With the leak of Studio Series Leader Blackout earlier today, it seems every other image online is coming out of the woodwork. We have an image of Leader Blackout that is the uncropped shot we saw before taken in Shanghai. We then have other images we saw before but clearer. It is the images of voyager Megatron and Brawl but as per the usual case with leaks, the images are still obscured. This time by a black marker (yay). We also get some promotional images for this line.

We learn of the steps for Brawl and Megatron as well. Megatron will be 32 steps while Brawl will be 36 steps. All of these coming from the usual weibo source. For a complete list of all the other toys part o the Transformers Studio Series line, you can click here.

Brawl 'fulfills the evil orders of Megatron'? What if Megatron just needs him to pick up his laundry from the dry-cleaners?

Here's hoping both voyagers are great. I want a larger Brawl to go with my deluxe. And I want a good voyager RotF Megatron to complete my Movie Megatron voyager set, including the alternate universe where Megs won DotM by killing both Optimus and Sentinel

Image

Hoping voyager Screamer is good too. and a Movie Bonecrusher is coming.

I like how the bios relate to the main battle each figure fought in

Hmmm I don't know how to feel about blackout, he looks cool, but his arms look to be overridden with Kibble. And if you want to see the unsrcibbled Megs or Brawl, just look at the also available panel below either of them. Yes I know its still a little blurry, but hey it works...kinda. ;)

Megs and Brawl would be great to get, but am I the only one that wants a good MV1 Megatron? The Voyager has the oddly implemented ice parts and I feel he's not accurately proportioned. The Leader was a good size if you'd want him to be bigger than Prime, but he's got awkward poseability, and some of the rubber parts are pretty annoying. Hopefully, Hasbro could revisit some previous designs if fans want them to make a MV1 Megatron, and hopefully his face won't be shrouded in black paint where it'd make the details more washed out!

When rumours first hit, i was hoping voyager megs was movie 1 design. It's the only movie voyager megs i don't have. The original just doesn't cut it, even if i custom it like the others.

Blackout looks good, I'll be getting him and have the Leader Forest Battle set complete (Best robot-movie action fight scene ever in my opinion)

Why a Voyager Brawl? Voyager Megatron I get, the old Voyager had a good robot mode and tank mode save for the wings.

A bigger Bonecrusher would be cool, but I read that's already happening.

I would like Takara to get another crack at the Arcee sisters.
Hasbro should really release those Legend 3 set vs Sideways. Would love the 3 sisters in Legend scale, or 3 different molds Deluxe.

More movie Constructicons, especially the ones with 2 legs would be awesome. The Dread that has a dog mode in deluxe form would be cool. The Dumptruck Decepticon.

Takara / Hasbro are doing excellent in the toys department, don't even need these but very cool. Too bad the last movie sucked worse than ROTF.

Brawl always was one of the best designs of the film and is actually one of the few that one could say is a good adaptation of the G1 character. (Not sure why no one ever actually acknowledges that)

With this voyager it's going to be one of the coolest transformers figures ever unless it's not so good in hand.

I know what you mean about Brawl :CON: , I have always thought the same (that he is a good adaptation of his G1 counterpart).
I am really looking forward to his Voyager Class. Another figure (or I should say two figures) that I would want made is the Mudflap/Skids Ice Cream Truck :BOT: , but as a Voyager, I have always the Deluxe version was too small, kind of like how I feel about Bonecrusher. I do doubt though that they will make the Ice Cream Truck Bros, considering how people feel about the two.

Much like the previous stories covering the Transformers Studio Series - a new line of new issues of toys from the live-action movie series from Paramount - we have some slightly erased images about a figure we had yet to encounter in our coverage so far: Autobot leader Optimus Prime, and a better look at Decepticon second in command and number 6 in the series, Starscream!

Joining the likes of Blackout, Megatron, Brawl in the Decepticon line of of toys, Starscream is shown in the packaged images below, though we get no real look at the figure at all other than some box art, plus a look at the 5th figure in the same line being Autobot Leader Optimus Prime, and a new shot of Brawl's packaging (number 12 in the line), with the figure completely erased from view. Check them out below mirrored from Weibo user tf-factory!

Dangit I cam here excitedly expecting to see new images of the actual figures. I wanna see Starscream muchly. Yes I'm impatient. This is very much likely my sole TF toyline for 2018 (movie stuff is my priority though I sometimes buy updated G1 stuff if i think it looks good or if a nice update of a fave childhood character though power of the primes has been mostly garbage so far so unlikely to spend much on that line).

Even from blurry photos these are looking very good (am assuming Prime's smokestacks are supposed to pull up in truck mode?)

I do hope there's a RotF Starscream deco at some point cos I really do love the cyber-tattoo look he has in that one and on the toys released from that film. Liking his buzzsaw too :)

From the looks of it, Optimus looks mistransformed. I do hope we get better images, and I have a feeling that they got the deco wrong on some parts on him like the side doors on his chest, speaking of, looks like the chest is a fake; odd since people said he'd be similar to MPM-4. Ratchet looks like a slender, taller retool of his DOTM deluxe, so that's not bad. Starscream looks like a shrunken down version of the Leader, and man is it odd seeing him without the tattoos. The Crankcase/Crowbar figure looks like a retool of Berserker; I wonder if they'll improve the issues some had with that figure.

Hadn't realised but yes you're right he does look like a retool. Which I'm fine with cos I really like my Berserker figure and haven't had any issues with it whatsoever (I was applying Toyhax stickers to it earlier though the main sticker sheet itself has an issue in that there's a large scratch across the right side but Toyhax are sending me a replacement anyways so it's all good). :D

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Bacem, we now have more images of the Studio Series line to go with the ones we previously saw for Leader Blackout and others. These images all come from the same event held in China a month ago but they are being released at a snail's pace from the usual weibo users. These images show us the best look so far at voyager Optimus Prime along with more of voyager Starscream and our very first look at deluxe Ratchet and deluxe Crowbar in robot mode. Crowbar was part of the list of toys included in this line, which you can see here, and seems to be a slight retool of Decepticon Berserker. We included an image below for comparison.

