The official BotCon Twitter account has announced it will be revealing a lot of news in the following month, and they started out by talking about the TCC Magazine 2014 Club Comic. It appears the story will focuson Protoform X and Transmutate, in keeping with the exclusive 2014 figures and will also show some old favourites - who do you think it'll be? Discuss in the Energon Pub!

• The next month is going to have al KINDS of announcemnets regarding the TCC, the Magazine and BotCon… Let's drop some news today.
  
• The writers for the TCC Magazine 2014 Club Comic are @MSipher and @TrentTroop… The story will focus on Protoform X and Transmutate.
  
• Prologue is being written by Jesse Wittenrich (@RID_NightViper) and Pete Sinclair.
  
• Prologue will feature the very first fictional appearance of some Neo-Classic characters i.e. Beast Era as well as some OLD favorites.
  
• The timeline the story takes place in is one that has been teased thru other stories, but has never gotten a real good look at, until now.

As noted in our previous Dairycon Announcement:


We revealed Overdrive Convoy, the Dairycon 2014 Lucky Draw Exclusive! Combined with [url=Bunny Convoy]http://dairylandtransfans.com/2014fig1.html[/url], the Dairycon 2014 Regular Raffle Exclusive, it's turning into quite the show!

There was mention of a 'Fabulous 14' Assortment (celebrating 14 years of Dairycon in the Fandom) and along with the interesting super-song lyrics, it's finally revealed:

Dairycon Fabulous Fourteen Assortment!

Part One:

Clutterbug

Allegiance: Dairycon Classic
Function: Salvage
Quote: "Catch as catch can!"

Profile:'Disorganised' is a nice way of describing Clutterbug. Anything that gets thrown out, she'll drag back again. Believes everything has some sort of value, and should be kept for future use. As a result, her nest looks like a hoarder's paradise, with piles of this and that scattered all over. The uber-packrat.

Abilities: Clutterbug has excellent sensors; she's able to detect raw materials from several feet down, even in a landfill. Can analyze the content of an object an instantly give a breakdown of its composition. Serrated pincers can cut thru most materials. In times of extreme crisis, she can unleash all her energy into one spark-attack, but this action leaves her defenseless afterwards.

Weaknesses: Her messiness is her greatest flaw; even Blot thinks she should spruce up a little. Telling her she needs to clean things up will be met with cold stares and silence. Not much of a team player.

Shining Spider

Function: Espionage Director
Quote: "I'm More Than Meets the Fly!"

Profile: This Gold Bug has a storied history. As the right-hand 'bot to the Autobot Leader, he's been on many adventures and survived to tell the tale. After an encounter with the Decepticon Sixshot that resulted in Metroplex abandoning his team, The former Throttlebot commander went into hiding. Lost during the era that Transformers turned into animals, he eventually turned up in the future sporting a new look and a new name.

Abilities: Shining Spider is the matured version of his former self. Hailing from the future, SS has the ability to remain undetected in altmode, as well as an unusual immunity to both Scraplets and the Hate Plague. Can shoot webbing of any size that traps and incapacitates his enemies just like flies, while he probes them for information. Has unusual strength for his frame. Carries a molecular transfer device, an old weapon that doesn't seem to fit his current profile.

Weaknesses: His Expectations Shattered by his former comrades, Shining Spider leads a new team in his quest for Justice. Cracks jokes that none of his enemies find funny. Still makes public service announcements to humans, much to their dismay. Considered by all to be an Amazing Friend

Danger Convoy

Function: Secret Agent
Quote: "Blast!"

Profile: The world's greatest secret agent; so secret in fact, that his codename has a codename. He speaks 14 languages fluently, including some extraterrestrial ones. He regularly balances himself on his index paw. Referred to as the "Mouse Convoy" by Uncle Whiskey Breath.

Abilities: A practitioner of the ancient martial art of kung-metallo; having bitten off a piece of the oracle, he was endowed with special Convoy of Justice powers, turning him into Danger Convoy.

Weaknesses: Longs to give up his role as a Convoy of Justice and return to his music career. Can't decide on his DJ handle, though he is leaning toward 'Convoy Mouse'. Paws, while strong, are useless for holding weapons.

Takara Tomy is showing off the first two figures in their e-Hobby and Takara Tomy Mall exclusive Transformers Cloud line at Tokyo's Super Festival. TFC-A01 Optimus Prime is a repaint of Voyager Classics Optimus Prime available via the Takara Tomy Mall. TFC-D01 Megatron is a reuse of the GDO Voyager Megatron mold, which itself is a redeco/remold of the ROTF Bludgeon mold, is available via e-Hobby. Recent information suggests the Transformers Cloud line with consists of eight figures total, four through each of the aforementioned retailers. Speculation based on the line's accompanying story is we will see a repaint/remold of the Generations Voyager Springer mold into Rodimus.

