Some light but yet interesting news comes to us from taghobby.com. They have a scan of a page from the newest Figure King Magazine which sports a bunch of new Takara Tomy Transformers Adventure figures. However, instead of being under the TAV moniker, they are all under a new Clash of the Transformers line and it seems they are related to the recent Hasbro figures found in Australia under that title.

The three deluxe (warrior) sized Clash figures were all predicted and found on the app and images from that app can be found below for comparison. These seem to be the exact decos found on the app which makes you wonder if these are the Hasbro toys themselves.

These Clash of the Transformers figures are Bumblebee, SIdeswipe and Optimus, the later of which would technically be a redeco of Nemesis Prime for Takara since they never released that mold in the traditional Optimus colours that were found on the Hasbro release. Clash of the Transformers Megatronus is also found on the image though it is unclear if the image shows the recently revealed Hasbro 5 step toy or the Takara version of that toy. TRU Japan Exclusive Movie Advanced Black Knight Optimus Prime is also pictured on the page.

Technically, we have 4 "Clash of the Transformers" figures, that Megatronus is part of the line. The names are:

Optimus Prime Clash of the Transformers Version
Bumblebee Clash of the Transformers Version
Sideswipe Clash of the Transformers Version
Big Megatronus Clash of the Transformers Version

Still part of Transformers Adventure, and Toys 'R Us Japan Exclusives, along with Lost Age Black Knight Optimus Prime.

It's a safe bet they'll be similar to the "USA Editions" of old ("imported" Hasbro toys), so hardly any, if any, deco changes.

PS: Am I the only one who preffers the reveals of this thread over all the others? I think its how superior the decos are and how cheap these toys are (they are at a lower price point compared to the legends line in Japan). And that Optimus... MAN! Making it sticky would kind of go against the idea of a thread for things that are "now available". I commenting on an older "no available online" thread and the first thing someone said was "I clicked on the link and that deal is outdated", so having a thread that stays at the top only when the content stays temporally related makes more sense and avoids any confusion even if the date is written on the posts. If people want it to work, they have to add to it, hence why I just promoted it.

Autobase Aichi has posted the newest Takara Tomy TAV stock images. These are for the toys which were shown at the Tokyo Toy Show:

TAV-21 Optimus Prime
TAV-22 Sideswipe

The link also includes a pic for the upcoming hello kitty toy from Q-Transformers.

And to those who are unaware, the TAV-21 Optimus Prime is an in house Takara mold.

I see... If I'm not mistaken, the inset square is part of a little gimmick involving a dial. According to the ad, you can turn it to reveal either a regular symbol for symmetry and esthetics, or the symbol that works with the app.

Looks red to me, actually, just like his light-up chest window. I'm guessing Takara simply went with red LEDs for the light-up gimmick, as that is the cheapest color. Unfortunately, I think blue is one of the most expensive LEDs.

It would be nice to promote it but not all members are astute as to dig in numerous posts as sometimes the thread gets pushed back. Kind of like the even stickied "Da Rules" . A lot of people tend to gloss over it the way others here gloss over the instruction manuals of our TFs to try and "transform" the figure on their own.

Anyway, just a suggestion 'cause,as a good mod/news hound, you are only answering the concern of a very vocal minority.

Anyways, back to the product on hand. That Optimus is sooooooooooooooooo sweet! And Jazz is equally "Jazzy"

I'd ordered TAV Bumblebee and Strongarm off of some eBay users last week, and today, at my surprise, Bumblebee arrived sooner than expected. I have to say, I didn't think I'd care too much for Bumblebee, but he's a really neat figure. The paint job Takara gave him makes it even better to play with and look at. It makes me anticipate Strongarm even more, and I'm really hoping to get my hands on Drift soon!

That's how I've come to feel about the Transformers RID '15/TAV line so far. They are neat little figures, with quick, but fun transformations, that are relatively faithful to the cartoon animation models. Of course, for best results, get the Takara versions whenever possible for the better paint jobs. Still, everyone was really bagging on this line HARD when it was first announced. Glad to see so many people giving these a (well-deserved) shot. Honestly, it's saved my Transformers Prime figures from being sold off. These toys give me reason to keep expanding my "Aligned" continuity shelf. Takara's TAV additions especially (Swoop, Slag, Lockdown, etc.) have been incentive for me to maintain a collection of official "Aligned" versions of classic characters.

I picked up the Bumblebee vs. Steeljaw 2-pack at BotCon (it was the ONLY Adventure Series item containing any of the show characters that I could find, all others were the non-show characters), and am gonna wait till the 2-pack of Strongarm vs. Phantomjaw comes out before getting TAV Strongarm. Still on the lookout for TAV Grimlock, though.

Thats what I decided to do and its been on preorder since the day it was available. I should get the bill for that 2 pack anyday now and then all at once I will get UW 01, TAV Drift, TAV Bumblebee and that two pack. I CANT wait!

Here is a report quite a few of you were wondering (I am also posting it in the Legends thread): shipping price from Amiami.

I bought a lot of stuff to ship all at once and it seems the shipping price is a bit exponential depending on the size of your box/order.

If it is small, the difference between SAL and EMS can be half/double. It cost someone 10$ to ship 3 deluxes. But I was shipping 4 deluxes and a Superion set, which came out to 6,154 Yen shipping SAL and 6,660 Yen EMS. So I picked EMS. That is very expensive shipping for SAL but it is quite reasonable for EMS which is the lightning fast way with tracking, and its the same cost or cheaper than it would have cost using BBTS's shipping to canada.

The Figure King 209 magazine came out and as part of the scans, courtesy of Allspark, we see some new exclusive EZ Transformers from Takara. These are redecos of Legion Grimlock, Sideswipe and Optimus Prime. While the Grimlock and sideswipe are clear like the figures of previous campaigns. The Optimus however, has the deco of Jeffrey the Toysrus Giraffe.

The magazine also had 2 pages of shots of the upcoming TAV 21 Optimus figure and it shows all it's features and accessories. Remember, this figure is an exclusive Takara mold. Enjoy!

So much TAV/RID toy news today.

With Phantomjaw (Takara Steeljaw redeco) just released in Japan, it is almost by tradition that Alfes has updated his blog with a new in hand gallery. This toy comes as part of the Takara Tomy’s TAV VS03 set : Phantomjaw vs Strongarm. These are supposed to be police themed rivals. This deco is exclusive to Takara and to this set (so far). These are the exact same proportions as on the show. Think of the animated line and how the toys mirrored the show's style. This is the same thing:
