The future for Transformers is bright as ever. GenZhao of KOToys.com has gotten his hands on a couple of figures, a Scout and a Legends class, that he says are new Transformers. Unfortunately, no names are attached to these, and the two molds, both vehicles, are completely different from anything we've seen in the news lately. Perhaps new Revenge of the Fallen figures? The first supplements in Classics/Universe 3.0? The New Transformers series? Take a look at the two pictures below, and weigh your thoughts in the Energon Pub Forums!

(Pictures removed at the request of Gen Zhao..)

Taking a closer look at the Scout figure, and with the rumour of an upcoming Universe Drift character, could this be it?

First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures

And the Legends figure, perhaps the revival of the Transtech line, being Transtech Optimus Prime?

First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures

Of course, these are just wild guesses, and no one really knows for certain! So stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more rumour talk, and of course, the fastest Transformers news on the net!

Looks good to me.

Could be Drift, could be Tracks. Maybe a classics Dead End?

They both look good to me,especially the alt mode of the legends figure.

a friend just pointed this out to me:

Theres NO WAY the red one is a scout. is got BOTH a clear windshield AND headlights. its gotta be a deluxe.

off that am i the only one who took a look at the grey one and thought "war within grimlock"

The red one looks like Hot Rod and the gray one looks like the Batmobile. But if they're supposed to be Drift and Transtech Optimus, that's cool too. I hope this is Classics/Universe 3.0, 'cause then I'll actually have something to buy.

Whoa, whatever it is, that red car looks sweet. I just hope the bot mode looks as good.

Both look cool. Like to see the robot modes.
Re: First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures (1015311)

My opinion is that these are from two different lines. The top one is obviously an Earth-like vehicle. The bottom is much more alien. I'll call Universe 3 on the top one and new line on the bottom one.

I doubt it is a revival of Transtech...however, it would be an ideal time to bring in such a concept. If you look at a lot of the Transtech designs they have more than a passing resemblance to the movie characters. It would be a great middle ground line: Universe 3.0 for us old farts, ROTF for the kids, and Transtech to tie the two together. If I remember correctly, the Transtech Cheetor even had wheel-feet... :-?
Re: First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures (1015320)
Posted by Trikeboy on October 31st, 2009 @ 2:18am CDT
Transtech Cheetor looks a little bit like the Animated Blurr toy in robot mode. I doubt the red car is a scout though, it looks too big. It could possibly be Universe Jazz. A Transtech revival would be awesome but until we get robot mode pics these might not even be Transformers.

I hate all this teasing, why only post the damn alt-mode without the goddamned bot-mode?
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu******

That said they do look pretty cool and I do hope that is Transtech Prime.
Re: First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures (1015337)

Love the red one, but if they're going backwards and aiming for Transtech, I'm gonna pass on buying it.

I didn't like the idea back then, and I still don't now. Yes, I realize some of the robots we've received in recent history have taken cues from the TT designs, but I just don't like the TT designs themselves.

Ugh.

Posted by Samsonator on October 31st, 2009 @ 7:25am CDT
Yeah, I wanna see some bot mode pics of these pretty bad.
The car looks very cool, very nice car mold. I kinda hope it's not Drift, though... There's so many more characters I want to see done before this comic exclusive joke of a character gets a toy. Even so, if it is Drift, depending on how cool the bot mode looks, I may still get one.
as for the other thing... yes there's a passing similarity to Transtech Prime, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Would be interesting, though.

My guess is that the car could be 1 of 3 G1 characters.
Jazz, WheelJack or Overdrive.
We'll see.

Posted by Neurie on October 31st, 2009 @ 7:36am CDT
yep could be drift.

Hopefu;;y not another hot shot(argh), possibly a universe 3 sideburn from car robots?thats eries ahsnt receied any tf love for a while.
Re: First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures (1015373)
Posted by Valandar on October 31st, 2009 @ 9:23am CDT
I seriously doubt the red one is Jazz - the split hood belies that. Combined with the split spoiler, this means I'd put my money on it either being a Movie Line design, or (if it IS Classics) Classics Wheeljack.

I'll guess Wheeljack. The car kind of has that feel to it...very stock-car-ish.

GOod point, but I can't see it as Sideburn. RiD really is one of the more underappreciated lines in the TFdom. Would love to see an X-Brawn with arms that are acutally the same length and don't sport the whole front end of the vehicle mode.

That reminds me: anyone know where I can download RiD eps? I have a hankering for em now..LOL

If the car's Hot Rod/Rodimus or Drift, I'll get it.

If the gray one's TransTech Optimus or War Within Grimlock, I'll get it.

