As reported earlier here from the San Diego Comic-Con, the toys based on the upcoming Transformers Animated series were unveiled for the very first time to the general public of fans. Seibertron.com member Sephron1335 has alerted us to some clearer images of the slides shown in the presentation by the Hasbro panel, giving us a better look at the new figures which include fan-favourite characters like Grimlock, Soundwave and Black-Arachnia.

See the images here.

There are a few i like but most are crap. The only ones im sure about getting are Megatron, Starscream, and maybe Blitzwing. The 2nd primes not bad and a few of the other no named ones are ok. All this means is that ill have more money for the classics. We get this crap but they cant mass release Alt Hot Rod or the classic seekers. Thanks a lot hasbro.

Oh don't get me wrong...even though I don't like the toys or the cartoon, I'm very impressed with their ability to match the animation models. I have to give credit where credit is due, and Hasbro did an excellent job with that aspect. Still, they're just not my cup of tea and I see nothing wrong with that. Also, I thought they actually looked more human-esque than they needed to. That's part of the thing that turned me off about them.

Wow. He's giving his opinion, his personal opinion and said nothing derogatory to anyone. Just simply stated how he felt.
...and you personally attack him for it.

Perhaps you should change your rudeness rating to at least a 1. From my standpoint, it's so high, you have to come down some just to hit the top of the meter.

For someone who loves realistic looking alt modes, I love these toys! They look really fun to play. I think the transformations and the design of the alt modes are very sophisticated, even if they look like anime.

In the end, it's all about the fun. I'm getting at least 3 of these for sure.

Once again, it seems the entire point of the figures and cartoon are lost on us as collectors. They aren't making these toys for us...they are making them for KIDS (granted some of us adults are less grown up than others...). If the KIDS like the cartoon OR if the KIDS like the toys they are liable to beg to watch/have-parents-buy buy the other. If the KIDS like it, they will grow up liking them and we will continue to have TF's far into the future. Can you imagine what the reaction would have been if these type of forums existed when they shrunk GI Joe to the three inch figures? "OMG, they will NEVER sell!" "Dear God, they don't have Kung Fu grip! Nobody will want them!" Kind of a funny thought...but I digress. Hasbro does cater to the collectors/fans in many ways- classic colors, familiar names, some similar storylines, Autobots vs Decepticons (though Beast Wars was a deviation from that, successful though it was), but all in all for every 1 figure sold to collectors, 1,000 figures will be sold to parents with kids or kids spending their allowances. You just can't bank on 0.1% to maintain a good clientele...it's the 99% that will make you the most money. So honestly, look at these figs from a kids point of view. What mattered to us as kids? Figures that LOOKED LIKE THE CARTOONS! Guess what? We have figures that LOOK LIKE THE CARTOON! Oh the horror!!!

There's an attraction to collecting anime figures, and as anime toys, these transformers are amazing. If you compare these to the typical Final Fantasy figures, then you will realize how lucky we are. Not only are these figures superb looking, but the transformations are sophisticated.

When I look at some of the bot modes, I am amazed that they actually look like the alt modes when transformed. The figures look so GOOD! With even the movie transformers, the bots had to be compromised because of certain features of the alt mode or limitations of size (eg. Voyager Starscream), whereas these animated Transformers look absolutely fantastic in bot mode.

I was immediately won over by the quality of the bot and alt modes. I guarantee that these will be highly valuable in the future, just because future generations will recognize the incredible quality of these toys.

Take a second look at the alt mode of Megatron - it looks straight out of a movie. The alt mode of Cybertron Megatron looks like a friggin kids toy.

In my opinion, this range of toys are easily the MOST exciting thing to come out besides the original G1 toys, and the movie toys. In some ways, I think these are even better than the movie toys. The bot modes are EASILY the best looking bots of any tranforming toy range ever made.

The reason I think this, is because when I look at the bot modes - they look straight out of the cartoon - in other words they look like static non-tranformable bot modes, because the quality is so good.

True, but how can you truly say "realistic" when you are talking about entirely fictional characters? Especially in a setting roughly 100 years in our future? For all we know, the human race will evolve to look like that scary little girl...(which would actually justify genocide IMO)

The animation still stinks. They are animated with human fluidity. That is impossible since they have metal bodies. Metal or any alloy does not bend around like jelly, and the mouths are all over the place. They're ROBOTS, not Teen-Titans wearing armor.

That aside, some of the toys seem pretty decent. That Blitzwing looks pretty tight, as does Starscream. BB looks fairly decent. Starscream is nice, but his face is just...wrong. The rest don't really appeal to me.

      actually...sorry I spit chocolate milk out when I read that last part, very funny...I meant the 80's show was realistically designed... these are clearly not, and yeah fictional or not, G-1 had a "realism" to it..Yet, I can see Beast Wars happening in Live action one day...

Anythow, these designs are still nice though and it opens the door for highly stylized versions of other characters..

Take a good look at the above bot - can you honestly say you've seen a better looking bot? I would never have guessed it transformed. It looks like one of those fake static renditions of the bot mode that doesn't transform.

Everything about this bot is proportioned properly. There's no compromises to hands, leg size, arm size, body size or head size. I can honestly say that even the legendary Yamato 1:48 VF-1S bot mode doesn't hold a candle to the look of this bot.

Not that it's exact, but it really looks like that Jet!! which by the way I love...I just wish SS would be released in his G-1 colors.. that would be cool!!

What does it for me is the purity of the design.

One thing I found with the G1 Transformers and most of the other editions, were that they comprised of a hodge-podge of designs and were inconsistent. For example, the faces were unrealistic and cartoonish, whereas some of the bot forms tried to look realistic.

