Thanks to InDemandToys and KapowToys, we finally have a potential price, shipping date and stock image for the previously confirmed Walmart Exclusive G1 Vintage Optimus Prime reissue. Sporting the same curiosities on the box as the preview seen earlier at a show. With other G1 Vintage reissues already hitting sale prices, we can only guess that Optimus Prime will not be alone in this wave, and with the recent vote on Astrotrain Vs Perceptor, we also have had confirmation this latest spate of reissues is to run into spring 2020 as well.
Optimus Prime will be shipping late January with a price tag of £49.99 at InDemandToys and £47.97 at KapowToys.
With characters like Hound and Blitzwing being prominent characters in the movies, it would seem like an excellent chance for Hasbro to finally deliver a reissue of figures. What are you hoping to return alongside this legendary figure? Drop in on the Energon Pub and get that wish-listing gear grinding.

If you already have a good condition vintage trailer but a broken-ass incomplete Optimus, that reissue is a blessing.

I just polished off having all the G1 figures with an extra Bumblebees and extra Hot Rod.

That’s only happened once though. While Christmas shopping the past two weeks I picked up a hot rod a couple times and took it to a scanner and every time he was full price.
I know people are expecting this guy to be dropped in price but it’s more than likely not going to happen. Hot rod dropped ONCE and now he’s a shelf warmer while Devastator and Starscream and even the minibots have constantly sold out. That will probably happen with this.

It will depend on the demand/supply.
Look like they underproduced Devy and Screamers, but overproduced Hot Rod.
As for the minibots, they keep being restocked. I do hope their popularity will bring more in the future.

They were in the yellow Bumblebee displays in the action alleys but our Walmarts have moved them to the pegs in the TF section. Some people have reported finding them around electronics.Hellscream9999 wrote:EvasionModeBumblebee wrote:Just checked another Walmart, had a million of G1 Hot Rod but no minibots. Also the WM app is not accurate when it comes to stock. I've seen them at several stores that reports "out of stock". Brick seek probably won't do ya any good.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, as stores like Ross will have them for $5 later next year
that's where I found all my other recent Walmart exclusives

There is a few that are missing guns and what nots and it's open to interpretation but Takara can be just as bad like with RID/Car Robots Fort Max/Beast Wars Neo Trypticon not having all their accessories, but one of Hasbros oddest incomplete figure releases was the exclusive show accurate beast wars primal/megatron, where megatron had a part removed that made it floppy in robot mode. Just dont let them near load bearing walls and all should be fine.

10th anniversary Primal/Megatron toys r us exclusive set, a part in Megatrons torso cavity that helps the dino parts lock securely in to place, was removed.

It could be just a wide production error. Like for Universe Onslaught with his siren that only go with a single "woop".

That sounds like a QC issue. Do you have a link to details?

I bought that 2-pack when it came out and never transformed Megatron until a couple of years ago. He's solid as a rock, all his parts lock in place without a problem.blackeyedprime wrote:10th anniversary Primal/Megatron toys r us exclusive set, a part in Megatrons torso cavity that helps the dino parts lock securely in to place, was removed.

Really the only case of Hasbro removing something integral to a figure is MP Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime since you can't form RP's alt mode without it. You could possibly make an argument for Hasbro not including a second gun with Titan Metroplex or Fort Max not having the sword at retail. But Hasbro has a better record of including nice extras with their collectibles like the extra tapes with MP Soundwave (not to mention reissue SW and Blaster) or their 25th Anniversary MP-1 with the Hasbro-original sound base (Takara Tomy would get their own version later). The new reissue Starscream didn't have to include a Megatron Gun, but it did.

If he thought that was an issue that affected all of this set, maybe it was because it was the first batch produced or something. Anyone else over here had such a QC issue at the time?
2017 was QC catastrophe for my Transformers but I never thought every single one of them had the same defects, or a feature was "removed".
2018 was MUCH better QC wise. I didn't bought as much transformers as last year, but I had NO QC issues in any of my transformers. That's what I can call a nice improvement over the 10 or so incidents I had back in 2017.

blackeyedprime wrote:There was videos around at the time, cant seem to find any now although the back kibble not locking is mentioned in a few, Could just have been a QC issue on the first batch. Sadly I sold mine and when the buyer complained - I had never transformed it, which is something I now do with all my tfs, found videos saying the same thing was a known issue with the figure and compared it to the orig as well otherwise I would have been oblivious to it.
Must be a first batch thing.
It would not have been the first time and it will certainly never be the last.

Unfortunately, the thread that it linked to with the details is long gone, what with every thread from before 2007 having disappeared from the site. Even using Wayback bore no fruit in my finding.
Luckily, I do have a decent memory of which part was reportedly missing. It was some sort of black ring-like piece that is supposed to be inside Megatron's torso that was missing.

One thing to notice is that this is the single door version. While Hasbro have not made any comments about this reveal yet, it is likely that this will be the next release in the Walmart reissue series, along with the already leaked trailer less G1 Optimus Prime.
