HASBRO has answered the questions that the staff of Seibertron decided we should submit based on ALL the fantastic entries from our community. Too many to choose three from, and unfortunately, it seems this time we wasted a portion of one, but some answers regardless.

Check 'em out:

--Are there plans to release toys from the video game such as Protectobot, Arialbot and Seeker?

(HASBRO 1) We do not have any plans to release these characters/figures anytime in
the near future

_______________________________________________________________________________________

--Will we every see the third Arcee sister as a toy and will she come with instructions on how to transform the three toys together to make a bigger robot? If we are not going to see the instructions officially, can we please see them unofficially?

Plus, is it true that Skidz and Mudflap can transform together to form a bigger robot?

(HASBRO 2) While we do not want to confirm or deny our plans for the future, it
would make a lot of sense to release the third ""Arcee sister"" and with
it the instructions if they combined together. Needless to say, you will
just have to wait and see!

As for Skids and Mudflap**, their individual deluxe figures do not combine
together to form a larger robot.

**While we all knew this about the deluxe class toys, I believe the original intent of our question was to discuss the concepts of the twin characters, and if they were to planned to combine in robot mode at the beginning...sorry folks.**
_______________________________________________________________________________________

--Will you ever be making toys for the other Constructicons in ROTF? The ones that we have not seen a transforming toy for such as Scrapper, Hightower, etc.

(HASBRO 3) Unfortunately, there are no plans at this time to release any
additional Constucticons past those that we have currently announced.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

So there are the brief, and to the point, answers that we received. Thank you again for participating.

Those are the questions we picked? Hmm... well I guess there were enough people asking.

Hm ... looks like the staff needs to get more involved with answering more questions for people because I think most of the staff here could've answered the 3 questions above, and perhaps we can help come up with some harder questions for Hasbro. You know ... ones that might make them squirm and aren't so easy for them to answer.

Given how far away the next movie line is at this point (and that the relevant movie hasn't been made yet) I'm still working on the assumption that we'll see more Constructicon moulds in a couple of years when the next movie rolls around. Beyond a bit of fairly loose long term strategy it's not like Hasbro's going to have that line planned in any great detail at this stage.

I spent the last 1/2 hour replying to some of the questions for this month. I'll try to do a better job of helping to answer questions in the future so that we can get to the real meat and potatoes questions. Maybe the staff can help answer some of the obvious ones?

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=55503&p=980034

Maybe we could make this a new feature ... "Seibertron.com staff answers your questions that Hasbro didn't answer from July 2009"

damn... what happened to the questions about the classics 3.0 line up? future cartoons/figures and premiums for the ROTF line??

I'm sorry but these 3 questions were kind of a waist of a chance to get some kind of answers that would have been reeling us for days..

I'm going to be on point the next round.. and ask some thing we should get some answers to.

I think that 3rd party manufacturer questions should definitely be left out.. on any rounds we do going forward..don't want to rock the boat or waste a question

but atleast I know that the video game figures aren't on the table.. which kinda sucks.. these answers were kind of negative all around..

kind of a downer.. :-(

Is there a reason why there are so many Star Wars questions answered but only 3 for transformers questions? :|

I think the next 3 questions they answer will be,

Will you still make more Transformers? Yes.

Really? Yes.

REALLY? Yes.

Thank you for your time.

Because Hasbro answers 3 questions for each Transformers site that participates whereas it appears that Hasbro answers the questions for Star Wars directly on their website. I'd rather have us get 3 questions answered than have Hasbro answer the questions directly on their website.

Please don't bash Hasbro over this guys. We'll make sure that we ask some harder questions and limit the questions that we send them next time. If we give them an easy out, of course they'll answer the easier questions. Why wouldn't they? The staff on Seibertron.com, or at least myself, will make sure we do a better job of looking through the questions in the future to see which ones we can answer for you since it seems that most of the questions that were asked I can answer. It's up to us to make sure that really good questions are getting asked. Let's all work together to make our end better for August.

So those were the best questions we had this time around? I think we're losing our touch here on seibertron. Im really surprised that hasbro isnt going to make a toy for scrapper. Guess they couldnt figure out a way to make it transform and look right.

As I mentioned, I'll make sure that the questions sent by the staff next time are better questions. In the meantime, I'm doing my best to go through all of the questions that were asked and answering them to the best of my ability. So far, only two questions have stumped me. The rest I've been able to answer.

Seibertron, I read your response and I have one thing to say: Dude, Hasbro should so hire you as a "Public Relations" guy (or a design guy to help with the galleries).

Actually, I do have one more question. Why are some of the Revenge of the Fallen lacking so much areticulation? Such as Demolishor, Leader Megs and Deluxe Rampage. Oh and why are Voyager SS's tattoo's peeling off? I have heard this flaw at least three times, including myself.

I have waited for weeks for the Q&A to return and this is all we get?

