Hegemon (3rd party Megatron) update: more images, size comparison and price!

$99 is doable. I will get. I would like to see him next to a classics Prime and Megatron.

I'd really like to see more pics of him next to Classicsverse figs but this may very well be the first 3rd party toy I've purchased in quite some time.

Taking from previous pictures, My guess is that his sword splits into pieces, and makes different combinations. That pickaxe is part of the sword. At least, I think so.

I will plunk down the $99 for this fig for sure..

...this figure is AWESOME and with that pricetag, I'm down!

Assuming his production run is at least as good in appearance as these teasers, and:

1. quality materials (NON-cheap, "heavy" plastic)
2. no major QC issues

I am totally already on board for this...at a hundred bucks easily worth the most quality Megs we have seen in a LONG time.

Personally i never really the 3rd party figures, not interested in getting the insecticons or primes etc...

But... THIS I WANT TO GET!!! he looks awesome but im a bit concerned about the size of him he appears to be half the size of the MP prime so he would be just smaller than galvatron??

He looks pretty good. I'm not to worried about the scale thing, scale has never really bothered me. Really the only things I would change are the clear plastic and maybe find a better way to hide the trigger on his back.

99 bucks? I think I'll wait for the MP that will surely happen

Takara Masterpiece line,listen well and take notes. This is how a potential Masterpiece Megatron 2.0 can be done. And just to get this out of the way,here are some Masterpieces I would go shoot for next.....

-Soundwave+all the cassettes.i.e. Ravage,Laserbeak,Frenzy and Rumble
-A REAL Ultra Magnus and not just a crummy repaint of Optimus Prime,so help you Primus!!!!
-Galvatron-Rodimus needs a bad guy to bitch abo-Imean kick his ass with.
-ANY Citybot such as Metroplex and Fortress Maximus

Come on, they have to know that the one picture every fan wants to see is him next to classics/henkei Prime. Make it happen!

As for size, I have my FP insecticons right next to my classics Megatron and it does appear to no be too far off from the size of the classics version.

damn it !! i was really hoping he would go in scale with MP-10. I really wish Takara would make a Megatron that looked like he didnt have skinny legs or at least have better articulation

Really impressive. I'm pretty happy with my United Megatron (and his G2 incarnation, Classics Megatron ) so I'm not sure I'll be dropping $99 on it, especially considering the amount of other 3rd party characters I need to catch up on (Fansproject Insecticons and Maketoys Giant, mostly). I guess it depends mostly on plastic quality and any mold issues once people start getting their hands on him. Still though, top-notch from what I can see here.

Hasbro and Takara take note! This will be my new classic Megatron.

Awesome. I hope he is packed on robot mode with no mention of the gun mode on the box so that customs dont get all twitchy over it.

Hmmm. So he's not Masterpiece size for either Prime... I wonder if there IS a Prime that he pairs up with well. I'd like to see a comparison pic with Classics Prime.

I'll wait till people get their hands on him to find out what the QC factors are. He does look grand but I wish they would have done a better job with the back of his legs instead of leaving them looking hollowed out.

the newest pics next to voyager TF Prime make no sense. because this 3rd party megatron is only a half a head taller than TF Prime voyager prime.

the puzzling part is the newest pics/info list this 3rd party megatron at 19 CM tall. that translates to 7.5 inches tall.

their is no way that TF Prime's voyager prime is around 7 inches tall.

PLEASE IF SOMEONE HAS A TF PRIME VOYAGER PRIME. Then PLEASE can you get a tape measure & measure the robot mode from head to toe. not from toe to smokestacks in robot mode.

another puzzling factor is that yesterday the 3rd party megatron was shown next to 4 hercules constructicons. and the 3rd party megatron was chest,shoulders,head taller than these third party constructicons.

if the 19 cm is true,then this puts the 3rd party megatron at 7.5 tall voyager/USA Ultra size scale.

if the 19 CM is true for this 3rd party megatron. then this means those hercules constructicons,some are deluxe size & some are short voyager size like animated lugnutz height. if this 19 cm is true then that TF Prime voyager prime is a very tall voyager 7 inch robot mode.

With all that said above,i'm gonna buy this 19 cm 3rd party megatron in june 2012. i was hoping it would come out before march 2012.

getting back to size,i was hoping it would be at least 8 inches tall in robot mode. so it could be a similar size scale to faith leader who is around 7 & 3/4 inches tall in robot mode. i was dreaming it would be AEC 9 inches leader size but somehow knew that was just a pipe dream based of the fact all the pics showed a robot mode that just wasn't wide nor bulky enough to merit leader toy bulk + wideness in robot mode.

i'm gonna wait & pray bbts.com gets this for pre-order. as they are the only site i trust.

Just making the plastic opaque would make the back of the legs look much better.

