Sabrblade with some edits from WJ88 wrote:Kabaya, one of Takara's many licenees for Japanese Transformers supplementary merchandise, is apparently going to be making a new TF line of snap-together mini-models like they always do.
It's called Transformers: Block Wars, and there are four known molds to be in this line. While the four molds are Kabaya's usual down-sized model versions of larger TF toys, the particular toys are figures of the Cyber Series (which were simplified G1 themed Transformers not widely available).
Specifically, they use the designs of Cyber Commander Optimus Prime, Cyber Commander Bumblebee, Cyber Battalion Megatron, and Cyber Battlion Starscream.
But wait, it gets better. They're not only down-sized Cyber Series toys; they COMBINE! Yes, a combiner made of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Starscream.

Let's be fair, most people don't shower with their clothes on.

yeah it confuses me as to why the Autobots would wanna combine with the Decepticons....especially Optimus combining with Megatron! but i guess this mixed faction combination is already present with the Combiner Wars! so whatever floats people's boats i guess?
this sized combiner...& i'm hazarding a guess here....is Legion Class size or similar.....it kinda reminds me of either Transformers Armada Perceptor or Thrilling 30 minicon assault team Centuritron(granted those only had 3 figures that combined).

Usually about 25$ plus shipping.

And if you're importing that price is for an entire case of six, eight or even 10 figures depending on how they're packed and you might get two combiners out of the box instead of one. Don't fall for stores selling you just the four figures for the price of a case.
Kabaya figures are nice, but remember that they're partsformers, not transformers, though that's more of a selling point for this set. Also the stickers usually suck and don't hold for long, especially over sculpted parts like faces.
I like the little ball joints everywhere, should be fun.

Even if the execution won't be great, the concept is amusing enough to me on its own.
If the stickers are that bad, I might just not bother, I've always found stickers annoying. Do Kabaya toys generally look okay stickerless?

You're going to want some stickers for it to look good. Flat stickers usually stay fine, but curving ones, especially over facial features are the tough ones. Paint would really be the best method since these are usually well sculpted. Looks like the faces are the only curved parts so it should be fine.

They look naked without stickers, as the parts don't really have that much sculpted detail. They're ideal for customizing on the other hand.

dont see why not. megatron's an autobot now, and starscream renounced his decepticonhood as part of the political ploy that got him leadership of cybertron. the only contention i'd have with the set is bumblebee being dead.

He's still in Starscream's head. Also, I really dont think Kabaya cares about referencing modern american comics.

Remember, it's the same company that brought us Gaia Scramble, a Combiner made of 6 Limb bots:
1.) Fireflight / Slingshot
2.) Air Raid / Skydive
3.) Dead End / Breakdown
4.) Wildrider / Drag Strip
5.) Vortex / Blast Off
6.) Swindle / Brawl

I really do like this, it's so nonsensical, but Kabaya usually does combiners well. Can't wait to have it in hand.

And, besides, Bumblebee's still dead in the comics, so his being here would be a poor reference even if it were one.william-james88 wrote:SG Roadbuster wrote:Carnivius_Prime wrote:Can't imagine Starscream and Megatron being all that happy about being used for stomping by Autobots.

Paint's not an option for me, so I'm glad to hear that most of the stickers will be okay.

For me it's not just the horns, but also the red and white jet chest, the cockpit leg, and mismatched feet. I doubt it was intentional, it just reminded me of it.

In other news, I tried taking the GDO Cyber Commander/Battalion figures these appear to be based off of and combining them in a similar way. It didn't work at all. I was hoping it was some insane easter egg that I just hadn't noticed with the figures, but hope faded quickly and I was left with a toppled mess of nonsensically transformed toys on the ground.

You can already combine good guys with bad guys with both hero mashers and kinder surprize toys (the later actually let you do that ratchet/megatron mind melt)
You dont see it here but you can switch out the arms and legs with any other one of them.

No freaking clue. Shouldn't they be released by now because we saw them about a year ago. And some reviewers on YouTube already got their hands on them.