Seibertron, if you could, could you please tell me about any Premium plans? Hasbro definitely did say they would do, but all we got was a one worded 'yes'.

Then again, you *could* try to answer the questions I suggested. The questions submitted hardly contained relevance to the most suggested questions on the forum (except maybe the Constructicons) and the answers were very anti-climactic. (:|

Oh well, do try better next time! (When is next time?)

I'd love nothing more than to be working for Hasbro in some kind of way on the Transformers brand, for their marketing department, or for their technical department.

The staff on this site does. We send Hasbro a group of questions (maybe 10 or 20) and let them choose which ones they want to answer. We're going to really filter out the questions next month and help answer the ones that the staff on this site knows the answers to. You guys keep asking questions and the staff here on Seibertron.com will get more involved with finding the answers to your questions. I think once we start doing that, we can really sharpen up the list of questions and get to the real nitty gritty from Hasbro.

Actually, Hasbro specifically stated that they had NO plans for a premium series for ROTF.

I'll field this one, or rather two questions :P

Sadly, the sentence product and colors may vary really holds true here. The stock photos are actually made with prototypes, or the way they were intended to be released. However, the economic crisis hasn't gone unnoticed by Hasbro, and in order to counter it, some toys are simplified by lowering the amount of parts in a mold, making them cheaper to produce. As a consequence, some articulation gets lost (Rampage) and some features are omitted (Sideways).

For Starscream it sounds like a somewhat widespread Quality Control issue, one unnoticed by Hasbro.

Man these "Lawyer Approved" answers Hasbro gave us are awful. I'm sure down the road we will get Flareup and the other constructicons..at least I hope so.

Thanks for replying to my questions BTW. As far as the zoids question goes, I was just wondering if it was ever considered. Even as a Japanese exclusive line. Maybe thats a better question for Tomy Takara?

I really love everyone's response to these being horrible questions, and yet they were questions people have been repeatedly asking.

HASBRO is not sharing information at this time about anything in their future plans. It's all ROTF right now!

These questions went out before SDCC. Many of us had no idea of what was seen(literally) at Botcon, and there was minimal participation, especially by staff who had seen what was to come at Botcon, but did not jump in. Now that we have seen some of the SDCC stuff, we can ask more, but seriously...

I will repeat, HASBRO is not telling us about the next animated series to come, they are not telling us about Universe/Classics 3.0.

Well that sucks..

I mean they could have atleast answered 1 question about their future plans.. If they have any..

I mean where do you go after G-1 style transformers, Beasts that become transformers, robots and Beasts, New version of G-1 including Unicron.., and a live action line up, animated line up, and a classics update version of the G-1 toys reimagined???

I can't see them coming up with some thing that has yet not been done..

I mean I have ideas.. but I'm no Hasbro.. they'll probably go back to one of their Beast Wars ideas or something lame like that..

I have no grudge against Hasbro, but I still think that a pointed question about Rotf would have been cool..like the Buster Optimus Prime figure and if he will get released as a premium and if so would he have the closed face instead of the open version.. or something like that..

anyways.. I think the Answers from Hasbro were awful as well..

"do you have plans for XXXX??"

No we do not..

"Do you think that XXXXX?"

Unfortunately no we can not..

"What is the possibility of XXXX??"

At this time nothing...

I mean come on, how many ways can you stretch out no, and be ambiguous!! Sheesh...

I'd like to point out that Hasbro is no different than any other large company out there. They answer questions as they feel like they should and more often than not, it's mostly guarded answers due to consideration for how they want to control the flow of information. It is what it is. I have to agree with tigertracks 24, right now Hasbro is simply focusing on RotF in order to take advantage of its current presence in public awareness. It's just good business.

Do I want more specific answers? You better believe it but Hasbro isn't all of a sudden withholding information any more than before.

I totally agree but, unfortunately in this case, Hasbro is a machine of sorts like any company. It does what it does because of the usual business protocols where EVERYTHING needs to be approved. You and I as individuals can say "What harm could come out of one piddly little bit of info?" while Hasbro has a board of directors and whatever else they have in their management heirarchy deciding who says what and when.

yeah I know..

but it still sucks..

I think that maybe next time, the 10 to 20 questions we ask them should be indepth and material that if they chose 3, it is still hard questions they have to give a response on..

so I think much of it is in the wording.. the way they answer with the "Attorney" approved responses is like discussing a subject with a politician.. ridiculously frustrating..

they should be a bit more forth coming to the fan community since we are almost like a marketing arm for them..if we like something, then that like spreads to the consumer market outside of the fan community and helps drive a products purchase..

as an informed consumer, finding out better info helps me in wanting to purchase their products more..being an ambiguous consumer is not as fun and deters my interest in wanting to buy from Hasbro..

they should consider this in their answers next time..

You know, in re-reading these questions, I actually think they're pretty good questions.