OK, I'm officially torn on this one now. It's very All Hail Megatron, i.e. cool. I've already got all three Classics voyager Megatron figures and I think that mold does the job perfectly well. Will probably skip this simply because I'd be spending money on something that I don't feel is necessary for me. Roll out a Galvatron like this and I'll be in the lead pack for pre-orders.

Don't worry, I hear Takara is working on some kind of "subspace pocket" where extra matter would come from to flesh out those thin legs... would also be a great place to stash weapons and the trailer to various truck cabs.

$99 isnt bad for a 3rd party figure but its still pricy for the size, it is pretty much just a fancy voyager. Plus factor in shipping & tax and its going to be closer to $150. Its cool but not that cool, $50 or $60 would be a perfect price range for this.

Looks nice, and that price isn't too unreasonable. I think I can pass though, I already have Henkei Megs and he suits the purpose just fine. If this was more like $60 then I might consider.

I'm very skeptical of this site... I'm going to wait for BBTS or RobotKingdom to get the figure. To me, this reeks of some sort of e-crime waiting to happen.

I just checked it out, and I'm skeptical too. Their only other item is Dr. Wu's Protector faces and they're only charging a dollar? What about their other stuff? What about other 3rd parties?

Toyworld is linking them, but I'm still going to wait until a bigger name picks it up.

Ya know... I don't even think that's the real Fansproject Bombshell... looks like it could be the KO. I don't see the chain and something seems off about the colours of the weapons.

Wait wait wait. It's voyager sized? Now that elevates my opinion of this a little, especially if it's only a hundred bucks.

However...

There's one big issue I see here. The inside of the legs are lined with translucent plastic for no particular reason. Now I'm sure I'm not the only one here who can agree that this is a horrible design choice. Seeing as said plastic is housing two major joints intended to bear the weight of the figure. Now with Hasblow I can see such a mistake easily being made. But when a fan company whom should be expected to put a great deal of thought into making a figure does something like this, like when Fansproject made the panels that hold colossus' arms in place so thin, it just makes me want to scream...

exactly its the same reason i havent preordered giant from upgrade commander as its the first ive heard of them.

the reason I think this site is a faker. is because yesterday had a different site that showed pics of the 3rd party megatron with some hercules constructicons. this 3rd party megatron appeared to be a tall $27 usa 8 inch ultra or short 8.5 inch leader sized toy next to the voyager sized hercules constructicons.

You guys and your conspiracy theories are really taking the wind outta my sails...I was super excited for an actual g1- and cartoon accurate Megs who wasnt all "mary-kate and ashley" skinny, had a good mold and was good quality.

Now, though...I dunno. Now I have to resist getting my hopes up...and like some others have said, wait until BBTS gets them in stock to verify they are legit.

Still, nice pics to look at though

I'm considering this route.

Same here, if this were available at BBTS, TFsource, or RK it would already be pre-ordered. I would even bite if this Third-Party Store took PayPal. I'm considering going the pre-loaded CC route though, because I really want this guy.

I never said it wasn't a legit toy.

I guestioned the recent site who hosted pre-orders & pics. i said this site might not be legit & maybe did photo shopped fake pics.

It's up at Robot Kingdom for $99 with a ship date of June 2012. I got it for $115 shipped, can't wait for June to come.

you're a brave man trike...personally i will wait until I hear a little more about this project before committing over a Hundo to it...non-color teaser molds 2 weeks ago, color shots with alt modes / size pics last week...now already up for preorder?

Too soon with too much possibility of something going wrong IMO...but more power to you.

Besides, I still have my last 2 not-constructicons to order in that timeframe. Now, if April or May roll around and there is still alot of buzz about this, then I will commit.

Chains can be left off - they're not glued or molded on. It looks fine to me.

The pic shows that Megatron's head is slightly higher than the top of OP's grill which is 18.2cm (7 1/8th inches). Top of the gun barrel on his back is 20.6cm (8 1/8th inches).

Classics OP at top of head: 16.7cm (6 1/2 inches).

So is this the ultimate classics megatron? i think it dam well is!

The size of this guy is a bonus i always seen megatron as slighty taller and bulkier? compared to optimus prime

This is a must for the price i think its bang on for what you get the size the weopons look great and alt mode is class its about time this was done

Its going to be an expensive year with all these amazing 3rd party figures i cant see much of my money going to retail this year with sixshot, megatron, arcee, runna brothers and trailbreaker in the makeing

i dont want any prime toys as of yet i was gonna get arcee but look what came along and as for generations is there only one wave to come or what? and movie trilogy ...well ill wait and see whats in that.

Thanks for the comparison. I don't mind him being SLIGHTLY taller than Classics Optimus as I won't have the two standing directly next to each other.
