Wait, why is this in the Combiner Wars thread instead of the Unite Warriors thread? :???:

People have suggested that Motormaster's grey deco may be to tie him in with AOE's Galvatron, which I can believe.

But the more I look at the toy, I also wonder if it was because while the original MM had a black truck cab, the whole toy is primarily grey since it's mostly the trailer. They may have felt making the truck all black might have made the the homage weaker, not stronger, especially since Motormaster has to compete with Nemesis Prime now in the black truck department.

Well, in the cartoon, Motormaster's robot mode body was primarily black like his truck cab.

Yeah, but the new toy robot mode looks reasonably accurate. It's the truck cab mode that looked wrong. Though less so, the more I look at it and do see Motormaster. At least in spirit, if that makes sense.

Once again, Hasbro has gone with a deco that homages more closely the original toy than the G1 cartoon model. The layout of grey and black matches up to the G1 toy to a T. The only real deco difference is the purple accents all over the CW version, as opposed to the multicolored stickers found on the original.

Would you believe in the back? The wheel configuration as shown is actually reversed from the norm: 2 sets in the "front" and 1 set in the "back". Compare it with G1 and RotF G1 Mixmaster:

I think the faux cab folds into the chassis and the top swings around.
Re: Combiner Wars Leader Class Thundercracker In-Hand Images (1650579)
Posted by Gearslide on February 13th, 2015 @ 11:55am CST
...Is it possible that Mixmaster has a major pivot point in the middle of vehicle mode? Like the Top and front of the cabin and the barrel all lift up then spin 180 when going from vehicle to foot? Because the back of the mixer where the exit bucket is sitting seems to be in the middle of what looks like a hollowed out cabin, and the wheels seem to be inverted.

Otherwise there's a lot of fake molding that doesn't look like it has a lot of places to go.

I think you're partially right. There does appear to be a door and window above the single wheel on Mixmaster, and it looks like the top does pivot around. However, the foot still appears to be part of the front cab. From vehicle mode, it looks like part of the cab folds out to form the foot and pivots around, leaving just the doors to plug into Devastator's leg.

Sorry if I'm not describing this well.

I agree, it looks too much like a cab not to be. I think the figure pivots quite a bit to make this happen. At least, I find it more likely than having a bunch of fake kibble front and back.

My speculation:

Leg => Vehicle

1) Disconnect from thigh at knee.

2) Rotate foot forward/down 90 degrees at ankle.

3) Pop green and purple mixer drum assembly loose from knee/cab.

4) Spin green and purple mixer drum assembly 180 degrees at base of mixer so green end is at back end of truck.

5) Slide foot forward under mixer drum, between rear wheels.

6) Loosen knee cap from front of cab.

7) Swing knee cap forward 90 degrees.

8) Swing back of knee back 90 degrees.

9) Attach knee cap to top of cab.

10) Attack back of knee to front of cab.

Plan to buy CW Voyager Cyclonus. As I've wanted HasTak to make another toy for years now in the Voyager class. Have faith that CW Cyclonus repurposing the CW Silverbolt toy will turn out awesome. As CW Silverbolt's jet mode has that long jet nose like Cyclonus does. Thinking this will be a massive retool like 30th Sandstorm's toy was.

CW Leader class Ultra Mangus, I'm excited about. Hasbro mentioning it in their toy fair press release. Gives me hope he's on display at Toy Fair. Hoping for a big one piece Transformation Leader class toy like 2009 Animated Ultra Magnus had. If I had to pick a design style. I'd select the IDW earth mode design Ultra magnus had while on earth.

Think CW Titan Devastator is the best thing ever. It's another must buy for me. Hoping that the individual constructicons are on display at toy fair. Curious to see what the smaller robots and vehicle modes look like. Have the faith everything will be home runs.

Going to be buying all of the CW Combiners. Since Hasbro mentioned Defensor in their toy fair press release solicitation. Think the chances of the Protectobots being at Toy Fair this weekend is high. Curious to see what they look like in all of their forms.

Not expecting to see CW Combiners toys for the Technobots or Combaticons at this Toy Fair. As i'm guessing these will be last quarter 2015 toys releases. Thinking Botcon, SDCC and NYCC will be the places to reveal these test shots toys.

