But based on this new series versus the Prime series, Prime was way more impressive looking. I think the rings in the eyes worked in Prime but that's it, we got a new lame TF series in 2015...'nuff said! :VEHI:

They seem to be going for Tron Uprising's style, with cel shading and lower framerate to giving it a sort of motion-comic look.

I did not like that about Tron Uprising, and I certainly don't like it here. You're right, it's a major step down from Prime.

If you ask me, it means they can now afford to put more effort into everything other than the animation, which seemed to be their Priority One for Prime, and everything else suffered in Prime because of that.

Because limited animation worked wonders for the Unicron trilogy, huh?
Japanese TF cartoons don't seem to take themselves as seriously as Western TF cartoons (since BW, that is).

Maybe I should be more clear: No, limited animation does not mean improved storytelling, (Because the Unicron trilogy had none of those things) nor does quality animation mean the story will be terrible. (Such as Avatar, which had amazing animation and writing) Seriously, do you think that if the animators put in more effort, suddenly the writers start slacking off?

I just want to go back to the Galaxy Force intro. Till I heard it, I wouldnt think it was possible to stray that much from the original sound while maintaining the same words. Was it just me or were they going for a more urban feel? Good thing animated came and reconciled things.

Do you mean the Australian-sung Cybertron theme? Cuz neither of Galaxy Force's themes were based on the original English one. :???:

Yes yes, I meant the english speaking intro. I just use galaxy force because I find it a better and less confusing name to use for that toyline.

Though, both of Galaxy Force's themes, "CALL YOU... Kimi to Boku no Mirai" and "IGNITION!", were awesome too. 8)

I can't be the only one annoyed by this. Troy Baker already does an amazing Jazz in the Aligned games, why swap him out for some other guy in RID? It'd be one thing if Troy Baker wasn't in the cartoon at all, but to have him in there playing someone else is really disappointing. Sometimes I think it's only the fans that remember that these are supposed to be the same continuity.

To be fair, this will be the first time since Animated that Jazz will actually be voiced by an African American voice actor, rather than by a Caucasian voice actor doing an impression of an African American. It helps make the role feel more authentic.

But the Decepticon designs seem kind of random. They're robots, and they turn into vehicles, but their robot modes have ANIMAL parts.... They're all over the map this time out. Plus the overall storyline seems a bit too much like "Pokemon", with the Autobots acting as dog-catchers.

I'm disappointed, as this is a 'sequel' to TF Prime, that they don't even seem to be making honorable mention of the main human characters from TF Prime. Bumblebee and Raf were supposed to have 'bonded' in TF Prime and be bosom buddies. Yet it seems in this series, they're just pretending that Miko, Raf and Jack never existed.

The Decepticons look too goofy, and don't seem to have an air of menace. They also don't seem like an organized threat - just a bunch of random 'Cons they're using as a 'monster of the week' for the Autobot dog-catchers to chase. It doesn't look too good so far. But as I say, I'll give the actual show a chance to see how it shapes up. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

It's tough to make a new series a direct sequel as that might alienate new viewers. I hate to say it but probably the only way they're referencing Prime is by having Bumblebee and Prime being dead.

Episode List

Episode 1:
Bumblebee, Sideswipe and Strongarm follow the guidance given by a vision of Optimus Prime. From the planet Cybertron, they face a new challenge: Minicon Fixit's prison ship crashes on Earth, with the Decepticons prisoners aboard. Their stasis pods are scattered about. Denny and Russell are a father and son duo who live in Crown city. Danny's hobby is collecting used machine parts from a large junkyard.

Episode 2:
Bumblebee's team awakens the Dinobot Grimlock who fights and defeats Underbite. Underbite tries to escape to Crown City but Russell and Sideswipe use an aluminum car model as bait to lead Underbite into a quarry where he is defeated by being pushed into a pit. The image of Optimus Prime appears and commands Bumblebee to lead the team in defending Earth

Episode 3:
An oil tanker near Crown City is attacked by Hammerstrike. Hammerhead paranoia grips the seas throughout the planet. Bumblebee and Grimlock team up to defeat Hammerstrike. Strongarm confronts the reformed Decepticon Grimlock, mistrustful of him, causing Grimlock to leave.

Episode 4:
Chop Shop appears, having been stolen equipment to build a spaceship to leave Earth, lacking only the fuel to power the ship. Bumblebee is dispatched to capture him. Fixit's timely assistance allows him to defeat Chop Shop.

Episode 5:
A stasis pod is discovered near the Crown City Museum of Natural History. Denny and Russel, disguised as archaeologists and the Autobots in car form manage to obtain the stasis pod. The bull-like Terrashock emerges from the stasis pod. Bumblebee's team is exposed to the public during the ensuing fight thanks to Danny and Russell.

