rather than doing the G1 tribute thing like they did with Target excls. Jazz and Starscream.
Hasbro should have just saved themselves a lot of time and effort and just put their forward-most appendage in the path of a heavy metal door and slammed it over and over. I'm starting to feel about the Movie line the same way I felt about TFA. I have only 1 TFA dlx. figure and that was a Christmas present. Even the figures I was liking before from this movie line are starting to disinterest me just because the rest of the line is becoming such a downer.
First the TF Universe line started to nose-dive and now this...soon Go-Bots are going to start looking good!

so far the only things I see myself picking up are:
Sideswipe, and Swerve. This is one time the mold is good enough and the repaint well though out enough that it warrants a double purchase.
Ravage Looks fairly interesting. More Interesting than Scorponok did in the last move line.
Maybe Dead End, just for the Audi Alt mode.
Leader Prime if and only if I find him ion clearance.
And Starscream, when he gets repainted.
Other than that, I just don't like the one wheel instead of feet idea. And the Humongous blaster arm motif on many of them.
Is the concept of a "hand" so obsolete to an alien robot species that they'd rather just blast away anything they come into close proximity with rather than attempt to grab it or pick it up?
Geez. I may be just getting old, but I lie my robots to be humanoid. Arms, legs, guns. Not some wheeled freak that can't actually stand.

To whoever it was that asked, the bot modes look to be Scout class sized by the hips presented in the bot modes, so the alt mode would be Deluxe sized... The pair, together, also have the Deluxe class price point...
To me, they are a Must Have. Them and the Poopy Keychain [PU-OP]...
Damn, forgot about HA BBee.
I guess I can give Hasbro, my $40-$50 this time...
[Edit- -Unedited, question answered in other thread...]

Swerve shall join my ranks as an actual red Sideswipe.
Sideswipe will become Tracks, until a better substitute arrives.
Dead End and Sideways are maybes...I don't really collect Dead Ends, but I do have the Alt one, and this one's better than I expected.
Smokescreen is still a big maybe, but I may just pick him up for the homage.
And it's a shame Jetfire's bot mode is so fugly, that's a damn fine alt mode. Doesn't look anything like Jetfire of course, but it's cool.
Same with the seekers, I'd love to have another trio but they're just so dang ugly.
Greenatron and maybe even The Fallen would be okay too, if they weren't green.
So I guess that's 4 figures I will definitely get from this line, and 2 maybes.

Interagator Barricade - don't want
Cannon Bumblebee - I'll take the other one
Blaze Master - cool, new guy. Wonder if he's in the flick
Ravage - GIMME!
Jolt - not bad
Skids & Mudflap (ice cream truck mode) - MAJOR LOL!!!
Dead End - Oooh, he's awesome. Could he be the Audi R8 instead of Sideways?
Arcee - They made the red one her? Then who's the pink one?
Swerve - Nice redeco. This'll make the Geewunners both happy and upset

For example, all the pictures I've seen of Sideways have the entire torso block in a solid piece of red plastic, without any detail paint apps on it. The same thing seems to have happened to the twins, at least in robot mode.
My question is, is that permanent, or are these still just prototype pictures? Because mind you, dead end seems to have paint apps where Sideways is missing them.

damn it you're right... just saw the alt-mode over at TFW2005... still he bears a HUGE resemblance to the legends springer... who knows...
