Move aside Hasbro, there's a new Transformers Animated distributor in town. With Transformers Animated in full swing in the Land of the Rising Sun, it was simply time until
Takara would be releasing superior Transformers toys. Takara's version of
Animated Blackout is released before Hasbro's, and their version of
Arcee quickly follows the release of
Hasbro's counterpart, who has been nothing more than scarce in North America.
For your viewing pleasure, both
Takara Animated Blackout and
Takara Animated Arcee have made their way into the world renowned
toy galleries of Seibertron.com.
Blackout's first appearance was in the first few episodes of Season 3, wrecking havoc on Rodimus Minor's team of Autobots. His design was based off a Decepticon of the same name, the 2007 Movie Villian and fellow Military Helicopter,
Blackout. This version of
Blackout differs from Hasbro's, as it has a purple colored Decepticon logo and slightly lighter color scheme.
Arcee was Transformers Animated main Autobot fembot, making appearances in several episodes. This version of
Arcee differs from Hasbro's, featuring a red colored Autobot logo, and a different finish. Feel free to check each figure's galleries in the links below!

In addition to the Transformers Animated madness, the toy galleries of Voyager
Optimus Prime,
Grimlock,
Starscream, and Deluxe
Prowl now feature new box, robot and alternate mode comparison images!

Animated's Back! Hasbro's Q&A session with the folks over at
TFW2005 reveal that the next wave of Animated Exclusives will be once again at store chain
Toys'R'Us. Now what exactly will these figures be? There are a selection of yet to be released Animated figures, and Hasbro reveals that TRU Exclusive Wave 2 will contain Rodimus Minor and Ironhide!
Rodimus Minor is a brand new figure, while
Ironhide will likely be a repaint of Cybertron Mode Ratchet. Check out a snippet of the TFW2005 Q&A below, while the entire article can be found
here.
TFW2005: What is Hasbro's strategy for the release of the remaining, announced Transformers Animated figures such as Rodimus, Ironhide, Blackout, Thundercracker, etc.?
Hasbro: The current plan for the release of the current Animated figures is this: Toys R' Us will be carrying two waves of Animated Deluxe. The first wave will be released this Spring and will include Arcee and Cybertronian Ratchet. The second wave will be released this fall and will include Rodimus Minor and Cybertronian Ironhide. While we cannot promise that any other figures will be released, we continue to examine all of our options to make those figures that were completed available to you.

We've had a lot of rumors this month, and another one has come out of the pipes. While rumors tend to bring happiness along with them, this one has the opposite effect. We regretfully inform everyone that Hasbro might have just shut down the
Transformers Animated toy line for good. As reported by
TFormers, one of their members got a response from Hasbro in regards to Transformers Animated inquiries. This was the response.
Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. regarding the Transformers Animated Blackout and Thundercracker. We appreciate your interest in our company and products.
Regrettably, both products have recently been discontinued. We are, therefore, unable to assist you in identifying retail markets which may still have this product in inventory nor do we have any available for direct sale.
Although they are no longer in our current product line, you may still be able to find them in retail stores. Some of the retail stores that carry Hasbro products include Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Kmart, and Target.
We apologize for any inconvenience. We hope you and your family will enjoy Hasbro products for many years to come.
Now what exactly does this mean for us? Animated has been discontinued since the spring of 2009. The remaining figures we were anticipating were meant to be store exclusives, much like Toys 'R' Us with Arcee and Cybertron Mode Ratchet. Does this also mean that the presumed store exclusives have been discontinued?
The remaining Hasbro Animated figures are listed below.
Thundercracker
Blackout
Rodimus Minor
Ironhide
Vortex Blurr
Fugitive Waspinator
Wingblade Optimus Prime
Toxic Oil Slick
Mudbuster Bulkhead
Hydrodive Bumblebee
Golfire Grimlock
Whether there is truth to this rumor or simply a misunderstanding, we'll be the first ones to update everyone on the official confirmation. What's your opinion on the situation? Feel free to sound off your opinion in the Energon Pub!

Casting has begun for a new Transformers cartoon slated for next year or sometime later. Rumors had previously been stirring that a new cartoon would be made next year for Hasbro's joint project with Discovery, and this just about proves them true.
Michael Bell (voice of Generation One Prowl and others) mentioned in an interview on Moonbase2 that he has indeed auditioned for a role in a new project,
here. Generation One Arcee's voice,
Susan Blu, was also mentioned to do casting.

Pictures have shown up in regards to
Animated Deluxe Electrostatic Soundwave, a figure that we first saw at
Botcon 2009. The figure is a repaint of
Animated Deluxe Soundwave. GenZhao of
KOtoys.com was able to get his hands on the figure and has taken a very nice gallery of it. Unfortunately he was unable to obtain the '
Rat Bat' keyboard-guitar, so Soundwave's 'Laserbeak' guitar is the one featured in the pictures;
With pictures of Electrostatic Soundwave appearing, expect to see pictures of Animated Freeway Jazz, Rodimus Minor, Arcee, Ironhide, and others to be showing up as well. For the original link to the pictures, you can check them out
here.