All these toys are scheduled for 2018 and should be at the same price points we saw in the Transformers: The Last Knight toyline.

Optimus doesn't look to good sadly, very different looking transformation scheme it already looks like. Ratchet looks like does from his DoTM deluxe figure just modified which I guess I'm okay with. Starscream looks fantastic but I'll keep with the leader class figure of course. And Crowbar? I want him. Just wish he was a voyager.

I need that Starscream so bad, despite the trash talk he's been getting from other people lately he's one of my favorite movie designs.I have the leader RotF version and I love him but this guy looks like the deluxe upscaled and touched up on, plus he scales better with my movie collection. I can wait longer on the others (Optimus looks mostly good, but I have a lot of Optimus already) but I want Starscream asap.

Didn't know of trash talk but he's my fave Starscream design and one of my fave TF designs ever (once I got used to him after a few months since the very first reveal of him over 10 years back) and this toy looks very promising from the photo.

Comparing Crowbar to Berserker, more parts have been switched out than initially thought:

- the head
- the lower legs? and feet
- the arms?

Is that the new standard now?

Called it, knew Crowbar was gonna be that specific remold. Which is fine, he SHOULD be similar to Berserker/Crankcase. Will definitely pick him up.

Gonna need some more images of that OP before I make a call on him, he looks a little...wide? could be the camera, the pose, or just a mistransformation, but he looks like he's been having a few too many energon donuts or something in that image.

Ratchet looks bad. Could be the angle, but he's appears really skinny with thick legs, and the big panel flipped down his back isn't fooling anyone.

That Starscream is tempting! I wasn't even thinking about grabbing him, I already have the voyager from the first movie and the leader version from HftD, but he looks really good, and that saw hand makes him pretty unique compared to the other figures we've gotten of him.

Got mine when Tesco did a sale a few months ago and had Deluxes for £14 down from £23. Of course it was all Wave 1 cos most shops still haven't gotten to wave 2 but I hadn't got Berserker by that point so was quite happy to make the purchase. He's fun. :)

Someone on another forum pointed out that Prime seems to be a heavy retool of TF4 Evasion Mode Optimus.

To name a few similarities:

- The shoulders and upper arms being one solid piece
- The chest panels appear to fold in from the sides
- The front wheels of the truck are on the hips

This is purely conjecture, but it's an interesting theory nonetheless.

Also, to those worried about the proportions, most of the figures (particularly Crowbar) look pretty egregiously mistransformed. Crowbar's legs, for example, should be in a digitigrade stance like Berserker.

With the Transformers: Studio Series line just around the corner, with new teases every week that will hopefully soon lead up to the official reveal, we bring to you news that the line may be even closer than we think. Despite not being officially revealed yet, with only fuzzy images showing us boxes and some fuzzy display images, Walmart has listed 2 of the Studio Series figures on its website, though both are minus any images.

What's interesting about the listings is the use of Starscream's actual name for his listing, but the other listing is for a character named, or codenamed, Radar, suggesting some of the figures may be using codenames, just like in the recent The Last Knight toyline. Who "Radar" refers to is unknown at this time, but we are hoping the official reveals are just around the corner!

I think Caesium might be onto something, since I just thought that the rear wheels might take some engineering cues from M-01 Commander, where the "middle" tires can be relocated to the hips, creating that double tire look that Movie Prime has.

Crowbar looks like a good retool. I loved the designs of the Dreads and Wreckers. Now we just need Leadfoot and Hatchet in deluxe scale!

"Radar" is almost certainly Optimus, it's listed as a voyager and he was the other wave 1 voyager in the original leak. Plus, I doubt they'd launch this line without an OP available right from the start like every other movie line.

Re: More Images of Transformers Studio Series Leader Blackout and Voyagers Brawl and Megatron (1927265)

For those who cannot wait to see more from the upcoming Studio Series line, which features new toys of characters from all across the Transformers Live Action films, you are in luck. While we had our first really good look at the upcoming voyager Optimus Prime a few days ago, we now have an image of him in his packaging which gives us our best look at him yet. We see from this that it is without a doubt a new mold. This is number 05 in the series and is part of the first wave of voyager figures along with Starscream. The image was found on the Snakas blog.

The packaging also gives us some new info. Firstly, we see the generations logo. This may not mean that they are part of the "Generations" line per se, but more of an indicator as to the type of toy it is. That was previously done for the Age of Extinction film, where the toys were labelled as being "Generations" as well. While it might be confusing, it seems Hasbro deems it less confusing than their latest try at differentiating these toys with one steps and the like with their "Premier Edition" branding, which did indeed infer a comparison. So now it's back to "Generations" to let you now you can expect the same type of complexity.

The other bit of interest comes from the Takara logo on the box. This further solidifies the idea that, as with The Last Knight toyline, the Takara and Hasbro products will be identical for the most part, including the packaging (which Takara would then add a sticker to). This was originally hinted at by the lower Japanese prices we saw for this line compared to other Takara Transformers products. The prices for this line in Japan was the same for the Transformers: The Last Knight Toyline.

So seeing this trend of Takara and Hasbro releasing the very same products in both their markets, how do you feel? Does this further contribute to the notion that both companies truly feel the extra sales from collectors importing (either Japanese fans importing Hasbro or westerners importing Takara) toys from outside their market are not substantial compared to the savings of standardized toys and packaging? Or do both companies simply focus on their own markets without giving a thought to any activity happening outside it, be it beneficial or not?