Nice i would like to have a drift figure , not the one you had to buy online only , and second one look likes a cybertron Veh mode. i hope they have a cool transformer under that , what would be the point for a slick veh and a lam robot ? :APPLAUSE: Hope to hear more about them >

NOTHING coul be more pic than them finaly going through with something like transtech. I just would love to get the old school aura with the dark and epic feel that could have expanded on transformer mythos that we got but hardly expanded in movie-verse for the sake of megan fox, fart jokes and humping...
Re: First Look at Potentially New Transformers Figures (1015431)

Oh! maybe this is the new line that they we've been hearing trumors about! like the reimagining of vintage characters, they mentioned it was like the universe line! Exuberance!

This is interesting, i cant wait to see what unfolds into. I really hope its TRU 3.0, not ROTF kind of getting tired of that line. I hope to see Stunticons from this....

I seem to be one of the few fans who likes Drift. Would love if this is a Scout version of Drift OR Nightbeat. I just get a Nightbeat vibe from that pic.

Bought the movie Nightbeat whose car mode I liked but the head is horrible. Love Scout cars because they fit nice with the Diaclones.

I'll be a very happy fan if this is a scout version of Drift or Nightbeat.

Well if they do Transtech justice then this will be a great line. If not then watch profit shares fall.

some one mentioned that it could be jazz, and i was thinking how over the years all the Jazz like figures got repainted as Smokescreen. Even though G1 Smokescreen was a repaint of G1 Prowl. So i would be perfectly happy if they gave the classics 2.0 Prowl/Silverstreak/Smokescreen mold a new head sculpt and used it again as Jazz / Stepper (Ricochet).

As for the red mistery car that every body is guessing my be Drift. if they take thier time with this mold, so it can transform 2 different ways into robot, like the classics Sidewipe / Sunstreeker mold. The with some minor head sculpts if could also have alot of uses. Drift, Nightbeat, Wheeljack, Chase, Freeway, Wild ride, Breakdown, & Tracks just off the top of my head.

Mind you Tracks(blue), Deadend (Black), or Breakdown (white) could be pulled off as a clasics 2.0 Sunstreaker / Sideswipe mold. I also hope they bring red alert over as will with classics 3.0.

I highly doubt it will be another rodimus prime, since classics 1.0 had a Rodimus. and classics 2.0 had Rodimus as a legends class. (althought i do hope they continue making the G1 mini-bots as legends class figures).

-B.

That red car is soooooo Hot Shot.

The grey vehicle... dunno... I would say it's something Cybertronian... maybe Kup?

It could be Drift or one of the other characters previously mentioned, but I smell an update of this.

It would look pretty nice battling Fracture.

I don't think it's Drift or Jazz. I'm just going with names that I know are still trademarked here but Downshift, Camshaft, Overdrive (or override as per TM) and Windcharger are all about due for a new character mould.

The other one doesn't look interesting enough to get my attention yet.

on the hood you could see it has some molded in cybertronion writing :?

If they paint that deluxe car white they could call it Jazz or Wheeljack.

No one seems to be pointing out the clip points on either side of the hood on the red car(the rectangular space with the green button. That looks a lot like a place were an engine should go... I,m thinking this guy could easily be a power-master.

http://www.tfu.info/1988/Autobot/Getaway/getaway.htm

Grey is probably a transtech...or Kup.

Nah' it's just unpainted translucent plastic. not really clips, just part of the windshield trim.

Huh? No, I'm talking about down on the hood above the wheel well If that's part of the windshield I'll eat my hat.(Luckily I do not wear a hat... >_>) Besides, the windshield is blue and the rectangle in the clip depression is decidedly green.

I just assumed that the green clips were hinges. And they would allow the middle of the hood to fold over part of the front fenders after splitting down the middle.

I'm looking forward to "transtech" Prime. His bot mode looks decent, with an almost bug-like head sculpt. His car mode looks okay, but the truck mode has that same "train-wreck" look from War Within.

Drift looks pretty cool in alt mode. Then again, concept art can be pretty deceiving, without looking at the final product. The use of cheap plastic and bad QC could easily ruin everything.

Just have to wait and see.

I would LOVE for there to finally be a release of some Transtech figures. I loved the idea of that line and where it seemed like it was going to head.
Then again, I seem to be in the minority.

I also didn't like any of the Japanese trilogy shows, and preferred Beast Machines to Beast Wars.

The first one could be any number of guys right now, so I'll hold off on any excitement until we get a word on who it might be, or a model in correct mold colors.

as for the second, The first thought that hit me was WW Grimmy, but again too soon. but honestly Transtech now?? Just don't see it.

Why not? It could easily be an update of the mold (minus the mini-con). Forget the proposed paint job and Hot Shot's original alt mode mold isn't far off it (if he was made to more realistic scale).

*shrug* Just sayin'... :-B

Maybe they're considering reviving the line now that the alien look of the movie-verse has gone down so well? Maybe THAT'S the new cartoon series? Why not? They've already done a lot of character design work from before it was scrapped... hmmm...
