Seibertron.com board admin Burn has pointed us towards Australia-based fellow fansite Ozformers, where regular reliable source griffin has posted an interesting report from their latest dealings with Hasbro. It appears that two new Masterpiece figures will be showing up at general retail very soon: along with Takara import MP-24 Star Saber, Hasbro MP-06 Bluestreak (confirming its existence, number and general greyness) should be arriving by late April/May! Read more here or below.
Some new info emailed to me from Hasbro Australia. (thankyou to them of course )
We know that the imported Lost Age Stinger toy is supposed to be in ToysRUs stores this month, but two other toys have now been confirmed for release here within the next couple weeks, as they have recently arrived at the Hasbro Australia warehouse and are on their way to the TRU warehouse.
TakaraTomy MP-24 Starsaber - the next of the HK imports.
Hasbro MP-06 Bluestreak - the first of the three known American Masterpiece toys for 2015. (the other two being Sideswipe and Starscream)
It also is the first official confirmation of the MP number for Hasbro's Bluestreak.
Starsaber was something we've been expecting here for a little while, and it has been noted by Hasbro that the October release date at ToysRUs is an error in their system, as Hasbro are not intending to sit on this stock for 6 months now that it is in the country.
It was also noted that the "Sunstreak" was meant to be the Hasbro Bluestreak... but somehow ToysRUS got the name, the MP number, AND the date wrong.
Although, to be fair to TRU... their release date of May 16th is close enough of an estimated release date, to the "next couple of weeks" estimate from Hasbro.
(I asked Hasbro Australia about both, just to clarify the confusion that TRU had caused us.)
For anyone wondering, the Hasbro version of Bluestreak looks to be the same grey/black colours of the Japanese version, in the standard (big) Hasbro red box.
I just want to say, that it is surprisingly unusual to have the Hasbro Bluestreak come out here before it has even shown up as a pre-order at online stores, or even before samples have shown up on ebay.... which was why I wanted to verify it before posting it. (I was actually told last Thursday)

Slightly misleading to have a picture of the blue / silver MP-18B Bluestreak added to the news article about Hasbro's MP-06 (silver / black) Bluestreak confirmed for Australia, isn't it?
Conversely, perhaps this news should deserve its own topic instead of linked through this MP-18B topic.

Agreed. This is likely to confuse several people since the article shows the wrong figure.

Wait..WHAT?! MP-11 based Starscream?! AND FINALLY Sideswipe?! All in the U.S. of A.?! Rumors are rumors but THIS "seems legit"!! If HasTak had just released Bluestreak/Streak in blue back in the first place, it wouldn't be so bad Yes I know, Diaclone. Still, pictures on my "Silver"Bluestreak manual show a BLUE Datsun. Life would've been easier with the blue and then animation color. Oh well, more figures for all of us to buy/want

You don't hear anyone complaining about Silverbolts name, do you? There's not a lick of silver on him. Why is that?
Sorry but this is just one debate that always pissed me off and just further proved to me how blatantly ignorant and stupid so many folks in the fandom can be.
All complaining aside, this is one beautifully done MP. It's just a shame that we didn't get this one sooner but hey, at least we finally have it and they have done an amazing job on it.

It has been discussed many times, even in this thread already. Personally I believe it has nothing to do with the literal definition of bluestreak. Point out one instance where he talked "a bluestreak" in the cartoon or Marvel comics, because it's a character trait he doesn't have.CrankyOldTruck wrote:What always got me was that people always bitched about the G1 toy being silver, except for the very brief original run with him being blue and silver, when in all reality, his name has absolutely nothing to do with his color and everything to do with his personality. This belief doesn't make me ignorant or stupid. So again, you can state your thoughts without making blanket statements like that. Many people share your view on the whole "Bluestreak" debate and I didn't say anything like that when their opinion differed mine.
And FYI: HasTak never released him in blue. It's a common misconception.

Alternity Prowl/Bluestreak?! That'd be awesomeCobotron wrote:Actually the Nissan z350 IS the newest evolution of that car.

Also, correction sir, the 370Z is the latest version of the famed Z cars. They even made it shorter and lighter than the 350Z!
Also, if anyone is looking for the 4 door version of a Z, look to the Infiniti Q40 (formerly the G37/G35) in the U.S. not the Altima (or even Maxima, the fabled "4DSC"). Same layout, front engine-rear wheel drive (or all-wheel if you'd like, which isn't available on the Z).
I really can't wait for this version of Bluestreak. Blue is awesome.

Just had to look it up.
That baby looks even more akin to it's early 80's predecessor. And this one would make a sweeta$$ Bluestreak!
I was in LA (the land of cars) this past weekend. I was eating dinner with a group of friends, and in mid sentence, when a silver 84' or 5' Datsun Z rolled by. I stopped, head popped up and followed. Everyone laughed that that car got my attention. They laughed even harder when I told them It's my favorite transformer.
I'm really excited for 18B. Really!
Posted by galvatron00 on April 15th, 2015 @ 10:05pm CDT
I thought you would, they really have tried to take cues from those 80's versions! You can really tell with the rear quarter windows. And the body lines. And the shortened rear/front overhangs. It's good stuff to be a car fan nowadays.Cobotron wrote:Well I stand happily corrected.

There was a game a few years ago called Tokyo Xtreme Racer (still have it for Dreamcast) and you could build one of those Datsuns (the last 'boss' drove one). Mine was gunmetal and black. Aww yeah.

I really don't want to step in something here, but..his original tech spec says exactly that- he talks a blue streak to keep his mind off of the fact that the Decepticons destroyed his home. It's right there, in print, and pre dates marvel and sunbow. They chose to have him as a minor background character, but he should have had diarrhea of the mouth.

There you have it. Should have. Based on a bio that holds little ground for the popular media that drove the franchise. Besides, that bio holds true to Blurr, but not Bluestreak.Desslok2201 wrote:I really don't want to step in something here, but..his original tech spec says exactly that- he talks a blue streak to keep his mind off of the fact that the Decepticons destroyed his home. Problem with disagreeing is, he doesn't have much of a personality beyond "Such senseless violence" from Transcontinental express".
I'm pretty sure he talked excessively in issues 4 and issues 10-11 of the Marvel series (written by bio/character creator Bob Budiansky) for other examples.
Also, Transformers Universe made mention of his Disperser rifle firing a devastingly powerful but somewhat inaccurate blue beam.
So there's that.
