Thanks to Snakasblog and tontonreviews, we have a new video review and in-hand images for the upcoming Transformers Studio Series WWII Hot Rod!

Hot Rod is a retool of WWII Bumblebee, sporting a new chest, shoulders, head, and weapon. The new tooling brings the figure closer to his appearance in the World War II flashback from The Last Knight movie, though the alt mode is left with the same tooling as Bumblebee, leaving neither looking like their WWII alternate modes. Hot Rod also comes with a new accessory in the form of his Time Gun, which plugs into the top of the car mode, which sadly leaves a gap in the windshield area where Bumblebee's hammer would go.

Hot Rod is due out in January of 2020, where you can then pair him up with his fellow Nazi Hunter Bumblebee, forming a deadly pair.

Check out the images and review below, and let us know what you think of him in the comments section below!

The review doesn’t show it, but at least according to the renders Hot rod’s gun can be stored the same way Bee’s hammer is.

I think he looks ok but I won’t be picking him up. Hopefully, though, this means we’ll be getting reviews for Bumblebee, Soundwave, and the Arcees soon!

Considering these bodies existed for a 20 second flashback, I wouldn't doubt an eventual Bulldog.

I personally am really hoping for a Leader Infernocus though

Same.

It looks good, probably better than WW2 Bee, but ultimately, this figure serves as an upgrade kit for the TLK Deluxe Hut Rud.

Video review is out for the new SS Bumblebee!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFex0tV4bpM

It looks insanely good! I was initially worried that the wings would be stuck straight out, but not only can they move back and forth, they can move up and down! The new bulky arms and chest transformation are incredible, by far the best we've had on a deluxe Bumblebee.

Definitely my most anticipated figure for the new wave. Can't wait to have him!

Also, I recently acquired a Studio Series figure I've been waiting a long time for. Things are kinda busy right now, but I'll be posting about it soon!

Racing in from YouTuber TonTonReview is a video review for Transformers Studio Series #49 Deluxe Bumblebee! Thanks to Seibertronian EvasionModeBumblebee for the heads up on this one. This is fifth general retail Bumblebee released so far in the Studio Series and is an all new mold featuring a non-removable battle mask and a forearm that can be swapped out for his blaster. He comes with a cardboard backdrop display based on the tunnel interior where he scanned his new vehicle mode in Transformers from 2007. Enjoy the review and let us know if this is the Bumblebee for you in the forum. As always stay tuned to Seibertron for the ultimate in Transformers news!

He looks nice, and that gun is awesome. But I'm not sold on him. WW2 BB looked alright, and even though he technically had the wrong alternate mode (a Humber scout car as opposed to the Mercedes staff car of the movie), it was "close enough" that I didn't mind, and also the way the hammer formed the gun barrel on the alt mode was really nice. Hot Rod however was clearly meant to turn into a Sherman tank, and whilst I understand the need for retooling the fact we were robbed of a Transformer with a Sherman alt mode is tragic. Also the gun looks really weird on the alt mode, even in the "proper" place.

On a more positive note, whilst I can't find the gif right now, someone somewhere posted an in-hand shot of Shockwave. He doesn't look to be a retool of Megatron, as aside from anything else he hasn't got the hollow torso problem. He also looks really nice in general, and as someone that loves Shockwave in all his forms I might have to get him.

Greetings Seibertronians! Thanks to fellow Seibertron user, EvasionModeBumblebee, we've learned that YouTuber TonTon Reviews has uploaded a brand new review of Studio Series #51 Deluxe Class DotM Soundwave! This new mould represents Soundwave as he appeared in the third Transformers live action movie, Dark of the Moon. He also comes with a small to scale figure of Lazerbeak.

The review goes through the basics of articulation, and a closer look at the two modes.

We have embedded the video below for your convenience.

What do you think of the review? Will you be adding this release to your shelves? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

As a big Shockwave fan maaaan, I’m thinking I might need to get the SS version. I wasn’t huge on the design originally but seeing it in toy form I have a different perspective on it. It just feels cooler somehow. And I didn’t get the prior mold he’s based on so he’d be totally new to me I wouldn’t have that hang up.

Plus, little robots and mens for bots to trample or play kickball with and whatnot. That’s hard to pass up.

I want him too! Shockwave is one of my favourite Transformer designs regardless of era, I don't think there's ever been a bad looking Shockwave toy. I already have the DOTM Voyager and he's aged very gracefully so I'll be keeping him, but one can never have too much Shockwave.

A shame it's most likely impossible to get a Driller but I don't realistically see how that could be even be done.

Lazerbreak? Interesting. He says "beak" in the video, but the thumbnail and title text both say "break." Some sort of auto-correct thing?

OPTIMUS IS HERE! :michaelbay:

A DOTM Optimus with the jetpack is probably the thing I've wanted from Transformers since 2011 with DOTM (my favorite movie and favorite look for Optimus). There was the ultimate Optimus (which was really only accurate in vehicle mode), and there was the remold of the ROTF leader with the jetpack (which was cool, but I never got a hold of it), but there was no really good representation of DOTM Optimus.

Until now.

