Not only is the full set really quite expensive (the box set alone goes for $750 to $1,800 depending on the condition), it's also really hard to find them now in good condition, and to get the stickers to stay put due to the age of the adhesive and the toys - Seibertron took all his time and care to apply and reapply them for the galleries. And if that wasn't enough, Killbison is made of the extremely fragile gold plastic.
So, all that said, sit back, scroll down, click on any of the images below, and let us know what you think of Liokaiser and the team members of the Breastforce below. And who knows, maybe we can get Hasbro or Takara to include them in a late Combiner Wars re-imagining...
Victory Liokaiser
Victory Leozack
Victory Gaihawk
Victory Hellbat
Victory Jarugar
Victory Killbison
Victory Drillhorn
Victory Lionbreast
Victory Hawkbreast

Victory Jaguarbreast

I was really hoping that this was going to be Encore #24- I thought Fort Max being rereleased meant anything was possible

Our English is used a bit differently in Japan, a bit more liberal in overall definitions (like "smart" for "small"). Besides, it doesn't really refer to mammary glands per se, more like to their transforming Breastplates (yes, they are called that, and they do exist!).
Good to see the God of Combiners being in the spotlight in the galleries. This deserves a video:

And every time he would return, he was virtually unbeatable.

They're on my list hopefully for later this year. I've got them pulled out of storage right now so that I can do their galleries at long last along with all of the other Constructicon galleries that are missing aside from the initial Constructicons and the Micromaster Constructicons.

You bet! Except I don't think I'm going to go with those ridiculous names (other than Big Rescue Force). It's obvious from those absurd names, as well as how they were portrayed in their one fictional appearance, that the writer had no idea what he was doing. "Rescue Force Jet Type", for example, will suffice similar to the unnamed Hasbro Powerdashers, which technically go by Powerdasher Drill Type, etc.
I also finished up the 13 necessary galleries for the Multiforce which includes Landcross, the 6 individual Multiforce members, and the 6 primary combinations (such as "Wingwaver" and "Waverwing") along with 1 shot of their other combinations along with using the reissue for the combination with itself (i.e. "Wingwing", "Dashdash" and so on).
The Rescue Force and the reissue Multiforce are next on my list, followed by Masterpiece Star Saber.

To that end, just bought the Shout DVD set of Victory off Amazon. I'll be in on these jokes and such soon. Well, probably not soon, but within a few months.
Edit: Can someone explain to me where Lio"kaiser" comes from? See below for source of this question.

The English names of many of the Victory characters, along with many other Japanese Transformers, are complicated by the Engrish on the boxes, the pronunciations in the shows, and the translations of their Japanese names. Other conflicting names are Minerva (Minelba), Jallugar (Jarugar or simply Jaguar depending on who you ask), Deszaras versus Deathsaurus, Brestforce versus Breastforce, Gaihawk versus Guyhawk, Liokaiser (pronounced like a "kaiser" roll) versus Road Caesar (pronounced like Julius "Caesar"). Other honorable mentions with screwy names and/or spellings are the Trainbots and the Dinoforce members. I don't have a specific answer to your question. As for the spellings on Seibertron, I usually do a bit of research first, and then list them based on what appears to be the most common acceptance of their name. It's not perfect, but it seems to work for the most part.

Seibertron wrote:The real question I have is ... what the heck happened to their non-breastplate weapons? It's obvious to me that they were planned to have a secondary weapon at some point. This image from one of the Million Publishing books shows an image of what appears to be their individual weapons as well as a weapon similar to the weapon Liokaiser has in the cartoon. The combination aspect of these weapons is very similar to the combination of the Multiforce figures as well. It's a bummer that this set doesn't have these weapons ... it would be an even better set than it already is if they had them.
Just speculation (obviously, I hope), but maybe those were the plan and then they went to the Breastforce weapons? Maybe they were going to be "DX Micromasters" like Landcross with melee weapons to counter their blasters and things changed? Only logical explanation I can come up with other than budget.
Those weapons and their combination reminds me a great deal of the ones that came with the Cyberverse sized Beast Hunters Predacons.

It takes a bit Latin know-how for the "Caesar" part. You see, Victory actually used two pronunciations for that word:
1) For Liokaiser, the archaic correct "kaisar" (from which the German "Kaiser", Dutch "Keizer" and even Russian "Czar" are derived). In Japan that's rendered as ã«ã€ã¶ãŒ (kaizÄ)
2) For Road Caesar, the more common English "seezah". Rendered in Japanese as ã·ãŒã¶ãŒ (shizÄ)
Both are considered "correct", depending who you ask. The first one is used more often in mecha anime in various English spellings, like "Kizer".