Episode 6:
Thunderhoof masquerades as a monster from local folklore known as the Kospego and commands humans to collect components to construct a space bridge leading back to Cybertron. The activation of the space bridge causes unexpected consequences, trapping Bumblebee and Sideswipe within the portal. Thunderhoof is transported elsewhere and runs into Grimlock.

Episode 7:
A bird-like Decepticon, Filch, is detected and is successfully captured by Bumblebee's team after some difficulty. Reality show director Denny wants to interview Larry LaRue, an antique collector but is rejected. Strongarm realizes that her teammates are more important than a rigid adherence to rules and regulations.

Episode 8:
Steeljaw secretly plants a Nitan, a louse-like device, inside Grimlock's body to control him. Grimlock is sent to attack a car junkyard and obtains Underbite's stasis pod. Bumblebee and Sideswipe manage to expel the Nitan and bring Grimlock back to normal. Steeljaw and Underbite manage to escape.

Episode 9:
While on patrol alone, Strongarm encounters Springload, a frog-like Decepticon. Springload believes that he is still on Cybertron and searches for the legendary lost city Doradas. Bumblebee, secretly tailing Strongarm, helps her to defeat Springload.

Episode 10:
The Autobot Jazz arrives from Cybertron to investigate the crash of the prison ship. The earthworm-like Decepticon Ped excavates the area near a scrapyard in search for energon crystals. The Autobots place energon near the residual energy signal of the stasis pod as bait to apprehend Ped.

Episode 11:
Bumblebee engages Quillfire in battle but is infected with a toxin that renders his intelligence at a child-like level. Quillfire later releases the elephants at the zoo but Bumblebee and Grimlock manage to corral them. Bumblebee defeats Quillfire and the toxin wears off.

Episode 12:
Two Cybertronian spacecraft land to the West of the Crown Forest. The Autobots pursue the Decepticon Fracture. Drift saves Bumblebee from Fracture, for which Bumblebee thanks him after the battle but Fracture manages to escape.

Episode 13:
The crab-like Decepticon Clampdown appears in Crown City's flood control channel. Clampdown's MO is to persuade others to uncover hidden treasure. During the fight, Clampdown is saved by Steeljaw and forced to join his army

Episode 14:
Optimus trains under the Minicon member of the Thirteen in order to better capture the Decepticons. The skunk-like Decepticon Stench, with the ability to spray an incapacitating toxin, appears, leading a gang of four. Grimlock, Sideswipe and Strongarm succumb to the toxin but Bumblebee is able to save the day. After the battle, Bumblebee reminds his team members of the value of focus and unity in their mission.

Trying to bring race into Transformers is hilarious. They're robots from outer space, Earth ethnicity do not apply to them the same way they do to humans. Even funnier when you consider Jazz only "acts" black based on his exposure to the media. You know, like a lot of white people do! Incidentally, Jazz is, himself, white.

Since Filch is a bird Decepticon, does she also possess a vehicle mode as well, just like all other beast-like Decepticons for this series? :CON:

Steeljaw: Troy Baker - Wolf - Wolf-inspired armored car
Underbite: Liam O'Brien - Dog - Cybertronian Vehicle
Thunderhoof: Frank Stallone (younger brother of Sylvester Stallone!) - Stag - Offroad truck? (based on the tires and kibble)
Clampdown: Jim Cummings - Crab - unknown
Fracture: Kevin Pollak - Cybertronian plane?
Airrazor and Divebomb (Fracture's minicons): Roger Craig Smith and Khary Payton - Bombs
Hammerstrike: David Kaye - Hammerhead Shark - Submarine
Chop Shop: Will Friedle - unknown - unknown
Ped: Eddie Deezen - Earthworm - unknown (BTW, it's from the Greek pedon, meaning earth)
Quillfire: Andy Milder - Porcupine - unknown
Springload: John Steven Rocha - Frog - unknown
Terrashock: Kevin Michael Richardson - unknown - unknown
Filch: Constance Zimmer - Crow - unknown
Bisk: Khary Payton - Lobster - Cybertronian car or boat

Funnily enough, this will be both of them's second TF cartoon, since Roger Craig Smith and Jim Cummings have also been in Rescue Bots, with Smith voicing Taylor (a local airplane pilot with EMT training who has caught Dani's attention) and Cummings as Colonel Quint Quarry (an eccentric, illegal big game hunter who has twice sought to capture the Rescue Bots and Optimus Prime in their Dinobot modes).

He was also Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 5 (incidentally the only person to play Chris multiple times) opposite DC Douglas as Albert Wesker, who is also on Rescue Bots.

Nice! It's great when all these actors overlap with each other across multiple works. 8)

I bet that's super easy for Nolan North and Kevin Michael Richardson. Also for Troy Baker and Laura Baily, who both seem to be playing catch up as far as number of roles go.