No, they didn't reveal the location of the Grail, but they final answers to a few questions that have been lingering. They were speculation killers and in that regard, they were very helpful.

Also, Hasbro can bite my shiney metal ass for not making Protectabot.

Yeah but what can we do other than keep asking good questions as long as we have the opportunity to ask? Let's shine the spotlight on them interrogation style and they'll break down eventually, giving us all the info we want, hehe.

I don't think this would be a question Hasbro would choose to answer, and even if they did, you'd get a very generic answer...aka, it would be a wasted question even if it was something you were really dying to know.

The Seeker drone looks cool. I normally love the use of digitigrade legs in humanoid design concepts but not when they're done in an anorexic/chicken leg fashion. The Seeker drone's legs look like they pack a punch! Or is "kick" more appropriate?

Agreed. I have some ideas in mind.

But would they answer them? Reading the Joe Q&A's they have fancier foot work than what I see on dancing with the stars when it comes to dancing around a question.

August Results for the HASBRO Questions and Answers.

Seibertron.com knows you want hard-hitting answers, and are working on getting more questions that you might want to hear us try to get HASBRO to answer. Remember, HASBRO has a Revenge of the Fallen focus at this point, and does not seem very forthcoming for questions related to Classics/Universe, or the next possible cartoon that they are considering.

You should know that we are working on the process, but can only submit 3 questions, and can only return the answers we are given.

The next question and answer session will be at the end of September/Early October. Look for a discussion thread to be started in September so that the staff can work to bring the best questions to HASBRO for you, our Seibertron friends.

Here are our results for August. As stated the next Q/A will be submitted first week of October.

1.) How much involvement does Hasbro have int Japanese-only TF releases such as BinalTech: Alternity and Device Label? Why does HASBRO not want to bring those ideas, and molds over to the U.S., or outside Japan, for release domestically, or in other markets, or at least make them available as HASBRO TOY SHOP exclusives?

1)"Our relationship with Takara Tomy is one that is based on mutual
respect and collaboration. We work hand in hand on the development of the
Transformers product line in order to produce the best toys every year!

With that said, the Japansese and the U.S. markets each have their own
individual needs, thus requiring the development of specific product to
meet these needs.

2.) Any chance of doing Human Alliance Figures for other TF ranges, for example Animated, and Universe (ala Starscream and Dr. Arcehville, G1 Bumblebee and Spike, Chip Chase and G1 Prowl, G1 Ratchet and Sparkplug, etc.)? Is the Human Alliance concept a design element that HASBRO likes enough to carry over into its other generations of Transformers?

2) We certainly share your excitement for this new addition to the
Transformers line. As with everything new, we need to gauge how it
performs in the market before deciding how we want to move forward with
the line.

3.) Any expected re-start date of the Classics/Universe line? Are there any plans to re-release previous classics series toys for those who missed out on the original release? I. E. Classics Optimus Prime, Megatron.

3)"As we have mentioned in this forum previously, the Universe line ended
once the Revenge of the Fallen product line hit shelves on May 30th.
Therefore, there will be no new development for this line moving forward.

However, the design intentions behind the Universe line, such as
reimagining our heritage characters, will continue in some form or fashion
in the future."

these questions were good.. no doubt about it!!

1. so we now know that if you want to get something from takara Tomy, buy it online.. otherwise we may not see it here..good to know.. MP Megatron is a perfect example.. Skywarp and the variations with US starscream to Takara Tomy's Star Scream are good examples that we may get those molds but in different decos.. so the difference in Market is determined by the colors, chrome apps, and specific tastes..we now have that as official.. good..no more wishing on things I will go by the past releases as a guide to what Takara Tomy will not be releasing here in the us Under Hasbro's Label..and vice verse..

2. So the future of the HA line is base don the sales of the initial figures..nice.. I would love to see a super cool release of the Movie Optimus Prime larger with a Peter Cullen figure..

3. Sweet! so basically Universe and the classics line up as of right now is dead, and my not return.. but figures based on the original G-1 toys may be released in the future in an as yet unnamed toyline.. good to know.. so hope of getting a Classics Style Jazz and a Classics Style Shockwave still exist..

but to satisfy my hunger for all things classics, I am very thankful for that Botcon Punch/counterpunch figure coming out soon!!

So they are basically saying the Japanese market have a need better product than the US market?

Not quite. Here in N America. Transformers are seen only as a toy by 98% of the population, and thus that is what they get. Very few people would shell out 50 bucks for a transforming 2GB USB stick that turns into Ravage while they could get a 16 GB stick for 20 bucks. Thus transformers are sold to kids at prices their parents might pay. If they have to sacrifice some quality for that price point, then so be it.

Japan sees Transformers more like a collector's item, and such they are aimed at an older audiance with higher standards and more expendible money

Those questions were lame. I could have answered them all without ever being a Hasbro exec...
