I know the legs were like that on the original toy, but the knees probably don't bend that way on these toys.

Actually, I'm suspecting that the actual knee joints will be in Silverbolt's feet rather that in the limbs' chest. The connector port is directly connected to the head I see now, we'll have to see how it all works out.
And sweet! The connector has two ratchets, one for the hinge and a swiveling peg too!

But Silverbolt's arms appear to form Superion's thighs. Silverbolt's legs appear to make up a portion of Superion's torso.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Backwards foot again.

Superion's knee joint looks to be in Alpha Bravo in this pic:

Wait... are you saying Silverbolt is making a handstand in torso mode?

And notice that Silverbolt's torso winds up on Superion's crotch.

Well I'll be! Nice catch With this, I'll have to give the designers credit for thinking outside the box.

Yup, the first wave has 3 Aerialbots and 1 Stunticon, for the second wave the opposite is true: 1 Aerialbot and 3 Stunticons. So expect to see a Menasor with Air Raid for an arm.
Posted by Nemesis Maximo on December 1st, 2014 @ 6:02pm CST
Granted, the designers were limited by the designs from the game, but still.
Posted by Robogeek1973 on December 1st, 2014 @ 6:21pm CST
Menasor however doesn't look good to me at all right now.

Argument? What argument? I cannot argue what I know to be true. To do so would mean it is my opinion.
But, to satisfy your wish, I would say that Alpha Bravo is a cool addition to the new generation of toys and would love to see more new characters. I am sure we will see at least two more new figures as far as the combiners go. Since this is generations I would love to see Bulkhead created for the G3 line. Or maybe even Lugnut. But, I would say the BEST news for this line is the possibility of an Ultra Magnus being released. And the part is that it seems to be its own mold. Not some lame Optimus repaint.
on the subject of the Motor-Master mold i do agree that it would be a better Magnus IF it had a car carrier trailer or a missile launcher trailer or sadly a magic mushroom for something like PE AOE Optimus
but what exactly is Generation 3? from what i can figure out it would be in the G1 family
Posted by RiddlerJ on December 1st, 2014 @ 7:38pm CST
I get it's the helicopter mode but does anyone know why he still couldn't be Slingshot? It wouldn't be the first time they changed a character's alt mode.

Yeah there is no "G3" as it were, it's something he made up himself.

It's not quite as obvious on Fireflight, but on Dragstrip it's more so. Probably based on Hasbro's choice of color.

Yeah, this drives me crazy. If I didn't know that was the combiner peg I wouldn't think anything of it, but it's weird just seeing it folded down making up such a huge portion of his front. Maybe if it was painted differently or something.

Yes, here in the community, we call them the "Stolen Chinese Blood Money" editions of figures. At least I do.

Perhaps they couldn't trademark anything remotely similar to "Slingshot" and decided since they also couldn't have 5 separate red-and-white jets within a short time period they just went with a new character entirely.
Or, to borrow TFWiki's joke, Gold Plastic Syndrome is worse than we thought.
Incidentally, how the heck did G1 get away with making the majority of the Autobots red and white?

I don't mind the combiner port chests, except that nearly every limb-bot has it. Makes them too homogenous, which is the last thing these guys need...

Maybe some nice third-party company will sell a plastic widget to snap on and cover them up.

If we were getting predacons, that'd change things, since they all have unique chest plates.
PLUS, Breakdown and Dead End don't seem to suffer from that problem much, so not every character will be like that.
It's a nice homage.

No, I didn't make it up myself. It is G3, no matter how many of you geewun fans want to pathetically live in the 80s. It is easy to understand. Lets count.
1984-1991 G1 ONE
1992-1994 G2 TWO
Stick with me now. The next one is a biggie!
2013-present G3 THREE
There! You learned how to count to three today! Yay for you!

Actually, you kinda did. "Generation One" and "Generation 2" (which is 1992-1995 btw) are or have been in official use by Hasbro and its licensees. "Generation 3" would be a fan term by our definitions as it's not in official use. Plain and simple.
Also, the current Generations lines and the IDW comicsw may not be G1 in its pure form, they're still based on it, and as such some feel it has to slavishly comply to every concept already established, like Slingshot here. And they have every right to, as we have the right to disagree with them

Like I said before, I really really hate how the terms "Generation 1" and "G1" have so many definitions that cause confusion like this.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Also, the current Generations lines and the IDW comicsw may not be G1 in its pure form, they're still based on it, and as such some feel it has to slavishly comply to every concept already established, like Slingshot here. There's "G1 the 1980s toyline", "G1 the Sunbow cartoon", "G1 the Marvel comics", "G1 the Dreamwave comics", "G1 the IDW comics", "G1 the continuity family", "G1 the Wings Universe", "G1 the 1980s era of the brand" (this one Shockblast2 seems to be focused on the most), "G1 the Classicsverse", "G1 the Evolutions comics", "G1 the Blackthorne comics", "G1 the Regeneration One comics", "G1 the Japanese manga" and so much more. I really do wish we had more diverse terms to refer to all of them than just the confusingly catch-all "G1" and "Generation 1" terms.

That's probably where the main problem lies: the lack of a proper term for the lines and media based on the old Generation 1, like Generations, the IDW comics... basically anything beyond 2000.
And no, "Generation 3" will not cut as it's implied to be a sequel to Generation 2, which it isn't the way shockblast2 is using it.
