Transformers Kingdom core class Megatron and Starscream have been found in the US at Target, which means the entirety of Kingdom wave 2 has been found in the US before the end of this year's first quarter. They were found in Canada at Walmart a little while before that. We have a video review for both of these toys below in case you want to know more before going on the hunt looking for them.

Also, for those curious, there are wave 1 repacks in this second wave of core class figures. Here is the box breakdown:

3x Megatron
1x Vertebreak
3x Starscream
1x Rattrap

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Starscream is the best smaller scale Transformer I've handled in a very long time, I look forward to buying this mold several times over in a rainbow of colors. Megatron is actually better than I thought, I just thought the silver would be a little brighter but the gunmetal coloring is still cool. Both figures would make great additions to your collection.

I don't think that's a fair characterization. Just because the classics figure had already utilized that transformation previously, and because Kingdom Cyclonus is different from Universe Cyclonus it doesn't make ER Screamer lazy. It's still a pretty good figure, I dare say the transformation works better for him than it did for the classics version (which I never liked).

Yeah, if ER Starscream is lazy, then so are Energon Starscream and FOC Starscream for reusing G2 Smokescreen's transformation (I would have said 2010 Terradive as well but he actually added a few extra steps to the same core transformation process, so he makes an effort to be a bit different).

I'm not talking ONLY about the transformation. I'm also talking about the overall look of everything, down to the same kibble going at the same place. It even have the same sternum collar! We are far passed having the "same skeleton". ER Starscream could have been totally reinvented... like the unexpected Core Class Starscream.

Yeah ER Screamer only shares a transformation, with a few steps different (like the feet, and the way the arms fold). It's a bit unfair to bash him for it when there's really no need to redesign the wheel.

And universe Cyclonus wasn't trying to be toon accurate anyway (resembling more his IDW look at the time) so of course there was going to be a bigger difference.

From what I am getting, you're not saying it is a bad figure, just already done in its entirety. The ER Starscream mold is awesome to me but if I had a figure from a few years ago that was practically the exact same figure with the difference being the new one is in scale, to current figures, I'd get it but I wouldn't think much of it either. Lazy doesn't necessarily mean bad.

Exactly. But still, things come to taste a bit stale when it's always the same old, same old. For me, the Siege seeker is superior because he was totally FRESH.
There's nothing wrong with "comfort foods." But trying new things is much more rewarding.

Just saw Roddy. I honestly could have done without the standalone car mode, I don't think it was really necessary and the aesthetics of the camper mode suffer slightly because of its existence.

But he's still "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!" Or will be when I have the money, anyway.

And I'm glad to see that it looks like I was wrong: seems he doesn't do the faux-parts hood chest.

Hmm... Looks like he might be a bit taller. He better be taller, since ER Optimus is in fact undersize.

But in any case, up yours Hanna. Kingdom Roddy is a lot more solid, he has a lot more invested in the engineering and mass.
Plus, y'know, there's this whole not-inconsequential essential part of him:

Zelda being all or nothing ag...
Looking at my ER Optimus Prime with it's basically 200$ upgrade kit.
........oh.........

But seriously Zelda, that's exactly it. Roddy may be as tall as Optimus, or just a wee bit taller. But he IS "meaty" and that trailer is way more full and complex than ER Optimus's "Tupperware".

Galvatrons treads look a bit, different I guess and likely to rely on third party products to make them less different.

As for Rodimus, Hasbro was comfortable making profit at $50 for a commander class figure so if he gets a realistic price at some point like Jetfire did, he might just be worth it.

Not really a good comparison between MP and standard retail. Still, while I understand better now the engineering behind the toys, and why Price Point is not solely based on height, I believe some people's objection to Rodimus being a CC is still valid. Based on comments from others, then I guess Hasbro can release a 16 pack of Micromasters, and call that "Commander Class" release as well.

We're talking Transformers and their price points, at least to me, have never been about 'mass' but rather 'complexity'. The base Rodimus figure is, supposedly, equivalent in the complexity of transformation and articulation that Jetfire and Sky Lynx have. I don't think it has ever been about size or amount of plastic. Packaging used to have a skill level on display front and center and that number went up and down based upon price point. The mass increase was a side effect of increasing the complexity of the toy. I can take TR Leader Overlord and Earthrise Leader Optimus Prime and Prime, while being smaller, is a far more complex of a transformation than Overlord, and Overlord is practically a triple-changing Duocon. The trailer is just to make it more 'G1'.

Also no electonics in the voyager and having to buy a deluxe or third party to partially complete the voyagers bits and bobs compared to the MP toy version with his gubbins and alt faces for both modes. I kinda keep forgetting about MP Primals eyes lighting up myself. Maybe Hasbro can rerelease it with a voice chip along with a David Kaye Megatron but not sure if a Primal that threatens slapping around his team mates would be acceptable lol

It will be interesting to see POTP Leader Rodimus vs Kingdom CC rodimus. It looks to be a leader at CC price but Kingdom rodimus might have a few tricks to convince people otherwise (not likely me though if the car is a similar width or thinner than WFC Primes cab)

A second accessory pack?!?!

Leaks state it's a Blast Effect pack. Kinda supported by the wording in the announcement.

Exactly, I've bought extra Battlesmasters just to get the effects so I for darn sure want a box of just effects.

Reminds me of this:

Oops! All blast effects...

I'm actually happier with a Blast Effect pack over an accessory pack. With a Weapons pack you get a-tier items like mini Megatron and Soundwave next to z-tier Ironhide's Drillgun-that's-constantly-a-bonus-weapon-but-isn't-iconic-at-all.

Though personally I would've killed for a Ramp pack that was basically a LEGO set of AIRlock parts.

Not really a good comparison between MP and standard retail.

Why not? We've reached a point where Earthrise Leader Class Optimus Prime is as complex as MP-10.
If commander Rodimus is as complex as Masterpiece Rodimus, why should we expect to pay so much less?

This is a very good point, that I think we should explore since it hits the nail on the head. Maybe the issue here is about branding. I wrote above about how people don't bat an eye when it comes to MPs being pricier than retail even though they are the same height and you said it wasn't a fair comparison. Now I get what you mean, the issue is not really about price but branding. So far with commander class toys, Hasbro released bigger figures. And then Rodimus comes along and it turns out the costs were all based on parts count, kind of like an MP figure. Yet he's within a line where double jointed hands and higher complexity is not a thing, so people are like "what's this extra quality and parts count, get out of here, so be tidal wave with less articulation instead". So what would have been best, instead, is to not label him a commander class but simply call him "Rodimus Prime" and charge the same 80$.

And Hasbro has done that already. Your comment about the minicons was smart. Here is the Amazon set of 6 minicons: https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Tra ... E0SN68PQ12?tag=seibertron07-20&
It's at the voyager price point, exactly. But Hasbro didn't call it a voyager. They should do the same with Rodimus.

So yes, I still think people are very stupid for needing a different class name and not just looking at class=price point, but hey simple minded people just need simple solutions to get along with their day, and giving Rodimus his own label would have been a simple solution.
