Anyway, the first 2,000 orders will guarantee Grand Max is made. If it reaches 3,000 orders, then they will include the clear blue pretender.
and since the RID omega pprime is getting reissued maybe we will see brave maxi mus tooWolfman Jake wrote:primalxconvoy wrote:Indeed, but I can usually get them cheaper at Amazon Japan.

We'd better hope the demand is there. Takara canceled several proposed rereleases earlier this year due to lack of preorders. Grand Maximus is high price tag item. How many Japanese fans are going to double dip on the Fortress Maximus mold just for a straight up recolor and maybe a bonus pretender shell?
Glad to see we're getting Greatshot potentially too. Would it be too much to hope for a Sixknight recolor of Titans Return Quickswitch at this point, if only to account for all four of the G1 six changers?
I've got Titans Return Seaspray already, but Takara knows how to lure me in using my greatest weakness...animation accurate colors and details! I'm in! I'm going to get Takara's Topspin and Twintwist too, mainly for the Targetmaster figures, but I also because I dig their richer blue plastics and other paint details as compared to their (already very good) Hasbro versions.
Finally, I also just got my Legends Targetmasters Hot Rod and Kup today. Love 'em! The colors are gorgeous! Kup almost looks like he stepped right out of the original cartoon! The new head sculpt by Takara is so much better than Hasbro's offering. I appreciate Hot Rod's darker magenta coloring for better animation accuracy too. I kind of like the translucent flame effect for his hood as well. I'm still considering cutting out some yellow paper to place behind/underneath the hood to help give the flames a little more "oomph." The slight remolding to hide the engine block in robot mode is icing on the cake. Lucky for me, my Hot Rod doesn't have herpes lips, though the paint work on the face isn't as perfect as it could have been. It's, nothing terrible, honestly. Just a little unpainted plastic peeking through at some of the harder to paint edges of detail, like around the eyes and where the cheeks of the face meet the helmet.
I got myself a trio of Legends Sharktiocns too. They'll boost my Titans Return Sharkticon ranks to make a true horde as serve as some of the more "elite" members of the Sharkitcons, being the more cartoon accurate ones. The Sweeps heads work well enough with the trio of Titans Return Scourge figures to serve as the Sweeps for my "proper" Scourge, Takara's Legends version.

The Pretender Shell is indeed an early release of a PotP toy, but one we never saw announced or even leaked. The detailing points towards the shell belonging to Waverider aka Diver:
Transformers Super God Masterforce Waverider (Diver) Gallery
However the arms show the future Waverider toy will be a retool of Cloudburst:
With that out of the way, color me surprised with Great Shot.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

I feel like it's gonna be soon or truly never on that one. I'm sure it's not logistically trivial to do a run of these and while the tooling's available during the next Metroplex run would seem like the approptiate time for it to happen.megatronus wrote:Gives me hope for LGEX Metrotitan, some day.

Gotta wonder what Takara and Hasbro have planned for Crosshairs, Sureshot, Pointblank, Fangry, Squeezeplay, Terri-Bull, Go Shooter, Minerva, Hosehead, Siren, Nightbeat, Snapdragon, Apeface, and Scorponok (though I have little hope for Grand Maximus and Black Zarak considering no proper recolors have been done of any of the Titan Class figures yet).
Hard to believe I posted this just 11 hours ago ... and now we know about a Grand Maximus coming down the pipes. Go figure.
Takara, if you're listening, I have one word for you please: METROTITAN!!!!