Informally we use the different spellings (German vs. Latin) to differentiate between pronunciations. It's not as bad as "Gregevor" or "Rartorata" thankfully

Killings and destruction yey! But Leozack was so stoopid to believe that Hori could......(spoilers) you guys know what I mean.
If Tomy can eer get to restoring the Mastermolds of these guys, Deathsaurus especially, no need for an MP one to go toe to toe with MP Star Saber.
Btw Ryan, any chance for a comparison pic between MP Star Saber and G1 Deathsaurus? Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssssssseeeeeeee?

I can do that but there's not much to see since Deszaras was shorter than G1 Star Saber.

Make a heroic samurai slicing the enemy pose just like Kenshin Himura does and Dezaras falling..... that would be priceless(I know of the poseability limitations but couple that with the smoke effect you did for Exhaust........ )

I think JelZe might mean that Team Bullet Train and the Build Team also head themed helmets like these guys do. Though, while the Breastforce has animal-themed helmets, Team Bullet Train has, well, bullet train-themed helmets and the Build Team has construction vehicle-themed helmets (Wedge's helmet is bulldozer-themed, Heavy Load's is dump truck-themed, etc.).Seibertron wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Noideaforaname wrote:I wish more combiner teams had themed helmets like these guys.

Both Team Bullet Train and the Build Team: the top of the helmets were based on the front of their vehicle modes.

These are redecos of 4 of the 6 bots that make up Liokaiser. They were released in European and Australian markets in 1992 and lack Breastplate partners and Liokaiser components. The upside is they came with newly cast weapons. Without proper names they are just refered to as Rescue Force Jet type, Drill type, Claw-Tank type and Racing Buggy type. These guys do get an A for effort as they work with what they got and combine to form Big Rescue Force. Click on any of the images below to see the full galleries.

My reason for buying it was to cannibalize Killbison's connector, as the LioKaiser giftset I shelled out $500 for in 2003 arrived with it pre-broken. Cannot say this enough times: Never EVER rotate the legs while attaching, removing, or generally playing with them.
I need to take that part out and cast a mold so I can make more sometime.
Since her only appearance was in the B&W manga for the longest time, am I the only one who used to use RF Leozack to represent Lyzack? Favoring Marvel over other continuities, I also call RF Drillhorn Borebit; cuz' y'know, he comes with those 2 extra bits! He's therefore always next to Drill-Dasher, since he also kinda' avoided having an official name, and therefore makes a fine Corkscrew. See, that's why I love those rare nameless but official TFs: like KOs, you can project whatever character you see fit onto them, except they're actually official!
So it's nice to see these 6 (BA-KOOM!), um, these 5 (FDAM! SPAKOW!), these 4 Autobots finally get their just galleries. Now RUUUUUUUUN!!!!

A Transformers sticker book released in Europe by a company called Kent back in 1993 is what gave then their names.Bumblevivisector wrote:Which official source cleared up their names as "Rescue Force 1-4" recently?
Though, as of last year, Big Rescue Force finally got his own appearance in comic form in last year's BotCon comic "Hoist the Flag" as crowd filler.

The molds have integrated hands and feet, the only loose piece is the helmet (which Rescue Force jet didn't come with).
Their quirkiness really makes me want to hunt them down, especially if someone makes reproduction weapons and Breast Animals.

Relevancy. The older galleries don't generate as much traffic as newer galleries. With the release of the Combiner Wars Protectobots, the G1 Protectobots are once again relevant since this is the first time ever they've had new molds that are intended to really be the characters they represent instead of repaints or remolds of other characters.
This is usually my strategy but poor ol' Metroplex got the short end of the stick a couple of years ago. Hopefully I can rectify that before the end of the year so that we can finally have galleries of Metroplex, Metrotitan, Trypticon, Gigastorm, and Encore Metroplex. The rumored "Platinum Edition" Trypticon set might give me my next excuse to bust out all of these guys later this year.

btw, Streetwise's legs actually extend and his chest is supposed to tab into the diecast like this:

The "legs" are not supposed to be extended in robot mode. The leg extension is for when he's an arm. I like having the hood of the vehicle folded up like that because it looks more like a robot chest instead of the front half of a car on a robot's chest.

Later that same year, Defensor made an appearance in Menasor's gallery. Fictionally, I always felt the Combaticons were the enemy of the Protectobots but toy-wise I always felt the Stunticons were their opposite.
Anyways, the Protectobots have been on my mind for the past 11 years. I've wanted to do their galleries time and time again and man did it feel great to finally do their galleries after all this time. I can't believe it's been that long. It seems like just yesterday that I did the galleries for the Universe Protectobots and the G1 Stunticons and wanted to do the Protectobots galleries. Time can be my worst enemy when it comes to Seibertron.com. Not that anyone other than me really cares about this accomplishment, but it felt really good to finish them. Finally, they have been completed right before I get my hands on the Combiner Wars Protectobots.
Metroplex, Trypticon, Metrotitan and Gigastorm are the other ones that really drive me crazy that I don't have complete yet. And the large G1 Targetmasters and the G1 Headmasters. One day!