Whereas for these animated TFers, from alt mode to bot mode - there is a purity of design, there is no compromise. As a work of art, this range of toys is easily the best I've seen. Although I don't particularly care for the cartoon, I would collect at least 3 of these toys just because they are a piece of ART.

I think all of these are art they have great look in both modes. What just made me die for these are its a vehichle then you transform it it looks like a action figure the articulation looks limitless and i like how the price range is as high as just 20$ so it will save me so much money with the stupid leader/supreme classes that take up to much space.

Can you even see how this would transform into a bike? I just can't figure out in my head. It really looks like they cheated, and it's a non-transformable bot. The transformations are the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen.

If you compare it to say the movie transformers, they had to compromise so much. The feet are compromised, some of them don't even have hands.

With the animated TFers, the hands are beautiful, the feet are beautiful. The head is beautiful. The dimensions are attractive. Beautiful piece of art.

It is nice how these figures seem to not have to compromise much for the either form. I think one thing that helps is most if not all of these figures do not have any gimmicks to hinder some things on the figure.

I know unquestionably the best bike transformer ever made. I cant see how it would transform either it just looks so solid in both modes also i hope he comes with his big shuriken(lol) Look at this one http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=view&al ... 0&start=20
I really like this one i also have a great amont of queston about how it transforms the sculpt is very nice and it looks very articulated and well balanced for a cannon of that size on his arm.

Most of the figures look good (i.e. Starscream, Megatron, Soundwave, Optimus (call me crazy if you'd like), while some are just... not that good (under non-blunt terms). Well, I'll pick up most of the awesome figs (i.e. Grimlock, Optimus, Megatron) & I might (slim chance) pick up the rest.

As for the show, since I live in Canada, I probably won't see it until the fall of next year (unless YTV can pick up the show during next summer) then I might give it a watch or two, & until that time when the toys come, I might as well look around for older figs I don't have.

Oh, & I agree with Koloth :)

since i collect gundams, marcross, and transformer.....i think these animated design are the best designs i seen in any anime or transformer series ever....!!!!!

i mean some of the figures in bots form dont even look like they transform 2 anything like a cycle or truck but they do.

Yes i dont like some of the designs(Bumblebee) like talkin about but i aslo know i will like 2 see more pics or acturally see ppl with the toys b4 i make a final decision on them.

And wat with the whole metal physics talk about. Sheesh ppl jusy because their jaw or tummy rolls or make shape they we know metal doesnt mean we should pass judgement on a KID aim Cartoon. Let me repeat......KID AIM CARTOON. Plus we accept the crazy idea of organic, metals property in beast wars so y judge heavying on a cartoon aim at kids.

the toys is wat really matter anyway plus we gettin 3 differ toys designs between now and 2008 wit the movie toys, animated toys and the long awaited classics coming out that we FANS should be rejoicing not be critics of toys that still in devolping stages

Since nobody havent mention it..........I think Prowl is the best Cycle 2 Bot Figure i have eva seen

I like how it looks like Megatron's helmet is actually a separate piece, rather than part of his head.

Kid aimed cartoon is not the issue, the issue is, that these are robots, not humans, or any carbon-based life form. Alloys do not flex or flow like that, and kids should be smart enough to know that. I know I did. I am so sick of the excuse "It's for kids" used to justify cartoons that are dumbed down, and/or are cheaply animated. Kids deserve better. It takes more time and effort to animate mechanical moving parts than a fluid curving arm. American cartoons are so far behind in quality and detail compared to great Japanese anime such as Gundam, and Macross, it's sickening. This cartoon makes the 1980's one look stunning.

Back to the toys, I can see some people's POV about the way tey transform, and how tere is little kibble, etc. All very good points. But they still look too "kiddiefied" for me to go to the toy aisle and pick these things up. I'm used to, and like the sophisticated look of Transformers like the movie line, Cybertron, Classics, and of course, Alternators. IF only they did a cartoon for the Classics line, that would have really made things a lot better.

The stories of the new cartoon can be really great. We don't know yet, but assuming they will be, the look won't do it justice. No disrespect intended for those who do like it.

This looks beter and better. Sure, some of the Chins are brutally long, but I can live with it. Blitzwing looks fantastic, and I hope to see something of Shockwave soon...

They are still aleins with make the metal no really matter. Also the toys look to kiddie well toys are made for kids just to lets ya in on that little secret and robot heros are worse and they dont transform but people like them??? I just think its the new serries predjudice syndrome. g1 has really crappy animation and no one complains about it. It dose it just looks so ehhhhhhh. At least this cartoon is more fluid and they have a good range of movement. It is also the future so it could be a possibility metal can move like that in the future so w/e . Not checking my spelling so excuses me for that off to bed for me. :-?

Supposed to update weekly, but lately he just seems to do the whole month and dump them all on the first. So you get about 3-4 comics the first of every month which is nice but then you have nothing to look forward to until nest month. I love how he addressed the movie this month. It isn't all transformers though.

Prowl is probably one of the most impressive in the line. Absolutely no kibble at all. And nothing overly obvious about his transformation. And lets not forget Blitzwing. He looks great as well I'm very impressed that the only part of the tank visible in jet mode are the treads. You may not like the asthetics but you have to admit these are technically impressive figures.

Plus I think this stuffy fandom needs something new. All anyone seems to want is a perfect rendition of G1. Even Alternators as great as they were got the occasional complaint. Someone has the wrong Alt mode or it isn't G1 enough. I really wish more people would read the little comic in my sig. Because it is amazing to me just how exactly like that so many people really do act. It isn't parody or exageration at all it is a snippit of reality.
