Most Decepticons would say the Autobots are doomed. Dead End is the only one who would say the same about the Decepticons. He's convinced the end of the universe is right around the corner, and he's going out with his blasters blazing. -Hasbro

That also gives more backing to the rumour that he will be released in Japan under the MP line.
Perhaps, but I find that hard to believe; the heads may fit famously with the MP line, but not much else. Isn't "Unite Warriors" more likely?

Alpha Bravo - So Scandalous He Needs His Own Thread
Why not make it a more general thread, like Replacement Combiner Limbs - So Scandalous They Need Their Own Thread, just so we can include Offroad and Rook? Why should Alpha Bravo be singled out?
Well Offroad is at least painted like Wildrider in alt mode for those who only care about displaying Menasor. And Rook was more of a solution to the Groove scale issue. But Alpha Bravo was a blatant insult to G1 fans by Hasbro. Wh created him ? Why ?
Notice on his TFwiki, his IDW continuity is a whopping 2 sentences. No pictures, backstory, or listing of what issue of which IDW comic he appeared in. Does anybody even own this mysterious comic book where Silverbolt dies and Alpha Bravo takes his place ? Or is it just an urban legend made up by pro IDW fans ? Somebody please take pictures of the actual comic...

I can't agree more. They may be nice for a mass release like CW or Unite Warriors, but those constructicons are NOT MP caliber, by a long shot

But at the same time, we are also including Generations Megatron and Legends Bombshell in Combiner Wars while Takara is not. Those are sold as part of their Legends line and TAV line respectively. So right there, the two lines are not in synch.
I see good points for both outcomes. Though if Devastator is released in the MP line, I dont think it would be as individual robots, but instead as a big gift set.

RID #33. The image on TFWiki is the only panel he shows up in. As many of us, me included, have said multiple times.
You don't read the comics, you don't care for them, you dislike this new character. We get it. It's fine. Neither do other users on here, and it's also fine. Some of us do, and that is also fine.
Let's move on.
In other news...

For the record silverbolt is still alive oh and slingshot is just heavily damaged but meh, we dont need him, he's surplus to requirements really.
And if I ever met the person responsible for his design, I'd buy him a beer (or whatever his poison)

Dead End wouldn't like being used to make an Autobot or won't care, and vice-versa. Dead End and Streetwise are another pretool pair, like Air Raid and Skydive, and Offroad and First Aid.

It really does look nice. For a new line, they really have made some really nice looking stuff. I think that's what some people seem to be forgetting; it's a new line, not MP. Who cares if Alpha Bravo is in or out, in my collection, it won't be the end all, be all Superion anyway. I'll wait for an MP, and get this as a place holder in the mean time, which could be many years. What irks me, however, is the thought that parts of this line could be rebranded into the MP line, which would be a seriously bad move. For people willing to pay upwards of $80 for a single car, then it'd better be perfect, which is what that line hits 95% of the time. To include the new Devastator, with his glaring flaws and obvious compromises made due to price point would bring the entire line down. If an MP Devastator is coming, I'd expect each constructicon to be in the $80-90 range, and also look like it. The CW line is great for a mainstream line, but it is not high end collector grade material, and I'm sure it's not intended to be.

Well, Wheeljack does say that Slingshot is "gone" and consistently refers to him in the past tense. That seems to pretty strongly suggest that he's dead.

For those not old enough to remember, Motormaster came out at a time when 'Goliath' on Knight Rider was still a recent memory, so he made a perfect fit with the Stunticons.
Go Garth Knight!!

I agree that MP is its own thing and any re-branding as you describe would definitely bring the line down. I am curious as to why the CW Megatron and Devastator are so close in size to their MP counterparts. If they are trying to kill two birds then does that mean we will never get those figures.

I don't think they'll never happen but I do think Devastator is a ways off. And as far as Megatron goes, a line that prides itself on being incredibly g1 accurate will not have a tank Megs. Since there's been no official announcement of MP-25, maybe he's next, who knows? Patience pays off with this line.

There. I said it.
Honestly, I do hope Slingshot and Wildrider get here eventually. I'd rather we get new additions to teams rather than replacements. As someone who loved his Stunticons as a kid, I'd be miffed if the original G1 teams were NEVER going to happen. On the flip side, I won't complain if it's just a waiting game. Ironically, Wildrider was the elusive chap keeping me from finishing Menasor back then. Until mom, like a boss, special ordered him at the counter

Any one of us old timers had stories (urban legends most of the time) of the kid stopped for having a gun that turned out to be Megs, as all of us are aware of the need for the "orange barrel safety plug" attached to pieces to designate the piece was not, in fact, a working firearm.
Hasbro likely has weighed the pros/cons on this one, and decided that attempting to release him here will be too much trouble, should there be any negative news stories that their product gets attached to. Regardless even if this is what is happening, you know they will dance around the issue, because if a Hasbro rep was asked at a convention or show, and said something to the effect of-
<Hasbro will not be releasing Masterpiece Megatron for North America or Europe as his gun form may cause problems.>
-would at best bring upon then the wrath of certain members of our fandom, and at worse possibly find themselves being targeted by organizations like the NRA turning their reluctance to sell something gun-related into some kind of right-wing conspiracy to keep kids from embracing gun culture. It's silly, but sadly we live in a society where that is a plausible situation.
After all there was a reason that Classics Megs was "Nerfed" so to speak.

I would never expect Hasbro to release a gun Megs, but that in no way precludes TT from doing an updated one. Hasbro is understandably stand-offish at the thought if it, but who relies on Hasbro for MP releases anyway? If you did so, you'd miss most of the line.
