Griffin picked these up, along with Super 3 step Bumblebee in Hong Kong and made a quick gallery showing the alt modes (for the first time) and how the figures look like at different angles. He also compares them to other figures to show the scale. Below is a quick comment from Grffin as well as the images he took:
The huge Super 3-step Bumblebee was at a number of Toyfairs earlier this year, while the transforming Titans were shown at the Australian Toyfair.
Now they are out in Hong Kong, here are some photos for people to know what they will be missing... as I don't think there will be many of us older collectors getting these.
The "transforming Titans" originally had me thinking of the Elite Actionmasters (a simple conversion of a non-converting line), but these are better than those... but not by much.
They don't actually have "Titan" on the packaging anywhere... but it was what they were labelled as at Toyfair... so maybe it is on the master cartons.
All three could do with more paint apps too, as there is a whole lotta yellow on plain colors on these, and not much sculpting/texture to the panels to make it look more interesting.

I have a coworker who have a young son. The wee one is a big BB fan. That toy will blow his mind!
As for the "transformable shampoo bottles", they better sell for 10$, not more.

This is the first Optimus in the line where you can tell where the trailer starts and the truck ends.

I find the amount of 'waste of petroleum' comments hilarious.
Planets finite resource.
Being used to make a plastic toy that will not further the progress or health of the natural planet. It's being wasted to begin with technically making toys in the first place...
We have about 10 years of peak petroleum use in manufacturing and then begins the projected decline of another resource. And then I should imagine toy quality will properly drop or at least become pricier.
If people really, sincerely gave a shit about petroleum use in toy production - outside of personal wants for toys, then we probably wouldn't be on here...
Anyhoo, these new RID figures clearly are not aimed at the collectors market so i'll skip but that really big 'bee does look impressive at that size.

e.g.
1/ This was a waste of time.
In the above, the adverbial, "waste of (time)", is used to suggest that an undefined amount of a resource ("time") is being wasted. It does not suggest that "time" is limited.
2/ This is a waste of a limited resource.
This use of the complement, "limited resource", is more coherent, as it clearly states that (something) is limited.
Obviously, there is a difference in inferrence here, but the original writer may not have implied that plastic was limited, but merely that the toys were a waste of said plastic, regardless of the amount available.

I would hope human beings of all things would be aware that time is limited and not have to be constantly told that it is.

This. I don't understand the extreme, all or nothing viewpoint... yes, all toys are a waste of petroleum, but some engage children with entertainment and educational values. That's like saying in order to be eco-friendly you must live in the forest in a treehouse, or supportive of animal rights you have to be a strict vegan who doesn't eat Jell-O or honey.
These are shitty toys, and the plastic could have been used for other things. They shelfwarm hardcore, and besides a very limited market of 2-year-olds, I can't see anybody buying these except for out-of-touch grandmas for their grandson who would rather have leader Megatron.

The Legion figures from RID continue to roll along with Underbite and Fixit. While both aren't the best a Legion toy can be, Underbite has a solid vehicle mode, while Fixit has a very expressive robot mode. Overall if I had to recommend one go with Underbite as One-Step Fixit is the better overall representation of the character.

Haven't had any enthusiasm for the RiD line. The show has none of the heart or novelty that TFA had, and thus the figures don't either.

Shame, I was considering getting them from Amazon 'till I saw the new price. That's okay. I finally found Drift at Walmart and he should amuse me for a couple weeks.
Seriously, Drift kicks ass
JazZeke wrote:*sigh* That Jazz figure looks like crap, but being the Jazz collector that I am, I feel obligated to get it.
I thought Jazz was a little underwhelming at first as well, but then we got in-hand images. It seems that, like Drift, he's a lot better looking in person, and now I can't wait to get him.

Hold off until the Takara release. Maybe like Bumblebee, the deco will be significantly improved.
I know I will wait... Unless I see him live in store during a sale, like Drift.

Takara figures are out of my price range, and anyway, my issues with the figure are with the mold just as much as the paint job. It doesn't look worth spending the extra money on it even if I did buy Takara.

You American? Because Even with shipping, Takara figures are not that expensive anymore compared to today's TF prices. Especially when you pre-order them at the right places like Amiami.

He's got that meh face. The face is surprisingly detailed. I didn't really give him a good look until I saw the picture posted here. I activated the noise button pulling him out of the box and it caught me off guard.
Look at his tiny little hand holes. Is he supposed to hold deluxe scaled weapons?

Yeah, the 5mm compatibility help enhance play value by allowing this or any 5mm compatible figure to hold just about any Transformers weapon accessory in this day and age.MrBlack wrote:carytheone wrote:MrBlack wrote:That face has dull surprise written all over it.

I myself would never buy this, especially at full price, but as someone who bought super-sized Playskool Rescue Heroes Epic Optimus Prime (at clearance for $9.00, to display my Bot-Shots,G1 Robot Heroes, & Kre-Ons) I can't totally hate this. But sheesh, for it to not even have Legends-level articulation for $50?

Like maybe make an ottoman from him or something.

To be fair he has them on the back of his hands as well which he can use to hold guns in a less silly fashion. I like to use Combiner Wars Prime's guns with him.MrBlack wrote:The big Rescue Bots Optimus Prime has 5mm pegs in his hands as well.
