SW's SilverHammer wrote:Hey I want a Neo-Classics Exhaust, Roadrage (SG tracks doesn't count), Overcharge, Deep Cover or Tigertrack. Granted, I never cared about Blue Bluestreak, that one seemed a little vanilla to me.
I'm working on kit bashing together a Tigertrack and Diaclone Red Sunstreaker from my Universe 2.0 Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. I upgraded those two a while back to their Henkei versions on my "Classics" shelves and thought I should do something interesting with the leftover Universe versions I had on hand.

While Oilmaster`s shell does not have articulation like standard figures these days, i do notice his head turns in the pictures. So we get atleast a upgrade in articulation

Both, as I understand it.

That's what I was thinking. Or the SG Thundercracker that was also his action master colors. Or SG Wheeljack that was also Slicer.

As I said before, his debut in Badlands gave him the name "Oilmaster", after a Japanese blogger by the name of "Abura Choujin", which roughly translates to Oil Master. I should note he's a noted gorilla enthusiast, so he joins our Monzo in the Hall of Shout-Outs

To all three: the Shell, and the Swerve and Flanker redecos. Again, his conscience is split between the three bodies according to the bio.
I'm surprised nobody is commenting on his weapons, as they're redecoed from two Construct-Bot weapons: Optimus Prime's short sword, and Megatron's rifle.

The inner robots look pretty cool but for the price point people are gonna want for this thing.....I'll definitely pass.

I find the concept fine, the executionis awful by modern standards, and I don't care if it's intended. In a contemporary setting I find the concept works where the robot and shell aesthetic is combined like skullgrin, thunderwing, black shadow, and bludgeon, or alternatively something more custom like primo's work.
I have an awesome idea for how to revamp the pretender concept, but it's still in development. I actually want to pitch it to Hasbro when I'm done with perfecting it.

Other companies have been rather successful with the "Matryushka Doll" gimmick, look at SoC GX-39 Baikanfu and Masterpiece King Exkaiser

My idea is a little more involved than nesting doll gimmicks but I want both of those.

A Weibo user by the name of Lost-Zzl has provided images of a brand new deco on the Generations Roadbuster mold (you can see the original, in our galleries, right here) and it's a deco you'd expect on a vehicle such as this, but seems to come from a source most of us have forgotten: Generation 2!
General Optimus Prime was meant to be a redeco of Autoroller Dirtbag, but was canceled towards the end of the Generation 2 line, back in the early '90s and the figure never really saw the light of day, outside of a few images and some convention displays. The reason we say this is unconfirmed is because we've yet to hear anything about this figure coming to this year's BotCon and we definitely haven't heard anything of this particular deco, but there are some things that support it's potential release.
Here's G2 General Optimus, to refresh your memory:
First of all, Lost-Zzl has this Roadbuster on hand along with several already revealed and in hand upcoming exclusive releases and second, it has what looks to be a professionally (factory) applied tampograph of the Generation 2 Autobot logo on it's backend in vehicle mode.
Since this is out of left field and the first we're hearing of this, we're telling everyone to take this with at least a grain of salt, but to hope for the best and as of right now it could be a BotCon attendee exclusive or even a part of the TCC. You know the drill: As soon as we know, you will!
So, remember...

That said, I'm still really surprised this wasn't made from one of Dump Trucks we already have molds of. Or maybe they could've waited a year or so and done if from a future Dump Truck mold we have coming out as part of Combiner Wars...

There is never more than one voyager in the convention exclusives. I would still want this just for my G2 shelf. But hopefully Renderform can improve it like he did Megaplex. He needs a proper head some G2 accurate missiles that can clip to his shoulders.
Also here we go again with the flip flopping…
Botcon 2012 – No 3rd parties in the dealer room
Botcon 2013 – 3rd parties are ok (need to attract more dealers)
Botcon 2014 – Didn’t go (you tell me)
Botcon 2015 – No 3rd parties in the dealer room
Botcon 2016 prediction - 3rd parties are ok again (Chicago flopped)

Also the AoE Hound-esque vibe coming from this redeco makes me more annoyed that I still haven't seen the Voyager Hound figure for sale where I live at all. Millions of those Power Battler or one step changer versions, sure... but not the one I actually want to pay money for. Guess it's gonna be another search on eBay... though I do so like buying figures from the shelves like when I was a kid.

Of course, if this does happen, they will have the good sense to understand that they are still TFs, who have somehow partnered with Diaclone people (possibly piloting target master mechs, or just supersized in the same way that the Diaclone partner of magnificus was - http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Magnificus_(G1) )
I suspect that future diaclones will be:
- powered convoy (with diaclone driver repaint of that white thing in the current idw inspired version)
- blue powered convoy recolour of combiner wars optimus
- red mirage coloured dragstrip
- other diaclone recolours of combiner wars figures
I also wouldn't be surprised to see waspinator getting some recolours (fox kids, transmetal, etc).
Enjoy, and remember that i told you so!

Maybe next year: FunPub can not use molds that are used by Hasbro at the time. In other words, any toy that's newly put on the shelf can't be used until Hasbro's done. So for this year, Combiner Wars are out
As the setting is Axiom Nexus, home of the TransTech (which has nothing to do with the aborted line aside from the designs), the theme is simple: Anything goes (within limits)!

G2 Autoroller Optimus Prime. Had a Construction vehcile dump truck. Not a combat jeep looking vehicle.

I hope both this and the "urban cammo" version of the same mold come out, too, preferably with new names for each (and no "us army" tampographs on them).
I'm going to rename him as a synonym to "convoy":
Possibly "Safeguard", " Cavalcade", "Crocodile", or something else.
What I WOULD like to see printed on him is the term "Military Convoy", or " Rolling Thunder" which would be fitting, right?
The urban cammo version (Hound) could be from this pool:
Perhaps "Scout", " Bird-Dog ", "Hunt-Down", "Tracker", "Badger", "Bombardier",
" Cannoncade", "Track-Down".
I hope these two are generic "grunts" in the Autobot forces. Heck, I'd also love a red version to represent the genetic Autobot Soldier models used in the Fall of Cybertron game.
Anyone else?

Looks like I'll have to pay £10 over the usual Voyager price to buy him new on ebay. Free delivery though. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?siteid=0&pub=5574891718&campid=5336631220&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2FTransformer-Generations-Age-Of-Extinction-Voyager-Hound-NEW-%2F391119349863%3Fpt%3DLH_DefaultDomain_3%26hash%3Ditem5b1087a867%26
Also they have an unofficial Leader Class Hound figure from another seller there.

Tell me truthfully. Have you read any of the TransTech stories that Fun Pub has produced? Because Fun Pub's TransTech is not a Beast Machines sequel and has nothing to do with the original abandoned Transtech series. All Fun Pub did was take the character designs of the canceled series and recycle/reinvent them for something new entirely.MartianSpyGirl1996 wrote:This set is getting worse and worse... how does this have anything to do with TransTech, the planned Beast Machines sequel. FunPub made a universe to explore what it would've been like, and this year's set is suppose to take place in said universe, yet no TransTech are being used... they have definitely dropped the ball with this IMHO