Prime5.jpg

It's late news at this point, but because I skipped SS-32 I didn't realize until now just how much remolding there was between this and SS-05. SS-05 was really fun, but was inaccurate in a lot of ways. This new Optimus retains all the fun of that mold but upgrades it into the most accurate voyager Optimus we've ever gotten (Battle Blades does win in the vehicle mode category, but I'd give literally every other category to this mold. Transformation, stability, fun, robot mode accuracy, all of it.).
Prime4.jpg

With the exception of the shield, the weapons are decently scaled, and I can't believe they included as many of them as they did. I thought the axe was too small at first, but looking at screenshots of it next to Megatron's head it doesn't seem too off. The weapons stand is an awesome bonus, and if you combine it with the jetpack as the base it helps fill it out and make it look closer to the movie.
Prime3.jpg

Can we talk about the gold fade for a second? It's a really important paint app that's been long-neglected by movie Primes (even the MPM to an extent), and I'm super glad they included it here. It helps solidify this Optimus that much more as my definitive Optimus Prime.
Prime1.jpg

I'm super excited to get to painting Prime up (keep an eye on the customs forum around Christmas!), but in the meantime I packed a small upgrade kit a couple months ago to add to the figure. I included SS-05's legs (which are actually just a little bit shorter than the legs that come with the figure but have the folding pieces that really help), some smokestacks (although SS-32/44s smokestack stubs are actually wider than the ones on SS-05, so I'll have to find a new alternative later this year), and a painted up Tribarrel gun from Shapeways that helps complete the look! The silver windows surprised me - I'm not a big fan of the silver windows in vehicle mode (I'll be painting them gloss black later) - But I actually like them in robot mode.

(I'll bet the reason they didn't include a tribarrel gun with this prime is because they're saving it for an SS Evasion Mode Prime down the road)

Anyways, DOTM Optimus is without a doubt in my top 4 Studio Series figures (along with Ironhide, Starscream, and 76 Camaro Bumblebee), and may possibly be my favorite of the line so far! It's everything I've wanted since 2011, and it was worth the wait.

. . . Now I just need a Shockwave for him to fight!

Fellow Seibertronians! Thanks to Walmart.com, we now have some very interesting listings from Walmart for what appears to be the next lineup for the Transformers Studio Series line in 2020! Among these listings appears to be confirmation of a Deluxe Class Roadbuster, the Wrecker from Dark Of The Moon, Leader Class Overload, the articulated dump truck Constructicon from Revenge Of The Fallen, and Deluxe Class Jet Mode Shatter and Jeep Mode Bumblebee, both of whom are from the Bumblebee movie, all of which are sure to please a few of you. The listing links have been mirrored below for your convenience.

Leader Class Overload

Hopefully, we'll get official reveals of these hot bots soon, perhaps even at the upcoming conventions later this month.

So, what're your thoughts on these reveals? Will you be interested in a Jet Shatter? Could Bumblejeep mean the soon arrival of a new Starscream Blitzwing figure? Tell us your thoughts in the discussion below, and as always, keep your audio receptors tuned for the latest in Seibertron news!

Shatter and Dropkick are really alluring now. Now all we need is a Blitzwing.

How much you wanna bet Roadbuster will be the armed up version to get around licensing?

A) super happy we are finishing off the Bee triple changer alt mode collection. hopefully this Shatter is far better as a Transformer than her first toy.

B) Bumblejeep! Now we only truly need a Blitzwing! Maybe he will be Scrapper's wave mate.

C) Overload we knew was coming. I am ready to see my Devastator already!

D) WREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECKERSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I knew it was only a matter of time. Now we just need a heavily weaponized Roadbuster followed by Leadfoot and Topspin! Topspin is low priority since he got a great figure originally, but i still want all 3

Roadbuster would be neat to have after how bland the DOTM Deluxe was. Overload better be worth the price point. Jet Shatter must come with better articulation and a more accurate head in order to beat the Deluxe. Bumblejeep would be neat, but once he's done, do Blitzwing and avoid doing the Beewun cast. Most of them already got Siege/Earthrise toys.

Agreed on both accounts, but seeing as how Scavenger was done, I have high hopes that Overload will be just as good, if not better. Also more Wreckers please!

Well, it doesn't take much to beat her first Deluxe

Roadbuster is a definite buy, really excited to see how it looks! Jeep Bee is pretty cool, I'm wondering how that turns out.

Since we'll probably be getting 2 voyagers for this wave and Scrapper is one of them, who do we think the other Voyager is, maybe Blitzwing?

Keep in mind he has to support pretty much all the constructicons. Highly doubt he’s going to be that 6 leg design. Probably be similar but he will more than likely have a very solid robot mode

Did she? I thought she was roughly the same height, not enough to make her a different size class, at least considering she was the same height as Dropkick who had two Deluxes.

Shatter's car mode figure was also a deluxe. So this figure being a deluxe will also keep her robot mode size consistent between her own figures. Otherwise, you'd end up with two very differently sized shatters. She does also turn into a car in the movie anyway, so she can't be that big without size-changing shenanigans.

I think we may still get the 6 legged Overload. If you look at the diagram of how the constructicons connect, you can see that he actually only connects to Scavenger, Long Haul and Rampage. So all he really needs is a very solid torso for a good central waist connection, the robot legs can just end up as back kibble in combined mode, or maybe intertwine with Scavenger for some extra stability.

Image

Honestly, I just love that piece and concept art and really really love non-anthropomorphic movie bots, and want to see it in 3D form.

Did she? I thought she was roughly the same height, not enough to make her a different size class, at least considering she was the same height as Dropkick who had two Deluxes.

She was a little taller than Bee, but not nearly as tall as, say Blitzwing, so she has to either be a tall deluxe or a small voyager to be in scale.

Also, YES! JET SHATTER!!! please don’t “shatter”

Don't forget, the SS VW Bumblebee toy is tiny, like 4.5 inches high and 3 inches wide.

After what they did with Hightower and Scrapmetal, basing them on smaller toys or concept art, I fully expect Overload to be the centaur man styled bot

So exited and Can't wait to see what these guys look like. I hope that Bee has the same stuff from the other Studio Series toys which includes the blade, the cannon, and the mask. I am looking forward to Roadbuster the most. I hope Shatter's head design is right this time. I am concerned about Overload. If he's going to be based on his art design, I don't think he'll be easy to transform. Just look at how many legs he has in the art design.
