But at least this Sunstreaker isn't fugly like that hideous Megatron. That Megatron looks like something that was initially made to the aesthetic... then smashed with a hammer and roughly glued back together.

I have the bee movie Brawn and hftd seaspray, might as well have this version as my sunstreaker instead of going for a 5 pack that has 4 figures I don't really need
Those forearm panels look very annoying though

Well, I don't agree for the bot mode, but I do agree that forcing him to be a triple-changer made his altmodes being too compromised. They should have just focused on the tank mode.
The 3P Megatank stay the best IMO, but he's grossly oversized to fit anywhere.

I was thinking similar, but lost cyberverse mold instead.

Which means, basically, he looks even MORE pure G1 than the other Cybertron Bumblebee Movie designs, which is saying something...

The supply of Bayformers is limited so they take their sweet time to release them over the years. That's why they are even adding concepts bots that never appeared in the movies.
Also, I have a suspicion the fact that the ROTF and DOTM Twins were shelfwarming hard. Furthermore the "racism controversy" give cold feet to remake them in SS.

We actually have a pretty big list of remaining Bayverse figures, enough to keep the line going for probably a couple years entirely by itself.
Just a couple notes on the list we made for BacktoBaysics, while we did get exclusive rereleases of the original figures for High Octane Bee, TLK Bee, and TLk Drift, Sam Smith noted that these releases were not considered definitive Studio Series releases which is further evidenced by the recently vanished listing for a new SS TLK Drift.
It’s also missing a few guys like Lieutenant that I’ll have to add on the next version

anyway, Concept BM Megs is an imperfect triple-changer, but he's a PERFECT impro-changer. Meaning you can fan-mode this to your heart's content!
And of course, a gun mode was already discovered. A pretty good one too.
Can't wait to get mine! Maybe I'll even squeeze a beast mode out of it.

While there, you can also purchase the Studio Series deluxe concept Sunstreaker. The listing gives us better images of both modes and shows the weapons he comes with.

You mean, the one based on the FOC game, that old one?
That Sideswipe was a repaint/remold of the garbage FOC Jazz mold. A toy so bad that it's the poster-girl of the toys downward spiral of cheapness and hollowness until forced an almost 50% price increase to get things back on track. The only good thing about the old FOC Sideswipe is that at least, unlike Jazz, this one came with a HUEG gun.
TlDr; for this new Sideswipe to b an improvement over the original FOC deluxe is not a serious challenge. And if that Sideswipe is its own mold and an upcoming Jazz would have its own, the improvements would be indeed light years better than the FOC originals.
Still waiting for a SS Gamer Bruticus set with an Onslaught that is at the very least a voyager. A leader would be even better.

The rumors I’ve heard say Megatron is from TF: One and Bumblebee is Reactivate. The weird thing though is that we have another listing we know is from Reactivate (Lifeline), and it doesn’t have the “next gen” name. Same with Megatron, I’m pretty sure we have a “MV8” Optimus coming in A-line. No clue! Would love if Next Gen Bee was the AOE concept Camaro design, but if it was it would most likely have a MV4 tag on it.

I know my Amazon order was for after Feb 1st, but now the listing says "We'll email you with a date" which is frustrating. I was looking forward to this one. I dropped by Hasbro Pulse and the date for fulfillment is May, which is all sorts of ouch as I was hyped about getting it this month. Does anyone know the reason for the delay or if it's just online retailers? I know Target's listing says "Find in store" which is about as helpful as a Kremzeek.
I'd love to know how Japan does it. They almost always release on specific dates, things don't just show up like they do everywhere else in the world. And when they're late they get a new date that they usually hit. I'm pretty sure both Takara Tomy and Hasbro ship from the same factory, maybe they just give themselves a lot of time to make sure things are in place in time for release, I know some companies are very strict about street dates.

For some reason, Mattel is strict about it too with Jurassic World. They'll have street dates for specific toys (some that are for things over 20 years old no less!) that have a specific date. I've had Target tons of times block me from getting something they put on the shelf and it sucks. I wish Hasbro did gibe us dates, because it makes timing hunts a lot easier.

I get that (though I don't thing the example actually happens), but that's no different from when Hasbro or Mattel or anyone else puts a specific street date on certain things and they're in stores that day. But that's only half the problem. Takara or Bandai or whoever does this with everything and it'll all be in stores and online in stock that day. Best Hasbro can do is give us a ballpark estimate and if you're lucky it'll show up within A YEAR of it if at all.

This is just me, but it seems like retailers here in the US have WAY too much control and say over product, that might have something to do with it too.

You aren't wrong there. I wonder if retailers in Japan have better self control? The biggest reason we can't find new stuff on time (if at all) is because there's so much old stock lingering on pegs. I can't picture that being the same in Japan. It would really be nice if physical stores would cycle their inventory. When new stuff comes in take down the old stuff and when that sells put the old stuff back. It's a lot of work so it won't happen, but at least make use of the overhead shelves.

The obvious answer is that Japan is considerably smaller than the US. Japan is just a bit bigger than California. I think that size makes a HUGE difference in distribution, especially when you consider how densely populated Japan is compared to the wide open spaces in the US. "Flyover Country" dramatically impacts distribution because of the cost for transport.

As they say, size doesn't matter. California's population is around 39M, Japan's population is 125M, more than a third of the entire US population. That density should mean more of a bottleneck since stores can only sell so much at a time but have more people to sell to and therefore take longer to get everything sold, yet they make it work.
