However, the biggest news of all has just been revealed thanks to USA Today: the fan-built combiner's name is Victorion and SHE is comprised of SIX fembots! A full team of combining fembots which is a first for the Transformers brand. WE did it, everyone! We had our voices heard and in a sign of changing times, we have female characters finally making an impact along with the male characters. It's about doggone time and well overdue.
Here's the snippet confirming this info:
And for the '80s generation now having their own children, especially dads with daughters, "it's very important for them to have strong female characters so that they can relate and bridge that love with their kids," adds Mairghread Scott, a writer for the animated series as well as IDW's Transformers: Windblade comics.
Windblade means a lot to fans because, well, they helped build her last year through polls to determine her personality traits and abilities. And Victorion, a new "Combiner" Transformer comprised of six different female Autobots and a result of another recent fan-built poll, is rolling out in the July comic Transformers: Combiner Hunters and debuting in toy form in the near future.
This article also revealed that Windblade will be coming to the Transformers Robots In Disguise cartoon. View our article about this by clicking here.
You can read the full article titled "Female 'Transformers' come to the fore" on USA Today's website.

Indeed. I can't wait. I've never had a problem with fembots and we waited WAAAAAAY too long for Arcee and Chromia, as well as Windblade. Energon Arcee and the Bayverse versions were nice tries, but these are the real deal, awesome characters and figures deserving of their newfound popularity.
It's not just a boy's world anymore and everyone, especially the fans, needs to move forward, not backward. We all need to evolve a bit.

I am super excited for this. Windblade in RID and a new combiner made of six fembots? HECK YEAH. I can't wait to see the design unveiled. I kind of wish Combiner Hunters was the Free Comic Book Day issue, but I'll pick it up either way. It's a great time to be a transformers fan.

Cool to see Windblade's TF RID/Adventure look will look almost exactly the same as her Generations/IDW look. But probably be a bit more sturdy. While I like her figure, Shes almost 3rd Party/Collector level in care you need to play with her.
I REALLY hope we get to see Overide/NitroConvoy soon with Blurr going to Velocitron.
ALso need to see Elita-1 and A3 and other Older Fembots. Windblade is great, really great. But now that Arcee and Chromia have gotten their figures, others should too.

Sorry for being such a debbie downer, but I find it kind of lame that they are throwing a fanfare about them being female when they wont go out of their way to make them special by giving them their own different molds.
Also, side question: what was the result for the torso?
Posted by Bumblevivisector on April 23rd, 2015 @ 12:46pm CDT
"And this marshmallow's got a bow on her head!"
But it is important that all 6 component bots be identified on the packaging as female as well. I'm pretty sure the family-values crowd would completely lose their s#!t over any toy that encouraged their children to mix and match male and female body parts, which is why there have been no female Marvel characters in Hero Mashers to date. Now while there's certainly more leeway with robot parts, I think the only reason Robot Mashers Strongarm is going to slip under the radar is that these same parents probably won't even notice she's supposed to be female, and that little Noah is mix and matching Transmorphodites. But with NBC's current series on kids self-identifying as transgender way before puberty, I guess that's an untapped market as far as toy role-models go, so Victorion Scrambling in some limbs from other teams is something kids should be able to do...the boxes just shouldn't emphasize that you can is all, to avoid any backlash.
Of course, personally, I'm just plain happy about this!

Why the hell do all Fembots have to be super feminine?
Strika and Strongarm pull off the blocky look well so I assume that the combiner and the limbs will be given new feminine heads.
But seriously why do you guys care about them looking feminine anyways outside of perverted reasons which I hope is not the case.

Oh and I will follow the advice and stay positive. It could well be that Hasbro will be really good at retooling and making shells that make these fembots truly a toy of their own.

You've obviously never dealt with TV networks or especially anything Turner, such as Cartoon Network, have you? Just because something is animated or filmed or whatever, doesn't mean it will make it to air. Nothing has a guarantee.
A perfect example? Firefly. The series was killed with like 3 or 4 episodes in the can, ready to air that never made it onto Fox's schedule. That's just one I can think of offhand, but there are plenty that never make it to air, so people being concerned is not unreasonable.
Same goes for movies, too. Movies end up ready to go, can't find a distributor and either go direct to video or never make it to the public. I'll bet if we dug in the archives of film studios and TV networks, we might find gold that never ever made it to the public.

It doesn't matter. If a network decides to axe a show, it's done, that's it. Shows get pulled from the schedule all the time and unaired episodes are left up in the air a lot. It usually happens that you don't get to see the unaired episodes until the series comes to video. And sometimes not even then.
Back in '07 or '08 (somewhere around there), NBC had a remake/reboot of The Bionic Woman and aired something like 14 episodes, but there were closer to 18 and once it was pulled from the schedule, no one saw those episodes. In fact, when the series came to DVD, it was only the first 9 episodes and the rest never made it to home video. (Looks like it never will.)

The fact it was live-action has nothing to do with it.
The actual difference worth looking at is Network TV vs Cable. Networks kill shows with episodes unshown all the time. Cable is likely more invested and while they may bury something in a different timeslot, they are more likely to finish a shows run.

Allow me to explain:
Some time back, there was a video game for the Playstation called "Brave Saga", the cast of which was mostly made up of robot characters from the various "Brave Series", all of which were owned by Takara.
The second game, "Brave Saga 2", features a game-original robot named "Victorion".
The video cutscene featuring Victorion's transformation sequence can be found here:

My apologies if this information bothers you in any way; for some reason when I brought this up in 4chan I was accused of "trolling" for pointing out the existence of a previous character with the same name. I just thought it needed bringing up; not trying to cause trouble here.

Given that there were two choices, and that there's so much known demand for more female characters in the brand without really having to look very hard for it, I don't think there's a conspiracy theory to be had here. Sorry.

I apologize for the numerous angry replies you're going to get, including this one:
DUDE. The only freaking way Transformers is going to appeal to a wider audience beyond older fans and 6-12 year-olds is if they diversify their cast of characters to appeal to those of the opposite sex. I love OCs if they are well thought out. Take Mindmaster (creation of Mindmaster), normally I scoff at OC bots, but he's got a huge backstory for him and a defined personality! Now obviously Mindmaster is not a female character, but I've seen a number of interesting female OC Transformers on DA and other art sites. These characters are sometimes given a unique personality or backstory, but they are sometimes created with not much development and are just intended to be "shipped" with a favorite male character.

Do you know why people are voting for females? Because there are so few female characters in Transformers fiction. There are about a hundred major male characters and only 10 or so major female ones across all iterations of the franchise. In a given series, maybe 2 characters out of a cast of dozens will be female. If Transformers are going to be an analogue for human problems (which they are), they should represent humanity a little better.

I'm pretty sure that female action figures don't sell well considering some toy lines got canned because not many people buy them.

Dragstrip is nice and curvy. Off Road's torso could be feminine. Firefly and Alpha Bravo could easily pass as female too.
I don't know why fembots need boobs to be female. They're not nursing any robo babies. The star ship Enterprise has a female voice, but no boobs. Though she does have a nice set of nacelles.
For the sake of breaking down gender BS, maybe it's time we redefine what it means to be a fembot.

For the torso Hot Spot and Silverbolt were the choices and since people did not know what Hot Spot looked like at the time I'm sure that Hop Spot will be the mold chosen which is good since it's better then the Silverbolt mold anyways.
