The Snakas Blog has posted images coming from Taiwan of these two brand new toys found in stores. While these are made for brand recognition/growth in BRICS countries, some toys have made it to the US as well, like last year's Prowl and Jetfire which were found at Wallgreens. It is unsure if these two will as well. Speaking of Prowl, it seems Windcharger Sideswipe shares the same engineering. Shockwave however is completely new and turns into a cybertronian spaceship very similar to RID's Cyclonus.
Previous toys in the subline have also been found at Universal Studios but at "exclusive-style" prices, so these might as well. For those unaware, these are voyager sized toys which sell at the deluxe class price point when found at retail. For a review on the previous Prowl release in this line, you can click here.

Pretty surprised Shockwave is all new (and that he needs a "Decepticon" prefix), Sideswipe looks ok. Shares some parts with Prowl, but the toes, lower arms, hood and top, and the head are new. I can't really determine the make of the front, could be totally made up.

The instructions show the back including the inside of the knees, and from the looks of it, it's a mushroom peg type swivel.

Maybe Walgreens will get them (wont hold my breath).

This line is known for not having knee joints but I want that shockwave

I really like that Shockwave. The Sideswipe figure has the same alt mode as Generations Bumblebee right down to the raised edge of the Front Fenders.

The spaceship is ok I guess, but that robot mode is absolutely perfect. And the ship is 3 times better than that spider tank thing the cyberverse figure has. A buy for sure if I can find him
Flashwave wrote:10 times better than Cyberverse.
While I dont think the Cyberverse is great, I dont think this is so much of an improvement. Both seem to lack in articulation, and this one more so. Probably no knees, no thigh swivel, and no universal joints, and hollow to the extreme (which has to be since they are stretching out the material to make a bigger toy). Are all you guys ok with this? I find it hard to believe when I keep seeing the same "happy meal toy" comment similarly simplistic toys are revealed.
Also, I think the alt mode looks terrible. I hate seeing those arms there hanging in the back and I have no clue why they would go out of their way to have a fake robot mode head visible in alt mode. That was dumb with the FOC toy but at least you could ignore it there. Here its harder to ignore.
I dont think either this nor the cyberverse is going to satisfy our Shockwave itch, but if I were to pick one, I might go for Cyberverse simply because the alt mode and articulation looks slightly better.

Oh, I know, that's why I'm practically begging, there's no reason for it to be just a mushroom peg, the balljoint would acomplish the exact same function AND provide a bending knee WITHOUT INCREASING PARTS COUNT.

God damn it Hasbro, why do you keep shooting yourself in the knee???

Take it easy there. You’re literally yelling at your computer about a toy legitimately made for 4 year olds.

I am sure it is possible but then that raises one's full cost of the figure. You still lack the bicep swivel and it is still a relatively simple and hollow toy. So is it really worth putting extra money into it on our end? He looks good on a shelf wihout adding any work or money.

He is the exact same size as the jetfire in the image below so that should give you an idea:
And he would scale with TR Megatron similarly to how Starscream scales with him below:

Yeah, well I'm not giving a 4 year old a kneeless figure that costs almost 20 bucks. But feel free to justify lackluster crap all you want.

He's not justifying it, it's literally why hasbro made this line, the target audience is children, I imagine it would be a lead in from rescue bots toys, then going into either movie toys or other generations figures. It's not targeting collectors like us...not that it will stop the few of us who just want it for display purposes so find a knee joint not needed.

Sadly they do this because they know that people will still buy it due to waiting for a quality Voyager class Generations Shockwave for years now.
But since there isn't one, Hasbro know's that they can continue milking this character. Here it is we've had a CW Legends class, a Cyberverse Shockwave pending and now this.....
And next I'm betting will be a Generations Leader class instead of a decent Voyager class Shockwave with legs that actually bend.
It's becoming the biggest downside to collecting.

A temporary placeholder for $5 even $10 till Hasbro makes a real one? Sure.... But not $17 in irritating Walgreen toy sections. NOPE!

How much more could some shapeways knees cost? 10 bucks? Sure I could stand him on a shelf but why not have more? Its only money, you only live once. Ten bucks wont make or break me.

We're not talking adding spoiler or new rims to a car here.
If you'd like to pay almost $30 for a cheap placeholder which will likely get a real Voyager or Leader class Shockwave soon after then so be it.
But for me.... Take Grimlock for example. When FOC Grimlock released, I bought it. Then the TRU gold version released with that Movie OP came out so I bought that to. Then that Iron factory upgrade release and I grab that and added to the TRU exclusive FOC Grimlock and it's been my Stand in Grimlock ever since. Meanwhile that POTP Grimlock is a stubby mess that I have no interest in combining. So I skipped it an only want the 4 deluxe Dinobots (well only Sludge and Snarl now) to go with Slash.
Point being is that I'm no longer buy just anything that Hasbro makes anymore. My Sig is proof of how happy I use to be with random Shockwave's in the past but for now on I'm no longer settling.

Sure, but that still becomes an upscaled legends toy for 27$. Well look to each's own, I just dont feel adding knees (for 10$ no less) will make this figure that much better than before.
Though I do agree that elbows did make all the difference with Combiner Wars scrapper. I am glad to know you will be enjoying this toy to its fullest

I really dont think theres a cospircy theory. Especially when this particular toyline was never meant for either US distribution or a collector market.

Why do you have to be so condescending about our opinions? You claim to not be but your attitude on the sites says otherwise.
Who the heck would buy 20 of these anyways there is no troop building potential in this people would only buy 1 or 2 at most.
