Quillfire's transformation reminds me of Beast Hunters Bulkhead.

Fracture sets the bar pretty high. THoof is looking a little disappointing, but the RID line hasn't let me down yet (that includes OP).william-james88 wrote:I wish Thunderhoof had a lower helmet to visible face ratio. Quillfire's transformation reminds me of Beast Hunters Bulkhead.
That BH Bulk is a fun figure and I can feel that. When I saw the first pics of Quillfire, I thought he was made from a heavily retooled Strongarm base. I guess an SUV looks like an SUV looks like an SUV, no matter what color it's cast in.

Swirly brown or gold plastic?

Honestly, I'm just happy to have (collectively) a whole wave's worth of Decepticon.
Is that an unused quill/shiv in the lower left of Quillfire's packaging?

See, I never had any issues with Beast hunters figures either. They were superb and had no structural issues or quality issues that I found

Thank you for pointing this out, Shuttershock. I saved it from the garbage that goes out tomorrow. Man that would have ticked me off if it had been thrown out with the trash.
I'm not quite sure what to do with the piece though. It plugs into the rest of the quills on the back of his head, but there's also another port where it could plug into his back. I haven't seen him in any episodes ... what does he do with his quills? Does he pull them out to attack his enemies? Would he be seen holding it like a knife?

Completely different. That's just swirly plastic. It's the sparkly swirly gold or brown plastic that has led to gold plastic syndrome in the past. It also takes time for gold plastic to breakdown to the point where there's a problem. I've never seen gold plastic happen to a toy right out of the package. It happens at least a few years down the road after the plastic seems to degrade or something.

He actually uses a large quill as a knife to make his "mark" showing that he was there and he did something.

He shoots them from his back at his enemies. They contain a toxin that affect the nervous systems of those struck, but differently for each target.Seibertron wrote:Shuttershock wrote:Is that an unused quill/shiv in the lower left of Quillfire's packaging?

He was in episode 11 and episode 17 of season 1.

Yeah, while I liked it before, that particular release showed me how seriously the engineers are designers are taking this line.
I am a bit saddened by Thunderhoof's side windows on the tractor, that black plastic doesnt work well at all. I might have to get Takara's version for this toy.

But really £17.00 for a Combiner Wars Deluxe? and £15.00 for a Warrior didn't ever make any sense they are exactly the same size and the only reason for a price difference would be either more paint or other qualities or a comic being included neither of which are in evidence in the U.K.
Congratulations for pushing me into the loving arms of the chinese KO makers Hasbro where I can purchase an exact duplicate Warrior Class toy that is twice as Big for £7.99 or one with Metal in it for £9.20.
If they don't get their act together soon on doing something about Action Figure Prices It's a hobby that I will express totally via internet sources as I simply can't justify paying Voyager Prices for Deluxes of such middling quality at retail - thus putting another nail in the coffin of retail in the process. The sad thing is that this perfect storm of bad choices and some elements possibly beyond Hasbro's control has been the one thing to put me off buying many Transformers in 2015 - but with the pricing being a little less fantastical I'd have had a dog in the race and been a lot more likely to buy things anyway like 3-Step Changers & Deployers - which I've not done especially now I've finally just recently and for the 1st time seen a Deployer in person and found out how very small they are.
Shame really, but I just can't square the circle of poor quality and high prices like that - you know things are getting silly when you can buy a Legends 'Deluxe' from Japan for the same price as one in a Supermarket and sometimes less and at least know it is more likely to have been painted correctly.

I am so glad you feel that way. I couldnt believe it myself. This is a crazy level of ingenuity I would not have expected from this line, simply because Hasbo keeps indicating that it is for younger kids. That engineering is as good as any of the best mainline gen figues (and for it's originality, even better in my opinion).
And so you wont be surprised that as soon as those galleries go live, I will be using those pics for a list

I think quillfire is even better pulled off than thunderhoof. Those exposed quills made all the difference. Its really impressive how the animals can hide away their big animal features in vehicle mode. Be it Steeljaw's tail or Quillfire's quills.

Steeljaw's tail was very clever, and I do love the quills here. They are his defining feature, and they nailed it! very impressive. Now if only they'd do a warrior Clampdown and Underbite....

I would need a voyager underbite. And with Takara around, its not as much of a pipe dream as it could have been.

Very true, but at least I'd like a bigger one. all we have is the legends (which I have) and the one step, and they are woefully undersized. Heck, one step barely seems big for the legends class guys
Posted by ScottyP on January 13th, 2016 @ 12:40pm CST
- 3-Step Underbite
- Warrior Filch
- Warrior Clampdown
- Warrior Hammerstrike
Then some kind of Ped, Scowl, and Octopunch could make for some cool alt mode variety. Doubt we'll see a majority of those but man, there are so many cool Decepticons in this series to work with that any more are very welcome.

It's hard to impress me with bike figures, but they did a great job. If I had any complaint, it would be about his weapon. It's not bad, but it's not good either. It serves it's purpose as a part of the bike mode, and I'm fine with that.

I love it, it has a natural design, so the butt can rest properly in his shoulder, and if you turn it so its facing with his fingers, he can hold it from the midpoint quite well

I would adore a Hammerstrike! He is my number 1. Filch less since we have yet to see her robot mode in action.
And I actually would really like a kickback, that design was very impressive.
And while an Underbite would be fun for a collection, I dont find his transformation and design all that interesting. Same with Scowl who's transformation is the same as any of the Prime Predacons.

I have the little legion figure and I would love a voyager or larger figure for Underbite. I don't see how they could make the transformation much different though. And that might earn Hasbro a little more flak, but voyagers don't exist for this line in Hasbroland anyway.william-james88 wrote:I would need a voyager underbite. At this point I will be getting all the warrior figures. I don't normally go for beastformers, but I really do like these beastbots that turn into vehicles. Like it's been pointed out its fun to find animal bits hidden behind panels.

I wonder if you pull any of the Minicons to pieces and reverse them so that you have less of them sticking out when docked in the Deployer - or would it require a custom part ?
I think they look a bit big when plugged in and not so good with the bare grasping part showing.
