Takara, make it so, and make it fast!!!

Encore Fort Max, while awesome, would require you to sell your first born to ship at a reasonable price.

Get Acoustic Wave which is 100% confirmed. Sorry Takara, I need pics of a Masterpiece Soundwave (prototype would suffice) before I don't buy Acoustic Wave.
They've actually had MPSW on the drawing board for quite some time. The last thing HasTak need to worry about are third parties releasing coinciding figures, when it comes down to it - the sheer number of people are going to be buying into a Masterpiece figure rather than a third party equivalent.

If it has been on the drawing board why are they only now saying they are looking into it? The best way to halt Acoustic Wave, which is nearly on the shelves, is to show MP Soundwave right now. Looking in to making it is like saying "sure we might make it now or we will release one in 20 years but it is coming". The people who want a Masterpiece Soundwave and have wanted one since MP01 first appeared may not wait for an unconfirmed release and go the third party route. I want a Masterpiece Soundwave and I will get the first one that appears on the market. However, the beauty of Transformers is two (or more) display modes. What is the harm in getting both, should they actually make an official one.

No offence intended, as I wouldn't call you a liar but I will believe it when I see it, see it being the appropriate word. All the cassettes packaged with him would be a high selling point and make me pass on AW.

No offence taken. Whether or not I was alluding to cassettes.. well I'm not going to deny that.

Wow. Your bad aim is all over the map, huh?
TakaraTomy hasn't done anything wrong in all of this.
Bay and the studios know what works and it's been successful. Billions successful.
Hasbro is the one target you should be concerned with. No one else.
I have a feeling your aim will remain off, though.
And what on Earth does a Fort Max reissue have to do with the rest? I get that you were being hyperbolic, but seriously, this is one ridiculous post.

Regarding Fort Max, they said they were planning A Fortress Maximus release in their 30th anniversary (2 more years)... They did not specify the series...
Posted by Oilspill on March 12th, 2012 @ 8:06am CDT
Of course I'm excited about an MP Soundwave too, and Sideswipe for that matter.

Well actually they do need to worry unless we are getting some official pics soon. For if you read for example these messages here, you will notice that many are still sceptical what comes to MP SW. I' "afraid" that many will buy rather this 3rd party toy if it comes first. So Takara should gave us some proofs already. THAT would most likely change some thoughts and it might keep people waiting this one.

So you're saying that HasTak are worried about a smaller and minut company, releasing a figure that only hardcore collectors are going to buy at retailers that are only online. The price for that product is relatively the same or more expensive than the product HasTak is going to release. A HasTak product that by my word, is going to be way better than this third party product. HasTak's product is going to be released to just about everyone, at regular retail and online retail, in which the multitude of people who are going to buy it will be through the thousands. Yeah. They're worried.

It's just odd how TakaraTomy times those releases. First Encore Devastator with the Hercules and Giant releases, and now Soundwave...

I'm sure Takara is not sweating this. And what's with all the griping on this thread? At worst, we'll be getting two solid options to choose from. I would buy AW in a heartbeat; if Takara's offering is truly superior ("Soundwave superior...") then that's only in our best interest as fans.

This is the most logical post I have read here so far... Seriously, it doesn't matter if it is HasTak or a third company: they are first devoted to your pocket rather than you, so I don't get all the passionate discussion regarding HasTak X third companies. We all should be happy with the increasing of competition and the increasing of options. And yes, Hastak should watch its back: maybe there is no big challenge to its market share yet, but arrogance (as the opposite of creativity) is the death of any large company.

It's funny though. Hasbro and Takara could very easily stop the third party companies, or at the very least slow them down considerably.
Take Apple for example. Look at what they do to companies that knock off their products or even come a hair close to looking like their products. They take them to court with their highest paid lawyers and sue the crap out of them. They are one of the toughest companies out there and will pay through the nose to protect what they've made.
All it would take is a few phone calls to the online retailers and tell them, "You stop selling third party Transformer products and sell our stuff only. Or we'll just stop distributing to you."
I honestly think Hasbro likes the game though. They may put up a front and make frowny faces, but do they actually care? Maybe slightly, but they definitely aren't making a big enough move to show it.

Takara needs to get on the ball and release some prototype images before the 3rd party Soundwave is released, or they will undoubtedly lose some business. I will probably buy whichever comes out first, that is assuming the 3rd party Soundwave looks as good as the prototype suggests it will. If Takara announced that they will for sure release a MP Soundwave before the end of the year, then I might wait to see which is best at the best price.

MP Soundwave= bought if released here. Actually, bought either way. I would prefer if it was released here in the US.

What if the world ends this December 21?I mean what if it never happens? Or, we get a downsized version?
Regarding the discussion of 3rd PT stuff, Hasbro is against it. Or at least Aaron... In the panel, he said 3rd PT stuff aren't transformers. They're just toys. "I wish they would start thinking of their own ideas and stop copying ours".

I think it will be less. When they released Brave Max BBTS had him for just over $100(like 125-150) if I remember correctly. I think he will be in the $150-$200 range.

Well how much is the mark up for reissues usually?
I mean, if I can get a fort max reissue shipped to my house (or picked up at a con or shop) for less than 300, that can be a done deal.

There wasn't even a question of either/or, if there's a Soundwave, I WILL own it(funds and availability permitting, of course).

Brave Max was missing most of the accessories, though. $300 for a complete Fort Max reissue sounds about right. $125 for shipping give or take another $25. Add that shipping from Japan to the Fort Max/ TFSource price and that's what we'll get.

"If there is a god, there must be a devil..........if there is a chojin, there will be kyo (?)" or something to that effect.
Now if there's a Fort Max, there must be a Scorponok (?) I'm more for the latter.......he's more or less the size of Unicron iirc.....please let it be so. It's like Optimus Prime and Megatron,Rodimus and Galvatron, Batman and Joker etc.
