This is perhaps the least newsworthy listing that could've appeared on online retailer Amazon.com, but it does bring us further confirmation of the release of the Generations Power of the Primes (but really Combiner Wars) Blast Off figures that was initially seen with Weibo (here) and later on ACD Distribution (here).

The listing, which has no description, no price, no images, no dates, does confirm the latter coverage linked above, and comes with an ASIN (the Amazon equivalent of an ISBN) and item number, and is called 'Special Edition'. Make of that what you will, as you join the discussion in the Energon Pub!

ASIN B077YYP738
Item model number E1796

If the art is accurate, it's a redeco. Here's a stock photo of the UW figure:

We do have a likely confirmation that he'll come with his original HFG piece and gun, not the PotP Armor Hand.

I saw that review from TFormers ENI I think where he said that like 20 times but why isn't it one?

Its just classification, like where books go in a library. It often gets revised as well. As of right now, scientists say that pteranodons do not belong in the same group called Dinosaurs (and neither do others like the plesiosaur).

To clarify, I aiming at the pop culture definition, which is always a lot broader than the scientific one (I mean, Power Rangers called the Mastodont and Saber Tooth Tiger dinosaurus, while they're mammals and came way after their extinction)

The clade Dinosauria is land-based for the most part, with the included current birds and some ancient Maniraptorians capable of powered flight. Flying reptiles are in the separate, but on the same level, Pterosauria, while marine reptiles are either part of Ichtyosauria or Plesiosauria.

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Is Pteranodon called a flying Dinosaur? :HEADHURTS:

We can possibly blame Shattered Glass Blot's bio for that, or maybe Prime Beast Hunters. G1 Blot didn't look like anything (even an ambulatory nose would be a good guess), and his instructions just call him "Monster".

Hasbro owns the Transformer brand, and yes they can tell Takara what to do when it comes to the licence of the brand. With the release of Power of the Primes it has been stated Hasbro told Takara they cannot make any changes to this line. With the fandom for the Japanese G1 Continuity Im sure we would have gotten Hydra and Buster repaints. We probably would have gotten better decos for the PotP line as well.

What's that mean?

Even if its under licence, Hasbro owns the brand and IP. That's been established since 1984. All its means is licencee but the IP is Hasbro. If it were Takara's actual brand why did they get the TF line 1 year after the US if they owned it in the first place? Answer that and I'll wait... The toys may have originated form various Takara brands (remember Tomy had it's own brand and was competition for Takara until there merger in 2006) but the actual IP is Hasbro and they have more sway...thus why we are not going to get anymore Takara redecos going forward.

But you guys are the experts so...

TakaraTomy already fixed one issue with the UW Shuttler (aka RiD Movor) redeco: the head is now less likely to pop off randomly. Such mold tweaks or fixes are permanent most of the time.

What Hasbro owns is the Transformers name, character names, and likenesses (and maybe the cartoon eps produced by Marvel and Sunbow), but they don't own the toys, even the toys Hasbro made themselves like Rescue Bots. It's really not much different from when they got GoBots from buying Tonka, they got the character names and brand name, but the toys and toy likenesses stayed with Bandai and the cartoon Likenesses stayed with Hanna Barbera/WB. Owning something doesn't mean you own all of it. Oh, and Hasbro can't take anything away from Takara Tomy since Japan has its own trademark and copyright laws so they also own the same names and whatnot (in Japan), but also own the figures. It's very complicated, but don't confuse Hasbro being allowed to take the lead on things with them being able to tell Takara Tomy what to do. Takara Tomy releasing Power of the Primes like this is because they want to and they'd rather focus their resources elsewhere.

Oh, and the 10 pounds on Blast Off is probably the case weight erroneously being entered.

At that point, they might as well make a whole new mold since Sky Lynx lacks a traditional robot mode (and his torso mode doesn't resemble that of King Poseidon).

If they make the Seacons they have to include the Targetmaster gimmick to give us all 6 or make the 6th one into a chest armor or something like what they did in Combiner Wars. And I wouldn't mind if for example Sea Wing turns into Piranacon's sword.

It was speculated that the face on Hun-Gurrr at HasCon -- the one that was hidden by a decepticon symbol -- was actually a remolded head for Snaptrap. If you look at some of the other forums, a retool into Snaptrap could actually work out.