Wondering if Fakesaur, The autobots Masquerade repaint will be on display at this toy fair. Hoping it is. Probably going to buy all of these toys.

With Hasbro mentioning CW Voyager Cyclonus in the Toy Fair press release. Think the toy has a great shot of being on display. Just wondering if any of the Repurposed CW deluxes he combines with will also be on display. Love to see the rumored Megatronus gestalt toy in all of it's modes. Thinking this is another must buy.

The same press release confirmed that they will not be released in 2015. If you read the statement, it is stated that only 16 deluxes will be released and these 16 have already been revealed through walmart databases and press releases. Not sure what you guys are seeing with Mixmaster and the part that makes the foot. To me it looks like the back end of a cement mixer that's used A LOT around here. The back end has vents in it that look just like what's on the foot there... and it's connected to the back end. The cement drum also empties out of the top front also just like what this Mixmaster looks to do.

Sure, it's a mish-mash of designs, but this is what I see with a more G1 styled cab.

Image

The back end red area is what I see being the foot. Do you guys not have these types of cement mixers in your neck of the woods?

I actually disagree with the "White Prime" redeco being a problem with this. If done right, it can work. Have Voyager White Magnus come with a trailer that Transforms into the Magnus Armor, with the Arms and Legs Connecting via combiner ports. Add in a chest plate that connects the same way as Blackjack and I think we will have a winner

Noticed that Hasbro's USA next year First Quarter TF toys. Have a high succcess rate of Getting released early in the previous year Fourth Quarter for the Christmas buying season. Most of the time these toys get release in December.

Thinking, If they were 2016 CW releases. Then they wouldn't be in store computers right now. Since their in store computers, Thinking the CW Technobots and CW Combaticons are 2016 toys that will get released in 2015 in December.

Releasing First quarter toys early in the previus year in the Fourth Quarter December is nothing new. Toy companies like Hasbro do it all the time. Why? Because the 4th quarter is the highest sales buying point for toys. The first quarter is deemed a grave yard low point to release newer toys as they often sell less than Second, Third and Fourth quarters released toys.

The deluxe technobots and combaticons are not in store computers. No listing has ever acknowledged their existence. We only think they will come because we found listings for voyager figures. But no deluxes.

The cement drum also empties out of the top front also just like what this Mixmaster looks to do.

Sure, it's a mish-mash of designs, but this is what I see with a more G1 styled cab.

The back end red area is what I see being the foot. Do you guys not have these types of cement mixers in your neck of the woods?

Would you believe no? It actually looks like a truck riding perpetually in reverse  It doesn't change that Mixmaster seems to be reversed one way or another tho.

Odd, but only because those are the only mixers I can remember ever seeing. The back end houses the engine. Not sure if that engine runs everything, the vehicle only, or the mixer only, though.

Really, really, reeeeeaaally hoping to see a brand spanking new mould for Leader Magnus in proper colours. Can't stomach another white Prime re-deco.

I am pretty sure it will be a new mold, since there are no leader Optimus molds to use this time ;)

I know, it's just what with CW being such a top notch line so far I'm worried that they're about to drop the ball with this one. Especially since we've been desperately calling out for a proper Classics/Generations Magnus for years. I hope Hasbro continue to nail it!

Something tells me they will.

But you know, sometimes a prime mold made for Magnus is even better than a mold mae just for him. Did you collect the Prime toys? Both in Voyager size and Cyberverse scale, there was a mold made just for Magnus, even before he was on the show. While the mold is liked be a few people, I found that the second one was the more show accurate and better mold for the character and it was a retool of an Optimus mold, for both classes.

Let me know which one you preffer below, odds are its the retool and not the original mold.

Also, if you are wondering why I am writing all this, its just to say that Hasbro has aced Magnus in the past even when it was an Optimus retool. I am confident they will do a good job on this guy.

was looking at TFW's images and they have a small shot of Devy's box with an even smaller image of the vehicle modes on it, and Mixmaster looks like he might be the mixer in Cobra Viper's pic
