Is this a repaint? Or entirely new mould?

It's about the 4th different color application we have seen applied to mold, 3 in the states, 1 in Japan. 1 in the states was a Botcon exclusive, but still...

Ok.
Vector Prime is the ancient Transformer/guardian of Primus sent to right the wrongs in the Cybertron series.
His US release was colored incorrectly. His Japanese release was colored more correctly.
He had a US redeco in gold and black (with a confusing title).
His body was used to make the BotCon toy 'Alpha Trion' with a new head mold. (Very very nice)
This incarnation is a repaint made to look like the 'Last Autobot'.
I almost ripped on you for not looking into this a little or at least reading the thread. Almost.
But...it's hard for those of us who have been around WAY before the movie sometimes to understand the perspective of the new gen of fans.
So....
Everybody gets one.

Well, the picture i saw yesterday was really nice. Looks like sparkling new mold. But i don't have the old pics, and i don't remember very well this character to tell if it's a new mold or not.
Today's pic looks more like the old one. Then i read about "repaint" in this thread.
So i'm kinda confused if yesterday's figure is a new one, and today's figure is a repaint of the way old one. Or that we're talking of today's pic as a repaint of yesterday's pic.
Thanks for clearing it up.

I posted comparison shots between the Hi Res, HASBRO images they use for advertising, packages, etc., and the image that is posted of what the toy will look like when it is in everybody's hands. There is quite a difference, and one is certainly much poorer looking than the other. Guess which is which?

For Auto Bot and all those not in the know about Vector Prime.
This toy is just a repaint. since the Galleries are not fully functional right now, I give you some pics to compare of the various versions of this mold that have been released.
Original Hasbro Cybertron Vector Prime:
Original Takara Galaxy Force Vector Prime
Hasbro's Repaint. and misleadingly labeled Galaxy Force Vector Prime yet still part of the Cybertron Line:
Hasbro's newest repaint of the figure, for the 25th Anniversary Universe Line: Vectro Prime a.k.a Last Autobot.

I love repaints. It's true, it's damn true.
This sucks though.
Subsequent mold releases are supposed to grant us improved paint decos.
I fear this chilled economic wind is going to see a reversion to the days of yore where Transformers are simply 'toys' rather than 'brand product' (the later being something which Hasbro shows workmanship pride in).

well, the signs are showing my good sir:
-very sloppy paint apps on universe, movie
-animated qc
-sizes (at least in animated) getting a bit smaller
i've never had to return a tf to the store up until a year ago. and i've been collecting for quite some time.
this vector prime/l.a. repaint is the writing on the wall.

...anyway. i was saying.. does this look like a half naked chocolate bar to anyone else?..
i have the galaxy force repaint of this mould.. (the one with orange wings to avoid the aforementioned name confusion) which im guna go over with a fine detail brush..
its a shame that so many repaints are so.. lack-luster.. that plus the sheer amount of detail on this mould, not even given an ink wash... hence why im breaking out the paint and said brush on mine.. i can imagine it looking amazing when its done.. ill be sure to share with you guys..
but yeah.. pass on this universe repaint.. i appreciate what their trying to do.. but.. meh... registers as an epic fail at my end im afraid..
