Just to clarify, these are NOT Studio Series toys, but mainline toys. While they will be the same price as Studio Series voyagers, they are based on different designs given to the Hasbro toy development teams since these toys were being made much before the Studio Series toys.
Also, while we are getting a Studio Series Rhinox, the voyager Optimus Prime in the Studio Series line will only be available through the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line at Target. To go with these images, we also have new stock images from the Studio Series line. These show the packaging and background for Cheetor, Arcee, Bumblebee and Battletrap.
The images of Rhinox come from 劉宗岳 and Guo Sheng Wu. The images of Optimus come from 邱合成. The stock images form from Hasbro Korea.

Oh well. Easy skips in the end.
That is, unless there's a sale.

Thankfully though, when displayed, that angle won't be that obvious.

Rhinox, looks o.k.
I will destroy you Reed Richards. Behold!... the power of Doom!

I believe he's a voyager. That is, unless this is a different toy from the ROTB voyagers mentioned the other day.Overcracker wrote:Prime is a Deluxe right?

Yeesh!. If that's tru, that's Hot Rod levels of Voyager, and I'm not seeing the engineering to warrant it.

Agreed! The only thing that gives me hope, is the lack of hollowness (arms, legs, etc.). In hand, hopefully it's a solid figure. Haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, so fingers crossed, my hopes aren't already crushed lolOvercracker wrote::shock:

I like both Prime and Rhinox. They both look neat. More mainline figures I will get!
also hearing rumors the mainline voyagers will be cheaper than standard voyagers, so take that with a grain of salt

1¢ cheaper is cheaper.

What do you mean by "standard" and "mainline?" Aren't those the same thing? As in, the mainline is the standard? Just wondering.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I love the chain details on the Rhino shoulders, that is neat.

Mainline = movie exclusive line, existing only for this movie
Standard = SS = regular priced voyagers

I'll add that the Cyberverse deluxes were around 5 or 10$CAN cheaper than the Generations or SS deluxes. I think it's the same for the recent Earthspark line too.

I wonder how we would feel about these designs if the figures came out last year with the movie like they were supposed to? Would we have felt differently knowing potentially better alternatives were coming in the same year as opposed to a year later?

Were you living under a rock deep in the Mariana Trench this past 16 years?
And I repeat, it's been around for 16 years.
The "Bay" stuff isn't going anywhere. And just so you know, it lasted LONGER than G1 so far. And I expect it will last double of the G1 years pretty soon.
Posted by Sabrblade on February 14th, 2023 @ 7:51pm CST
It's simple. The Bumblebee movie led a bunch of Bay-haters to think/hope/believe that the newer movies forthcoming would be taking a more Geewun approach, design-wise, from here on out.-Kanrabat- wrote:Jinx Riotcrash wrote:Ugh. Not attractive.

At best, it will be some kind of hybrid.
Still, I'd love to see another movie that went like RotF, where the Transformers were at their "Bayest".
Also, I can't believes "Bay-hating" is still a thing after 16 years.
Some people have pretty empty lives to hold nerd-grudges for so long.

It must be a rare thing.
Speaking of which...

Probably won’t get it, but I think it’s pretty well done, and that goes for both modes.
I’m not a “Bay-hater” in terms of designs, but if you don’t like it you don’t like it…
Expecting someone to “get over that” is stupid.
I don’t care if it’s been 47 years since that first film.
Not to mention, not liking that style isn’t a simultaneous claim that G1 is the best, or that everything should go back to G1.

The point is not about "liking" or "not liking".
It's about hating so much that one is wishing for the thing to completely disappear. As if the thing is a scourge and only seeing it gone forever would that makes you finally happy.
That's a very baffling and unhealthy mindset.

When the first film was announced you practically had marches in the streets with people holding banners with Peter Cullen's face on it, and it worked. I would've expected almost the same thing for Primal, did I miss something?
The big difference is Ron Perlman was announced as the voice right off the bat. Not only is he an actor fans like, and had already voiced the character before, but it seemed like a lost cause to do anything about it for those who would have really wanted Gary Chalk instead. So all we could do was express our dissatisfaction and move on, which is exactly what I did.

There are people still demanding Garry Chalk voice Optimus in this movie. It's just that these people are mostly confined to places like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, etc., rather than on fan forums like here.william-james88 wrote:chuckdawg1999 wrote:Ya know, one thing that I've been wondering, is where were all the Beast Wars fans clamoring for Gary Chalk to return? These same people were mad about the original BW cast not returning for the Kingdom season of the Netflix WFCT cartoon.

Not really, Buzzworthy is its own chimeric animal, taking bits from any current line there is.

Also, a big product launch for a toyline in Japan means a new campaign with an exclusive repaint. For these toys, Takara is doing a promotion where they will give away a red clear repaint of the Firedrive target master figure, called "Burning Plasma Blaster", to customers who purchase 5,000 yen (tax included) or more of "Transformers Beast Awakening" related products in store.

I especially like the beast targetmasters.
The only thing that I don't like is that Cheetor who wear shorts in both mode. This look dumb.
Oh and those "one step" Bee and Nightbird are genius! Sure, the vehicle look damaged, but the bots are awesome for what they are.

I want it retooled (or at least give that transformation) to Terrorsaur. I really love the idea of having nice wings dissapear in robot mode, he needs that.

The beast Targetmasters are uniformly great. Too bad they're bundled into the kids-line figures (which is pretty good tbh, but not for myself) I'd get all of them if they're sold as Core price 2-packs.
And poor Scourge. He got the short end of the design stick, his whole lower-half is OP's.

Cheetor, Rhinox and the crocodile target master are sold individually at least.
