Fellow Seibertronian Shajaki has found this listing on Toysrus.ca and this Platinum edition seems quite scalper proof. Not only is there a limit of 2 per person, but it is also $199.99 Canadian ($140 US).
If anyone is curious as to how this redeco of Air Attack Optimus Primal looks like, we have already seen some in hand images here. The listing also offered us some new stock images.

I have the original so there won't be any surprises here. I'm just a big BW/BM fan, and while it was intentional or not he's basically a new Primal Prime (which I love).Hellscream9999 wrote:Do you own the mold at all? I do (passed up rid Scourge for that piece of junk ) I don't really wanna crush your dreams, but first find out if the electronics have been gutted - I honestly don't remember - but even if they aren't, I can't really recommend it at that price, unless you really want itshajaki wrote:I can't believe how expensive this thing is... not sure I'll get one unless its locally.

MP PROWL. Way overpriced $70
MP BLUESTREAK overpriced $60
MP STARSCREAM don't get enough
CYBERTRON STARSCREAM (reissue)$100 WTF?
ORANGE MP SOUNDWAVE $200 and ugly
And so on. Sad.

To be fair, I feel the Hasbro MP11's are more than reasonable. And the cars so far are priced pretty much the same as Takara's being sold by importers like BBTS. I feel the prices of exclusives have the right to be inflated, but I can't support the recent prices of these things. Even if I'm one of the few that actually like them.Kup98ss wrote:These overpriced exclusives are ridiculous. They will sit for a year then be clearanced off. Once again Great marketing decision Hasbro/TRY.

About the similarity to the BBTS prices, I raised that argument several times in the MP bumblebee thread and I think the main backlash is that since these are no longer imports, why would they be priced as such .

Good point. Very good point. Perhaps when I argue such things I'm just trying to justify things for the sake of my own walletwilliam-james88 wrote:About the similarity to the BBTS prices, I raised that argument several times in the MP bumblebee thread and I think the main backlash is that since these are no longer imports, why would they be priced as such .shajaki wrote:To be fair, I feel the Hasbro MP11's are more than reasonable. Here's praying nobody in Chesterfield wants this figure... allowing it to be discounted incredibly so I can afford it. :3

200$ in Canada. Which translates to 140$ in the states.
I have no clue why this would be more expensive than the already very expensive YOTH Starscream since they are the same class size.

It was a rhetorical question, actually - but thanks.
Reasonable price or not, I can't afford it at full retail. So here's hoping for clearance.

You're better of just getting the original. I owned it at some point and I had buyer remorse. It's not that great of a mold. So, I sold it.

I think I may celebrate the Anniversary by trying to hunt down a Transmetal Optimus Primal. I never had one as a kid and it's kind of the Beast Wars Holy Grail for me.

Man I was just shocked at the size. When I saw the pics of it, just by itself with no sense of it's true scale it just looked like a crappy little Beast Machines Primal (Also those colors are not doing him any favors). I had no idea it was huge and had electronics.

shajaki wrote:This talk just hammers home how friggin weird the scale was on the Beast Machines toys. It's almost like they were trying to go for some unforseen giant scale with Supreme Cheetor/Primal, Ultra Nightscream, and Mega Rattrap. But then dropped the ball on, well, all the rest. The most accurate looking Thrust and Tankor's were basic's for crying out loud. That entire line needs a do-over. And I would pay all the monies for said do-over.
Indeed, BMach Redux would be awesome, scale up the tank and cycle drones to deluxe and get a more efficient design for the jet design, and they'd be off and running
And maybe downscale this guy to voyager, or something, OH! and lose the dumb punching gimmick, and the light-up head, and give him a new head for Primus' sake, it's super creepy with it's hollow eyes and perpetual surprised-derp-face it's got going with it's mouth; if they did that, it would be sublimely perfect

I was pretty content with the Voyager (Mega back then?) Primal. But I can't tell you how much I want a screen accurate Jetstorm. I loved the character and model to bits. He was the first TF I remember seeing that I said "damn... now THAT is an alien design". Which makes way the hell more sense than them sharing our humanoid forms.Hellscream9999 wrote:shajaki wrote:This talk just hammers home how friggin weird the scale was on the Beast Machines toys. Totally agree although I was super happy with the Supersonic Jet toy we got which had the more jetstorm accurate colours. He also had this cool option of having his feet in hover mode like the show.

As a toy though, the Jetstorm we got was cool, and had a neat transformation, but he certainly didn't look like the show.

It turns out this figure is NOT exclusive in the US since both Amazon.com and Toysrus are currently carrying this figure. They are both currently shipping and selling this figure for USD $149.99.
At this price will you be picking it up? If not, what price would make you change you mind? Let us know in the discussion!

That's around 209$CAN! So, our 200/CAN price tag is close enough.
Still about 75% WAYYYYYY too expensive.
