Original TF "cartoon" accurate film, and even if we did, it might not translate as well on film as we'd like.

I think the best we can hope for is still an all TF movie with no humans. *Still* holding out hope that someone will make this happen someday.

Oh yeah compare movies to what fans want to original cartoons what did g1 series have humans sometimes humans vs humans transformers go back in time oh yeah I can see part in movie bumblebee riding on top of Optimus in joust match against galvatron that was good, better yet humans get transported out into space on cybertron without space suits who can breath but out into space on asteroid hymnals need space suits, here is another dumb episode Daniel going with wheelie find ultra Magnus birthday present, here is world winner episode prime died in animated movie but his body was sent to sun to be destroyed humans rescued prime and became leader of autobots and all transformers and humans are turned against each other form man made virus,.

What an @$$hole. Bay is a complete and total @$$hole. I've come to terms that we'll never see a decent Transformers adaption in our lifetimes thanks to him, but I find it amusing that people still eat up the garbage he puts on their cinematic plates.

So it's his fault the screenwriters have no talent

XD But in all honesty, I don't think that these movies are all Bay's fault. The writer for the last three movies created a multitude of continuity errors in each installment. My only hope is that the "writers room" people are working on this specific movie.

And what's wrong with people liking the movies there are worse movies and those people are not you they have different opinions so next time think before insulting people who enjoy something you don't.

That name sounds familiar but I can't place it , guessing he mainly does action movies? As for Del Toro. ..I have a lot of work for him to be doing...like working with Kojima, that mountains of madness movie, a super robot movie like the kind he grew up with (live action mazinger z please)

Not sure JJ Abrams style would be that different from Bay.

Sad to report that the Kojima Del Toro project has been canned. That cancellation was confirmed last summer I believe.

The only problem I had with AOE was the dialogue, even though there were a few badass lines. Fix the dialogue, and I'll be happy.

Ridley Scott, that's a name I've not considered but then again I wasn't impressed with Promethus and don't have much hope for the follow up.

Actually since Kojima has reformed his own company he can work with del toro, they just can't make 'silent hill' but that simply allows them more freedoms

Why should it have bombed when it actually addressed many of the common complaints people had with the movies? I'll grant you that the writing was terrible; they should have fired the screenwriters, but apart from that and a bloated runtime and some unnecessary/over-extended scenes, it was actually an improvement over the first three

mind you.....it'll be interesting to see if the movie picks up where the last one ended? with Prime supposedly heading for Cybertron, as well as dealing with the Quintessons! but it's who he meets on the way that's got my interest! maybe Ultra Magnus? Blur? Kup? Rodimus? ect.....the only downside in that is what kind of a dog mess is Bay gonna make them look like?

the other major downside will be even more yawnable human exposition!(as they to & fro between events on Cybertron & Earth) even though the bloody thing's supposed to be mostly set on Cybertron! or that's the sense i'm getting!

How much of what you said was actually Bays fault? It's quite lazy to lay all of the problems at his feet.

So it's a faithful adaption to the awful G1 cartoon just with swears and slightly adult content like all blockbuster movies these days.


G1 cartoon was horrible let it die and stop limiting imagination in Hasbro's storys due to fans hating everything not G1.

Part of why mtmte is good only thing G1 is robot design.

That was true, but most of that has to do with the script...

I do wish that they did the galvatron surprise properly, but I liked Lockdown as a villain.


But I mean, in general, it addressed a lot of common complaints people have had like:

-Cutting out the dumb humor

-Giving the tf's much more screen time

-Stopped treating the tf's like props

-Giving the tf's characters, Hound was pretty well done, I found myself enjoying him, and didn't want him to die at the end... more than I can say for any other tf in the movie series

-Having interesting human characters, again, the script ruined a lot of it, but I thought the ceo guy and the main characters had some great (wasted) potential

A reboot could easily be worse like it or not what we have right now makes money and many people like it I should know my family and friends like it.

I actually had a 'wow' moment when the ship was pulling the dinobots up the building and they were running on it or whatever, the direction for that scene was great

I just aspire for them to be better because I know they can be. Also saying the films should never be made for the fans is a bit cruel. Should they isolate the greater audience? -No. But nor should they be a slap in the face to those who have been fans since the beginning (some fans feel Bays movies are an insult, and some do not). But still, if you want a movie that really is a middle finger to the fans, you have to look for further than Fantastic Four (2015). I don't think any of us want that.

You bring up a great point. These films could be better and be loved by all. Just as the marvel movies are (by that I mean the Disney marvel movies). While they all have very competent directors, the marvel films have better screenwriters than Ehren Kruger, who is (oddly enough) the sole screen writer for the more recent transformers films.

Actually when the comics first started they were primarily G1 designs but as IDW and hasbro got closer, designs changed to better match toys hence why starscream went through so many changes in a short space of time. I think IDW still class the comics as G1 re imagined

True enough. The former comment just seemed to imply that that characters were Truly G1. I'd say like you they are -"reimagined", inspired, -esque, etc... as artists do take license with these characters.

I'd agree, but in recent years the self-titled series (formerly RiD where most of these pics are from), have opened up the "Original TF setting" to the multiverse, including characters from various different continuities. MTMTE, has done this also, although to a lesser degree.

Basically if I were an Original TF Fan, wanting to come back after 20+ years, yeah the characters would be mostly unrecognizable, and many of them are not from the Original TF Universe.
