The same source (weibo) that gave us the in hand images of Combiner Wars Smokescreen has also posted an image of Betatron, a combiner made up of Scattershot and any other limb you like (since he is released as an extra torso). The source has combined him with the 2016 Wave 2 deluxe figures made up of Hound, Wheeljack, Trailbrekaer and the aforementioned Smokescreen. Below is also an image that Seibertron took at Botcon when Betatron was initially revealed. As you can see, unlike what was hoped by a few fans, this was a very close to final version afterall and there are no distinctive differences. Let us know if you find any and of course, please give us your thoughts on Betatron on the boards!

Once everything is all said and done from Hasbro, you can make TWO combiners with only this basic mold. G1 and G2 Dead End and Wildrider, Streetwise, Prowl, Smokescreen and Dustup. You can even have a third combiner if you have the Takara versions of Dead End, Wildrider, Streetwise and Prowl as well. I'll be using my Takara Streetwise as a lazy Silverstreak. At least Takara's "Galvatronus" won't have that mold in it too.
Everyone's worst nightmare is realized: 2 combiners made of only 1 single limb mold....

Well not that that's been revealed, I'm guaranteed not to purchase Scattershot. He's a lazy remold/recolor of Silverbolt (I'd hoped for Cyclonus levels of retooling) with no original limbs. Sucks, because he and the Technobots were some of my most cherished TFs as a kid. Let's hope Takara can do something more with the name.

Along with the unchanged head, I don't like the fact that The Chest Plate of Betatron is nearly the same colour as Scattershot's body, so it looks like a big red brick with arms and legs.

so far I have menasor and superion. Will get the protectabots and combaticons. Will get sky Lynx but will pass on cyclonus, the Optmus primes and the auto bots no matter how strong the urge to recreate the masquerade episode is.
Re scattershot, he's too similar to silverbolt and without a proper team to go with him... I'm sure there are sketches in a vault somewhere of all the technobots, terror cons and predacons. The latter would make a great second voyager combiner like the constructions.

I was really hoping that what we saw previously was unfinished but alas it was not. This is the first release from this line that I'm truly disappointed with and will actually be passing on.

Eh, easy pass on this one. I like the CW line, but that doesn't mean I'm going to get every gaudy repaint they make. When would it be available anyway? Aside rant: HasbroToyShop hasn't updated their online inventory in any significant way in months, especially for the combiner wars figures. They haven't even got wave 4 listed. And even the wave 1/2/3 stuff, like 90% is 'we do not have sufficient inventory at this time'.
They bellyache constantly that sales aren't 'what they expected' from quarter to quarter. Maybe if they had their stuff AVAILABLE for purchase they'd get more sales!

Since HTS is a third party licensed seller, hasbro doesnt get more money selling through them than Toysrus or Walmart (in terms of potential gross revenue, they get much less since HTS is only online).

I'm not Sure how I feel about Betatron. His robot mode looks decent but his torso mode is just to red. I can see the Tripredacus Ramhorn being remoulded into Nosecone but I don't what else Takara could use for Computron.

Since Unite Warriors are box sets in Japan they likely wouldn't interfere with their version of Titan Wars which will most likely either be parts of the Legends line or replace it altogether. So theoretically the only thing stopping them from doing more Unite Warriors is a lack of molds.
Since Scattershot is such a bland remold I'm more likely to believe he'd be an e-Hobby exclusive.

Say Hasbro gave THIS Scattershot limbs: one being the ramhorn one, one of the jets for strafe, another Dead end mold for the car and a redeco of Brawl for a new member (the only Hasbro toy without a redeco yet). Question for you, I know you want the technobots and I do too. But does what you see satisfy you? Say Hasbro gave THIS Scattershot limbs: one being the ramhorn one, one of the jets for strafe, another Dead end mold for the car and a redeco of Brawl for a new member (the only Hasbro toy without a redeco yet). Would this still interest you?

Well, that is the rub isn't it? I would skip it then, and just get the limbs, since I could put them on anyone - I care about that more. They would look pretty nice on sky lynx though

Although I would've liked to see more retooling and I would've liked to have seen a new combiner head, I'm fine with the new tooling they did do and even the old head. What I'm not happy about though are the colors of Scattorshot and Betatron's head. The colors seen at Botcon were wrong and the colors seen in these new pictures (even though they look oversaturated) are even worse. Betatron's head being the exact same colors as Superion's just looks stupid on the rest of the body as well. If this was the colors shown in the artwork for Scattorshot then I'd be fine with everything but Betatron's head not being recolored to match. Hell, I think I would've liked the prototype colors with the blue wings better.

Everyone's so spoiled when it comes to retools nowadays. Remember back when just a new head was a pleasant surprise?
Personally, I'd almost prefer a straight redeco if it meant the head was colored differently from Superion's.
As far as I know, there's been no announcement of Sky Lynx even having a wavemate. He might be accompanied by reships.

Perhaps, I would just like to know, one way or the other; maybe it will be the onslaught in alternate colors?
As for being spoiled, I don't know if I can agree with you on this one. Hasbro is the one trying to sell us the same molds over and over again, just look at how many 'dead-ends' (I count streetwise and company in this group) they want us to buy, or a/b's, or silverbolts. If they are gonna sell us the same d@mn mold over and over again, with the expectation that we buy it from them, then it d@mn well better look the part as deserving of our money
I don't mind that they're using the silverbolt mode, I didn't even mind the retooled parts - I liked them - but not doing anything to the part that most clearly tells us who he is supposed to be, and will ultimately set him apart from superion, sorry, I draw the line there, better luck next time 'round hasbro

IF Hasbro released the limbs and they were substantial enough color wise and looks wise (I still like Vortex and Blastoff even if they are repaints since they look different enough paint wise) I would buy them. If I would spend the extra money for takara, I would expect more remolding and much better colors (and for sure a little remolding on the combined mode for Scattershot), similar to takara Groove-wise but spread out over the characters rather than concentrated on one character. Either way, I love the technobots and still would not mind them as a combiner using old molds, but if hasbro released them, I would buy them unless they really look bad, and if takara does it I would want more and better retooling and recoloring.
Either way, I would get one unless it equals PRiD Airachnid in quality because I love the characters

That part, though, I'm with you on. I could have lived with them sharing a head mold if they had at least given it a new color scheme, but they didn't. And it's not even a laziness thing, it can't be. All the retooling elsewhere on the toy, and the combiner head doesn't even get a new paint job or a changed plastic color? Either this was an oversight and somehow nobody caught it, or somebody did it on purpose for whatever reason. Either way, disappointing.
