I don't think so, it was officially part of the generic line.

Single releases hardly ever get a dedicated line from Hasbro. In fact, until now, all Masterpieces were put in whatever line was handy.
:EDIT: Note how it says "Cybertron Commander" and not "Autobot Commander".

But OP, not Convoy, kind of weird for that mix. What name does Takara use for MP-10? I know they used Convoy for MP-1, as I have that one.

MP-10 is still Convoy!Optimum Supreme wrote::EDIT: Note how it says "Cybertron Commander" and not "Autobot Commander".

I was really hoping if Hasbro reissued this toy that it'd end up as MP-09 just to keep it different. It was already handy having them use '0' in the ID numbers, so one could say "MP-8" and mean Takara Grimlock, or "MP-08" and mean Hasbro Bumblebee. Oh well.

That can only last for so long, you know?

Also, if Hasbro is trying to align their Masterpiece releases now with Takara's, they've got a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go to catch up.

I think this will actually be the third release by Hasbro. There was the first one, sold via TRU, then the reissue of the same figure via Hasbro Asia. That reissue is still available on BBTS, for one.

not really, you can always add leading zeros, like mp-010 or even mp-0010

Even the unpopular ones (Acid/Sun) didn't stick around forever. Bee is the only one really, and that was only due to the horrendous price.
Yup.... not looking forward to the hunt

Also please, please don't be a straight up repack of an earlier version. It probably is though.
To be fair, I'm sure there's got to be a segment of folks that drove demand for this. Anyone here that still hasn't picked this up over its history of plentiful global releases from Hasbro and Takara, where this release is the one where you're thinking "at last, I will buy that"? Note that I'm not talking about repaints either. The Hasbro one had the TRU run and I think two Hasbro Asia runs, and Takara's fifth or sixth run of MP-10 came out early this year/late last year iirc.

There are always new collectors who weren't around for the prior releases.

It was a dumb statement, you're right to be confusedDeadCaL wrote:So was the original 'not' in G1 colours? I'm confused.
Both are indeed in "G1 colors", just slightly different. They're identical aside from the shade of blue used, the eyes, and the lights on top of the cab. Many people think the lighter blue is more accurate, but the dark blue is actually closer to what he looked like in the show.

Then yes, its the same mold.

Exactly the same, barring any other arbitrary TRU markup.

Maybe 09 is unlucky on cybertron, so they skipped it like some buildings on earth go from floor 12 to floor 14, no floor 13.
I'm thinking too hard, aren't I?

Anyone know what I can do for the dead-looking eyes on the figure? I'm currently negotiating a price to purchase the Takara MP-10 from a fellow Seibertronian and want to see if I can get the necessary tools to make the adjustment so I can bring Prime's eyes to life.
Let me know with any solutions?

Thanks!

TRANSFORMERS Masterpiece Optimus Prime (MP10) from Hasbro
This TRANSFORMERS Masterpiece Optimus Prime collectible figure will definitely be a favorite among TRANSFORMERS enthusiasts at this year’s show. The figure is an MP10 variant and the perfect Masterpiece figure for any fan to start their collection! The figure features a unique color variant inspired by the original TRANSFORMERS: GENERATION 1 animated series. Featuring a high level of detail and intricate articulation with poseable fingers, the figure stands at 9.5 inches when in robot mode and converts between robot and truck modes in 24 steps. The Masterpiece Optimus Prime comes with numerous classic Optimus Prime accessories including the Spike Witwicky figure, Orange Energy Axe, Matrix of Leadership, Ion Blaster Rifle and Roller Unit. The Matrix of Leadership accessory is comprised of mostly die cast metal and a blue, gem-like center which can be carried in the figure’s chest. Fans can fold the Ion blaster Rifle in half and store it in the figure’s back. The Masterpiece Optimus Prime figure also comes with a trailer that converts into a battle station and a repair bay. Rubber tires are also included.
While no stock photography was available from Toys R Us of Optimus Prime in-package as of this post, we do have an image of the package which we reported on early last month.
