The movie is expected to appeal to a broad range of people (both kids watching the show now and 20-somethings who grew up watching it)

Yahoo News reports that there was bad news on Wall Street today. Hasbro has announced that the has been a bad one. The company has posted a first quarter loss of $4.9 million. Hasbro blames the slump largely on foreign currency fluctuation, new accounting rules for stock options, and a fall in sales of Star Wars merchandise. Shares of Hasbro fell 27 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $20.66 in morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange after the news of the loss was released. Read the full article at

The following press release has been sent to the Seibertron News Crew:
IDW SELLS OUT!
Swallow Book Two Among Many Sold-Out IDW Publishing Titles
San Diego, CA (April 17, 2006)¡XWhat do a reborn title, Clive Barker's latest, some transforming beasts, an art bonanza from Ash Wood and friends, and a couple vampire tales have in common? They're all among the latest IDW Publishing titles to completely sell out through Diamond. In addition to the sell-outs IDW recently experienced with SUPERMARKET #'s 1 & 2, the company announced today that the following books are also sold out through Diamond:
30 DAYS OF NIGHT: DEAD SPACE # 1 & 2
ANGEL: OLD FRIENDS # 2 & 3
CLIVE BARKER'S THE GREAT & SECRET SHOW #1
FALLEN ANGEL # 1, 2, & 3
SWALLOW BOOK TWO
TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS #2
UNDERWORLD: EVOLUTION
¡§It's great to see quality books met with such positive performance,¡¨ said IDW's Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall. ¡§We print significantly more copies than the initial orders we receive from Diamond. When we set a print run for a book, we try to print enough copies so that retailers will be able to re-order the books through the run of the series. These sell-outs caught us by a surprise, and signal a nice upturn for the industry in general. I also hope these numerous sell-outs encourage retailers to similarly recognize the demand for IDW's books and order accordingly. As much as I love to see a title sell out, I like even more for anyone who wants an IDW comic to be able to easily find it.¡¨
SWALLOW BOOK TWO will receive a second printing, along with a new cover from artist Ashley Wood. Retailers can order the second printing with item code # FEB06 806. The second print is due to arrive in stores on May 17, the same day the second printings of SUPERMARKET arrive.

Although not directly related to Transformers or the Transformers movie currently being produced, an
interview with world famous movie director/producer Steven Spielberg has popped up on the site of
BusinessWeek Online.
The article addresses the recent purchase of Dreamworks SKG to Paramount, and not to Universal who many thought were the odds on favorites to buy the Spielberg/Katzenberg/Geffen company. A business deal that has inadvertedly effected the Transformers movie, making it now a Paramount production.
"I really don't know what happened. They were talking with David Geffen. But then GE decided they wouldn't bid. And Paramount just came in and swept us up and made us feel as if we were worth something. GE wasn't willing to match it".
"I may take some time off from directing because there is nothing ready for me to direct, no script that is where I want it. But I'm definitely going to be working for Paramount. I'm very interested in Transformers, a film, which we're going to release next year. I think that will be a great, great film".
