For those unaware, this is a Walmart Exclusive in the US (and presumably in other countries where Walmart operates).
Enjoy the images and click here to be brought to the original post for more.

I'm guessing there's a typo there, unless I'm having a brain event.
ETA
Oh, just got it, it's a simple missing T to make wha into what. Whew, glad it wasn't my brain. I need that to live.

featuring a $99.99 SGD (72 USD) two-pack evolution-esque set of Deluxe Optimus Primes: the Dark of the Moon mold and the 2007 Protoform mold!
$72 for two deluxes? I dunno about protoform but deluxe DOTM OP is NOT worth $36 in any universe I live in. Even at half that price it'd be a ripoff. I hope it's just local market forces driving the price and it'll be much cheaper if/when it winds up in other locales, because holy smokes.

I wonder if they'll give us a traditional Hot Rod deco later down the road.

We already know how much it is in the US: $40

While it's a shame the chest is not raised and the feet are Lockdown's this Hot rod seems to be a good figure for him.

The Silver-gray is kinda plain looking - I need to see what it looks like next to the blue Grey Original - not something I'm going to be chasing though with much enthusiasm.
Optimus seems very similar to the original mould - I like the gun though.

ALso it's a bit odd that on the box Bumblebee is the main focus and pushing Hot Rod off the edge. As if Bee doesn't have enough attention already.

Where do the weapons come from that the figure is holding in that collector's images?

From what I can tell, the lower legs and more importantly, the basic skeleton is reused from Lockdown, with the new Hot Rod parts built around it.

One of them is AOE Hounds gun and I don't know about the second but I assume it comes from the same place.

I still wish weapon packs were a thing. Just a whole bunch of random and awesome guns, swords, shields and such with 5mm posts. Easily equip weaponless figures without depriving others of theirs.

They were a thing at one point? :O
I really do wonder why Hasbro or Takara don't release playsets with their toys

Not for Transformers as far as I can recall but other toylines have had them including Hasbro's own GI Joe.

More of a reason for me to bye multiple Getaways as Autotroopers.

I mean, Lockdown to Hot Rod seems about as similar a change as Titan class Metroplex to Titan class Fortress Maximus was.

I'm not quite sure if he'll be sold here in my country since we don't have Walmart but I'm crossing my fingers.

A better comparison would be CW Skydive into Air Raid, or any other major CW retool for that matter. The only difference is that it's not pre-planned and the retool ends being taller thanks to longer body parts.

Kurona wrote:More news from that same Weibo post as we have some new stuff about the toyline for The Last Knight as well! In this case, the packaging for the Toys R Us-exclusive Mission to Cybertron Infernocus figure. A redeco and rather major retool of Beast Hunter Abominus, we see here that the packaging proudly displays Infernocus in his combined form along with the tiny little Quintessa figure on the side. Take a look and tell us what you think in the forums!
I may get it. I want the Quintessa figure more than a bunch of Prime legions but Infernocus looks kinda neat combined.

Correct. As evidenced by the back of the box:

Just CGI rendering errors with color

This ain't black unless it turns out I colorblind. Should have listened to those clickbait videos.

Hasbro stock photography has a penchant for being saturated and lighting-altered. I was never expecting they toys to look like that.Terrsolpix wrote:Sabrblade wrote:What do you mean? I wasn't expecting an exact replica of the CGI renders, but the main color being changed to pitch black is quite a surprise, even with hasbro's track record.

Mot getting the deluxe?
The transforming shampoo bottle is the only one I am not getting. Getting the deluxe most certainly. And every other one too save the shampoo.
Hot Rod does look good, but he should have been based on a better mold, maybe to add his door wings?
Also holy cow can't wait for Infernocus!

We have such a list for Australia, thanks to some super sleuthing from Griffin of Ozformers. As he says, this is very handy to know what is coming so that Australians can know in advance what exclusives they shouldn't wait to find and instead plan other ways of acquiring them. In short, it seems like Australia is mainly getting all the Toysrus Exclusives except for the Cybertron Planet toy. There appear to be no plans on any retailer to stock any toy of Hot Rod.
Here is the full list of exclusives Australians should be seeing in stores:

C2022 MTC Legion TF5 Figure 2pk (TRU) (already found at some TRU stores here)
C2023 MTC Deluxe TF5 Figure (TRU) (this could be both Skullitron and stealthbomber Megatron)
C2024 MTC 5 Bot Combiner Infernocus Figure (TRU)

Also it'd be cool if we got a larger scale CW-compatible Infernocus. Never gonna happen but it would be neat.

My hopes is for the Combiner Wars line to be resurrected at some point but this time, it will be the BEAST combiners.
Predaking, the Seacons, the Horrorcons, and those from Beast Wars 2.0 as well.

That would be awesome, though if they do the Seacons I wonder if they'll just scrap the "Scramble City Targetmaster" gimmick. It'd be a shame if they did.

My guess is one will be chosen to be a legend as they did with CW.

First of, Hot Rod is the Walmart-exclusive character for TLK, like Stinger was for AoE
Secondly, product codes! From the looks of it, the Legion and Deluxe ones are for the whole assortment, not individual figures. Toys 'R Us did that earlier with RiD's Clash of the Transformers.
