It's hard to keep up with this new Rise of the Beasts toyline with there being so much product all coming out at the same time across the globe. When it comes to the US, almost everything has been released, now that the voyagers and flex changers have been found. Both the voyagers (which includes Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal) and the flex changers (the one steps) were found at Walmarts across the nation.
You'll also notice the absence of the main villain, Scourge, in these more kid friendly lines. Well, there's more of him coming. We now have images of Battle Changers Scourge (simple conversion toy between scout and deluxe class) and Beast Changer Scourge (with Scorponok armor). We also have images of the rest of the single released deluxes. So now you have even more options to buy everyone's favourite Bespectacled Autobot, Wheeljack.
Good news for fans of the new Transformers Retro series which has the G1 molds in the G1 show colours, Thundercracker has been found at Walmart. Canadian Walmarts for now, but he should be found in the US soon as well. He is $47.97 CAD and has while he has been found across Canada, the sighting below is from the Montreal area. There is also a review of this toy below if you are curious about mold degradation or missile firing pressure and how it looks like next to the other G1 retro figures.
News from the Rise of the Beasts toyline just keeps piling. In the world right now, the two waves of voyager class figures are being released simultaneously. Which makes sense as all these toys were produced last year and are only now making their way to retailers all at once. We saw that voyagers Primal and Prime were found in Mexico and now we have Pre (repack) and Rhinox found in Australia at KMart. That same sighting also shows us more single packed deluxe figures, like Bumblebee who we had only seen in that three pack. The images below come from Tf fan Ratchet 208.
In other sightings news, a new Mirage toy was found in the US and on E-bay. It is part of the Battle Changers assortment, which are similar to the mid sized Authentics toys.
Fans are getting their Studio Series Rise of the Bests Leader Scourge. He has been distributed to retailers across the US and Canada, so Amazon.com is shipping him out and collector shops like Geekstuff in Quebec has him on shelves. For those who did not see his packaging, you can see it below in this image from fellow canadian Seibertronian Kanrabat. We also havea video review from Chuckdawg1999 who bathed the figure in black light to reveal the look we get which is similar to what we've seen on the concept art where it looks like he is burning from within.
This is going to tickle a few of you out there, remember that Blitzwing toy/charcter from the Bumblebee movie that looked more like Starscream than anything else? Well the voyager sized Nitro Series Energon Igniter Blitzwing toy we got from that line has actually been repainted in G1 Starscream colours and is being released as Starscream in the Rise of the Beasts toyline.
It was found in Mexico, along with Flex Changers Cheetor (one step Cheetor), which is also a new toy we never saw before. This Starscream does have a wavemate and it is a rerelease of the voyager sized Nitro Series Optimus Prime, which sports his Evasion Mode body. These Energon Igniter mold reuses are all part of a Autobots Unite subline which we are assuming is store exclusive, with good odds of that being Walmart.
Hasbro had stated that the voyager class velocitron Hot Rod was not picked up by Walmart which instead was prioritizing exclusives for the Rise of the Beasts film and this could be that exclusive line they are going all in on. Of course, that is yet to be confirmed.
The images of these new Mexican sightings were found here.
While Starscream was found a little while ago, the Walmart exclusive retro G1 reissue of Hot Rod in cartoon colours has just finally been found now. We got a few reports from fans of this toy being found on shelves in the state of Florida. This is good news since some preorders were cancelled by Walmart, and with the toy being sold out online, the only way of getting it would be finding it in stores.
For those curious, we have a review below showing the big differences in deco when comparing to the previous G1 reissue. This toy comes with no stickers and every detail is painted instead.
The Transformers Rise of the Beasts Transforming masks were some of the first products we saw for the line last year. They've been sitting in US warehouses for a year now practically, and they have finally come to American shelves. The Optimus Primal and Bumblebee masks were found in Meijer in Michigan for 34.99 USD, by ziltama who posted them on the TFW2005 boards. Let us know if you'll go for these at that price. The repackaged Smash and Change Optimus Prime was also found at the same location.
The Transformers Rise of the Beasts line is being found across the world. We had sightings in the UK, the US, and now Mexico. This Mexico sighting is doubly interesting because it is our first sighting of the first wave of voyagers, and so we get our first look at this Optimus Primal toy in beast mode. While we had seen a wave that has his wavemate Optimus Prime and Rhinox, that is actually wave 2. So that means both wave 1 and wave 2 have been produced and distributed internationally, it's just a matter of time when they'll be found on your local shelves.
This sighting, by Seth Sunthay, also includes the Titan Changers. We see Cheetor, Optimus Prime and Megatron. Megatron is probably the same we've had before, but I'd be curious to see the box art, so expect an update once we get better pictures of this set of figures.
Both NEST Ratchet and Origins Jazz have been found in Canada. Since they are part of the Buzzworthy Bumblebee toyline, they are exclusive to Toysrus. These were found in Markville, Ontario, by Janitor over at Cybertron.ca. But the best news is that Jazz is $35 CAD rather than the obscene 25% markup toysus places on deluxes these days.
With Walmart and Target lagging behind online retailers, like Amazon and stores which may cater more to collectors, there can be great discrepency between the time a toy is made available to fans and the time it shows up at a big box store. So we wanted to let you know that the wave of Legacy Legacy Evolution that includes Skyquake and a repacked Dragon Megatron has been found at a Gamestop in California. It was found by Sness who posted it here.
For those wanting a review in case you aren't sure if you want to buy into this mold (since we know Dreadwing is coming too and possibly much more), here is a review that shows size comparisons.
