The silver stripes and the red bumper on the cab make this a very weird hybrid of toy and cartoon incarnations. On the plus side, it breaks up the colors in a nice way.

If Hasbro releases Ultra Magnus (which I'm hoping they will announced at BotCon), then here's hoping for a toy accurate version. I'm not a fan of the red bumper. I get being "cartoon accurate" but sometimes it just doesn't translate well into a toy.

I'm down with that.

Agreed with bossman Seibertron: if this sucker gets a Hasbro release here in the States, I'd be a happy camper.

Meh... I could get used to a red bumper. But I, too, will not be upset if the (hopefully forthcoming) U.S. version has a more toy accurate colour scheme.

As long as hasbro doesnt add flames, I will buy one, looks very nice, makes me wish arcee a nd springer next to him.

Maby the red bumper is detachable and there is a chrome bumper included?

I'm hopeful, but I don't see hasbro releasing a toy of this size. There's no size class that it would fit into.This will end up costing as much as 3 or 4 large MP figures. But I didn't think they would release prowl stateside either, so I hope I'm wrong, but my preorder is staying locked in bbts.

I don't care if the red bumper is cartoon accurate , it looks like total crap and will be repainted into silver if I get him.

There is no size class that any of the other MPs or even the Platinum Editions that Hasbro has released fit into either. Yet that didn't stop them from releasing those.

Wow the color images show this may be the easiest master piece to transform yet.

The top rack splits into the arms. The bottom bed becomes the legs and chest and it all folds around the cab. And the head probably pops out of the cab. I don't remember a masterpiece that's transformation was that easy to describe.

I'm okay with it being easy when it's so beautiful and detailed, I'm very curious about the cab though is it just to house the head?

It looks to me like the cab turns completely inside-out, as the cab's roof becomes the robot's butt flap hanging down from the backside of the waist.

I agree he should have been made to look a little trimmer and he wouldn't look shorter than he actually is. I love the headsculpt. But I'll only get him if he shows up stateside naturally cheaper. I'm guessing maybe next summer or as a TRU Xmas 2015 holiday release. For now it's the 2nd run Stack with the issues corrected. Same price and doesn't look like a miniture cosplay.

I'm with the silver bumper idea. That red bumper, while show accurate, is awful! Bad idea if you ask me.

Im usually all for cartoon accuracy, but tnis is one of those rare instances where it looks like shit. Rather see some nice chrome. Todays a good day not to be an MP collector.

The only thing I find that is not accurate is the lower legs with the red. in the show, his lower legs were mainly blue, with the white panels in front. The show however wasn't always consistent from on minute to the next. I'm just going to chalk this up as a nice blend between the toy and the animation model. He looks AWESOME!

As far as the red bumper goes, it is cartoon accurate:

Yeah, the reason they did that was because of the placement of the red lower legs in vehicle mode needed them to be red for the car carrier's bed. Otherwise, the car carrier would have been solid blue and white with no red.

As a cartoon fan, I utterly love the red bumper! My only disappointment is the red lower leg. The interior trailer bed does not need to be red because there won't be much visibility once you load the MP cars inside his trailer. Therefore, that whole rear trailer bed should've been blue which would give us a nice solid blue lower leg. However, the bottom folding panel side of the trailer, that should stay red.

The red bumper is cartoon accurate. Never realized that his bumper is red in transformers the movie. I think all masterpiece color schemes should be based on TFTM. I think UM looks great - only complaint would be the red on the legs. Would look better in both modes if it was blue.

How have I never noticed the show UM had a red bumper until now? I don't mind the legs being red. I love the design.

That's solved by a hinge between the legs in carrier mode that rotate round to make the leg blue in robot mode. It does mean more plastic of course.

Darnit, now I can't complain about his red bumper! :p lol, well, it looks a little weird. But who am I kidding, he'll spend most of the time in robot mode anyway.

I think vehicle mode is slightly mistransformed. It looks like that red flap in front of the rear wheels is supposed to pivot on that joint to make a long red stripe along the side of the trailer.

I want a comic accurate version, you know ... the one with the inner white robot.

why trimmer? Magnus is supposed to big and bulky!

Looks like his chest is on the inside of the front of the cab. Transforming this is going to be sooo much fun

Looking at the final colours, the only thing I don't really like are the red lower legs, other than that this is awesome.

Those comparison pics makes me wanna have MP-22 more and more.

as for the bumper, i have a (sort of broken) spare MP10 i could trade bumpers with, but as its been said already, he'll be displayed in bot mode anyways. so i dont mind.

I am disliking this figure more and more. Stupid red legs. And a red bumper? Really? Some things don't translate well from cartoon to toy.

Yeah the chest looks like it does fold out of the cab alright, but the back of it, not the front. The rear wall of the cab contains the matrix chamber, judging by all Ive seen online, including the concept art. The cab looks like the wheels fold in under themselves, and allow the rear of the cab to fold roughly where the gas tanks are, which end up on Magnus' shoulders. Also it looks like the interior of the cab rotates head-over-heels forwards too once the back has folded down, and the front has done that double fold to become the coat-tails. I get the impression that the cab then kinda U-clamps down over the cab-end of the trailer to become the head, front chest and back.
And Magnus' upper-back seems to be the floor of the cab flipped and facing backwards.

Cannot wait for this to come out.

Is this the first we've seen of this Spike and Daniel? It seems likely that a domestic MP Magnus release would include them as well, like the Spike that came with the last MP Op, but I may have to spring for the Japanese release just to be certain. It's Season 3 overload!

It looks pretty good. Cab mode is great. Bot mod still kinda chunky. This was never my fav ultra Magnus design anyway so probably wouldn't get it.

it looks nice, but the cab is probably just a hollow piece of plastic like citizen stack. Looks to just clip into the chest area and hang off the back. same mold as MP10, without the transformation.

So we get a red bumper, because that's cartoon-accurate but toy-inaccurate...

...but red inner thighs, because that's toy-accurate but not cartoon-accurate.

Who makes these decisions, anyway?

The cab does not become a separate robot (unfortunately). As far as I know, there should be no partsforming.

Ok, so his similarity to Optimus' cab is simply esthetic and the cab mold itself is totally different? Because from the pics it seems that the legs are surounded by an exo armour coming from the large trailer part. Its almost as if there is a smaller robot leg pegged in.

Am I the only one to see/think this?

Also, are any of you guys going to be ordering from amazing japan, since it's at a discount for preorders

Now only if someone would merge certain parts from cit'stack with MP-22..... We'd have thee perfect Magnus!