Also on display are a trio of officially licensed Transformers figures. The Ultimetal Optimus Prime form Action Toys is a highly detailed non-transforming display piece boasting a laundry list of awesome features:

• Diecast Construction
• Lights and Sound
• Removable Body Panels
• Moving Faceplate
• Matrix of Leadership and Ion Rifle
• Stands Approximately 17 inches Tall

On the downside this bad boy will cost you nearly $1000.00.

Art Storm has both their upcoming Roadbusters on hand. EM Gokin is a highly detailed and articulated version, however he's non-transformable. ES Gokin on the other hand is transformable, but super deformed.

The 2014 UK Toy Fair is set to take place January 21-23 at the Olympia in London, with a show floor that is sure to be incredible for any collector. For those eagerly awaiting a peek at the massive influx of Transformers: Age of Extinction merchandise, the 2014 UK Toy Fair may prove to be our first in depth look at what we will see in the months to come leading up to the movie release.



2014 marks the ”Thrilling 30th” anniversary for the Transformers brand, along with the release of Age of Extinction, so it’s a no-brainer that Hasbro has some big things to debut. Jay Duke, VP of global Transformers brand marketing at Hasbro, feels that the Transformers brand offers ever-expanding ways for fans to be entertained. In the January/February issue of ToyNews Online, Duke says:

The Transformers brand brings all new ways to be entertained and engage with the brand. Transformers: Age of Extinction will do this, as Michael Bay outlines with an all new storyline. … With a new movie, kids and fans can anticipate an innovative new product line and a variety of entertainment experiences.

Hasbro is a major sponsor of the UK Toy Fair this year, so we can anticipate an extensive array of new product to be displayed. Some things we can expect to see previewed at the toy fair include bicycles, toys, figures, games, and costumes, as well as 30th Anniversary toys and merchandise celebrating the anniversary of the franchise.

Here are some retailers that we can expect to showcase Transformers merchandise:

• Paladone Products (Stall B30) will debut a total of thirty characters, split right down the middle with fifteen Age of Extinction characters and fifteen 30th Anniversary figures.
• IMC Toys (Stall E129) has obtained a Transformers brand license for this year. Look to them for Transformers 4 Walkie-Talkes, Playsets, and RC Cars.
• MV Sports (Stall B30) will be showing off Transformers bicycles.
• Winning Moves (Stall D17) will offer Transformers 4 board games.

Other merchandise to look forward to in the upcoming months outside of the 2014 UK Toy Fair include Rubie’s brand costumes, based on Transformers: Age of Extinction. They will likely showcase Optimus Prime and Bumblebee costumes at shows in late January and early February. We can expect to see even more products start to emerge in the next few months—items like bedroom and bathroom items, role playing items, more bicycles, and even scooters.

Not only is the 30th Anniversary sure to bring an influx of exciting new products, but the release of Age of Extinction will bring with it loads of new Transformer brand merch. This is only the beginning—keep an eye out as we continue to bring you updates leading up to the release of Age of Extinction and beyond.

It looks like the Texas Comicon has added yet another Transformers voice actor to their already stellar line-up! David Sobolov, the voice of Transformers Beast Wars Depth Charge and Transformers: Prime Shockwave, will also be making an appearance.

The event takes place in San Antonio, TX June 20th thru the 22nd. Other guests include:

• Alan Oppenheimer - Warpath, Beachcomber, Seaspray
• Michael Bell - Prowl, Sideswipe, Scrapper, Swoop

By now you've probably heard that director Michael Bay "stormed off" during a Samsung presentation at CES. The video embed below shows a different side to the story and it appears as though his embarrassment, not anger, got the best of him.



A short time later, he addressed this incident by posting the following message on his website, and in this message he mentions a promotion for Age Of Extinction. Here's what Mr. Bay had to say:

Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES - I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP's intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down - then I walked off. I guess live shows aren't my thing.
But I'm doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung and Transformers 4 footage that will be traveling around the world.

As you can see, no in depth details pertaining to the footage are given, but from the sounds of it, a large display of this type is perfect for the Transformers movies and has his rare seal of approval. Makes it just that much harder to wait until June!

BotCon 2014 Theme: Pirates?

We have our first clue as to the theme of this year's BotCon thanks to D-Drive, a member of fellow Transformers fansite TFW2005. D-Drive has managed to get a hold of a copy of the Diamond Edition Transformers Timelines #8 Machine Wars comic. Within the comic an add for this year's event can be found, which features Cybertron Canonball's pirate emblem on a black flag with the following text:

They sailed across the inky-black where the heavens can't be found
No light could show, no wind could blow, no soul could make a sound
Yet each mech aboard, garbed for war, holding a cutlass or a gun
and from the spotter above came the sign - We're bound for Cybertron!

It appears this year's theme will be Pirates! BotCon 2014 will be held in Pasadena, CA June 19th through 22nd.