Again we are talking about speculation here, but it seems like we have a lot of the pieces for the Seacons (and we have discussed this before). After seeing the Terrorcons, I definitely see Hasbro **AT SOME POINT** doing some retooling to make Seacons. It might not be for PotP but...

Hun Gurrr can be retooled into Snaptrap

Overbite and Skalor could both be relatively simple retools of Rippersnapper, and still look right in beast mode, though the transformation might be backward from the original toys.

Seawing could be a Swoop/Cutthroat retool. Basically just reverse the mold for the manta ray mode. Swoops bot mode arms becomes the manta legs, and the bot mode legs become the manta head.

Nautilator could just be based of Sinnertwin. Remove the back legs, pop some crustacean-like legs either on the torso, or the arms. If the arms have the beast legs, then the beast head has the claws attached as an accessory. If not, the arms are the claw arms.

Tentakil, is a toughy. I can see it being another Swoop based mold done in the same way as Seawing. Or it could be done in a similar manner as Nautilator. Any thoughts on this one?

Anyway, it's all just speculation at this point. Hasbro has probably bottled things up even further after the PotP big leak over the summer.

Image if you look closely you'll see that the head behind the decepticon sigil is not Hun-Grrr's head. Pretty much every figure Hasbro makes has a secondary head to be used for repaints should the need arise. I don't think it's Snaptraps head though. I prefer the IDW Strafe theory.

1. I hope :HASBRO: makes them 2. I would bet that if :HASBRO: does make them set will be 1 voyager and 5 deluxe figures. 3. Your list of retools makes good sence to me (it should i was thinking the same thing) except snaptrap from hun-gurr?

Why would :HASBRO: display or even make a Hungurrr with a Snaptrap head? #-o

It can't be Snaptrap because those heads are tied with other significant parts. Snaptrap is a turtle (without a robot mode in the Masterforce anime like all the Seacons if I may add), so his head is likely tied to those turtle parts, and not Hun-Gurrr's Algean two-headed razorbeast parts.

And who says it has to be G1? Onslaught's alternate head was revealed to be Armada Demolishor, so the Unicron Trilogy and Beast Wars by extension are fair game as well.

Optimus Prime is so much fun.

BTW, don't put both Prime and Rodimus Prime's Matrices in Overlords chest. I had to unscrew his torso to get them out.

5 Deluxes? Would be cool and very much like the old toy. But I'm not sure if I don't prefer Sea Wing to be the sword. :-?

On further reflection it would possibly be overbite or nautilator that would get the legends treatment to become the gun (might be wrong but I think it was overbite who wound up becoming the gun in masterforce)

Five deluxes is a stretch as they would have to come with accessories to turn their combiner port into a handle for a gun mode.

Forget that: think of the weight and those poor hip joints on the arms! Some have problems with Legends Class Weapon Modes already, let alone Deluxe Class ones.

If Piranacon is made, its probably Nautilator who'll get left out. He was left out of the Hasbro giftset, plus the BWII God Neptune redeco.

What if it's Cybertron Scourge, not a total match, but the bot mode is burly and the beast mode is a multi-headed dragon, or it could also be rid megs, as he was a two-headed dragon also :-?

I forgot about theweight aspect, it probably would break the joints! Suppose the old g1 toy couldn't lift it's weapon up either, awesome idea in theory (that of the limbs having a gun form) but not very practical in reality.

I wonder if Moonracer's and Novastar's arm modes will work better because of the extra shelled elbows :-?

Ok, so I picked up Rodimus Prime yesterday, and I have to say I am glad I did not really listen to the negative talk on the figure, this guy is really awesome!

I really like the space winnebago mode, it's awesome! And it all tabs in properly, it looks slick, and it's totally unique to my collection.

Hot Rod's car mode is pretty good too. the only small gripe I have is that his windshield and hood are ever so slightly gapped. But that's really it.

Hot Rod mode is the weakest mode in my opinion. But it's still not bad. It's mainly in the arms that things are wonky.

Rodimus Prime mode is awesome. I love how Hot Rod transforms into the torso and shoulders for Prime mode. It's awesome! And to me, it's a bit more creative than just folding into a box and inserting into someones chest. This thing is fun and he is awesome!

They did not have Optimus, but I plan to use him to order the SG Roddy as quick as I can.

As a side note, it is going to be so much fun to swap some parts considering there are 4 pieces to each Rodimus. Make a half black/half outlandish Prime

I'd say Nautilator gets the downsize into legends. Isn't he normally the one they shaft into being the gun?
