Oh well, more money that will hopefully be fed into the Generations line.

But hey! Their for the kids. I don't think I need 'em, but I got a nephew who does.

william-james88 wrote:We had previously reported on a new Transformers "cyber" line which featured simplified Transformers toys of G1 characters. These came in 11 and 7 inches (each had their own Bumblebee). The facebook page Cybergeek's alliance has new images featuring all 7 inch figures from this new Cyber Battalion line (which were initially from the Transformers Columbia facebook page). Below you will see images of Cyber Battalion ______ inch Megatron, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Optimus (first time we see him) and Starscream which happens to the same mold previously found as a prototype at the Children's Museum exhibit. This confirms that the prototype found there was of an upcoming figure instead of a discarded one. Images of the boxes are also available, and each lets us know how many steps are involved in transforming the figure. Please give us your thoughts on this new line now that we have clearer images (mirrored below).
Please, please fill in the blank. How tall these guys on the pictures are?
Regardless, I would buy that starscream for sure!

Optimus looks pretty sweet design wise, apart from the arms, although he looks pretty skinny.
Megatron looks great in robot mode - very cool. Altmode is a little OTT and chunky, but then I'm comparing him to the recent Leader Megatron... So no competition there.
Other guys I don't really care for

Not a fan of combiner wars deluxes I assume.william-james88 wrote:I personally dont mind if they have simplified transformations. What bothers me is that it looks like they have a severe lack of articulation. Wrist articulation is obviously 0 here.

As others have also said, these are much better than some of the other simplified offerings they've released lately.

I have to get that Megs...

prjkt wrote:That starscream actually looks really good. Not G1 perfect, but still pretty close. Obviously doesn't have the Null Rays from the prototype image, but I'd probably still pick this guy up.
Actually, the images of the prototype show that there is an attachment point on the...deltoid section of the arms to plug the null rays into so you can have a more G1 looking Starscream.
The best part of these is that the Starscream prototype made me afraid that we wouldn't get the Leader Thundercracker as Starscream. Now that this prototypes was shown to be a different line, hopefully we will get Leader Starscream. The comics definitely seem to be illuding to the fact he is going to take that body.

Prime looks incredibly ... unoriginal. Megatron however looks great.

The Prime looks a bit like they took the Legends Prime transformation and attached it to an upscaled figure. Agreed, not very original.

Not seeing any Knee articulation on any of these.
Grimlock might have bending robot knees.
Going to be buying a few of these. Starscream and Grimlock are on the top of my list.
Wondering if the Eleven inch Cyber toys for Optimus and Bumblebee. Have more articulation than the Seven inch Cyber toys. Thinking Eleven Bumblebee has bending knees for transformation into car mode. Worried that Cyber Eleven Optimus doesn't need articulated Knees for Transformation into a Truck.
Wanted a G1 Voyager Seeker update toy for ages. Not going to let no bending knees prevent me from buying it.
Thinking a G1 Deco Cyber Series Grimlock is coming. Might be a SDCC exclusive.
Hasbro, No doubt will enjoy repurposing the Cyber Seven seeker toy. Into all of the seekers characters colors. Think Hasbro should have added bending joints for this toy. As they are going to get a lot of profit out of toy. Having knee articulation would have increased those profits substantially.

Grimlock has knees. If you look at how his legs transform into his alt mode, they fold up. Also, Megatron has bent knees in one picture, straight in the other. Could be paint, but Starscream and Bumblebee both have different color thighs than lower legs. Looking at the prototype images, it doesn't look like Starscream has knees, though.Tsutsukakushi wrote::lol: Not seeing any Knee articulation on any of these.

Blaming it on the alt mode. Don't think the Truck cab vehicle Optimus uses offers that much creativity for newer toys. Most of the time, Prime's legs are the back part of the truck cab. Optimus most of the time has robot Faux cab windows. With the arms often folding out from the same part of the cab.
So, when is the better repurposed Menasor toy version coming out?

True. But that doesn't mean people won't complain about it.

Because it's far too similar to Generations Legends Class Prime.

He is an upscaled and slightly remolded version of the original Legends G1 Prime. Or at least has the exact same transformation.

After 30 years I guess there's only so many ways you can transform a truck to a robot.
And a jet to a robot
And a car to a robot
They haven't quite run out of ideas for tanks yet at least. They're getting there though!

Yup. Not too many curveballs they can throw us anymore. Pretty much the only saving grace of much of the movie lines have been that they aren't nearly as straight forward as the Generations line.

Guess the line isn't exactly cancelled.
These are too simple and silly for me, but I do like the general design of that Megatron.

It's the same figure. And it was never confirmed that the prototype sown was for a defunct line. That was just a theory which has since been debunked.

Nice catch. But the Megs is reused from the combiner wars box
So its not sure if these images were concieved for these toys or are simply being reused, as is the case with Megs.

Those of you bitching about the half-dozen things that you seem to think are wrong with toys intended for 5 YEAR OLDS can take a long walk off a very short pier.
Seriously, you guys are dicks! I'd love to see even one of you walk up to a child, pull the toy from his hand and say "Dude, this thing is a piece of crap! You shouldn't be playing with this" and toss it in the trash. Honestly, that's the mentality you people have when you start verbally bashing on toys meant for little children on a public site so you might want to think about how you are coming across to the rest of society when you start ragging on these toys. I know 3 people off the top off my head who wont have anything to do with this site because of this very issue.

The Optimus art is also from his Combiner Wars toy, and was originally for the Transformers Legends mobile game. The same might be true for Bumblebee as well.

Ha! It looks like cost saving measures go way deeper than just using the same molds then.
That Megatron toy doesnt look anything like his picture.

It looks like these draw cues from the Legends line, especially Starscream, but with a few changes. Optimus looks to have an even simpler transformation (and gets rid of his stupid chest gimmick). Bumblebee's transformation looks most similar to his RID Legion figure. Megatron looks like a cross between his Generations Legends figure and his G2 Universe Legends figure. Grimlock doesn't look like he transforms much like any recent version of the character I've seen (AOE excluded).
I've never understood why people think kids want toys with complex transformations. Nothing gets in the way of playing with Transformers than having to take a minute or two to transform the damn toy. I want Starscream in jet mode NOW, just like in the cartoon!

Gotta reuse that art!
Hasbro seems to reuse a lot of art for toys meant for kids. I picked up a G2 Legends Megatron at Big Lots for my son, and the picture on the packaging was the Generations Legends figure re-shaded green, which looked nothing like the actual toy.

He's part of the 11 inch line up, along with the other bumblebee. Those have not been revealed more than those small photos in the brazillian catalogue.
