Hello Seibertron! I'm very happy to present my ongoing custom figure thread. I hope to update daily with touch-ups/customs until I make a dent in my years of backlogged stuff. Hardly a pro at this, but I'm nothing if not persistent in trying to complete my collection.

Figured I'd start with Tarn, one of my best projects... in concept, at least! :lol:

Began life as a TR Blitzwing from Ollie's, fitted with a repainted Loudmouth.

Nickel is the titan master. Knee paint didn't fare too well, though... I'll touch it up in the future. The chest shield is CW Blackjack's axe, and his mask is from 3-step RiD Soundwave. Various Construct-bots and lego parts (and an Octone's gun) were sacrificed to give him knee spikes, shoulder treads, and giant ankle-tilting feet.

Apologies for the blurry pic! Still transforms into all modes without his "armor", and the tank can get a crazy firepower boost from his guns. The various parts can attach to his 5mm ports and pegs for different vehicle loadouts, or can combine into a standalone "weapons rack".

Since this is the TR Megatron mold, he can be fanmoded into many strange alt-forms, including a very special one I'll share later. I headcanon it as part of his transformation addiction; using donor t-cogs can yield unexpected (and sometimes powerful) results.

Barely making it, but I have an update for today! Touched up my PotP Hun-Gurr to be more sunbow-accurate, detailed, and a stronger combiner torso. The purple is supposed to be energon smears, he's a messy eater!

Tarn's not alone.... another questionably-painted DJD member has surfaced! This is (a very, very wide) Kaon, made from PotP Jazz with TR Mindwipe's face, two nails, and a Construct-Bots wheel. Happens to look great with MP-10V's gun. A quad-changer, he can switch between standard robot mode, Outlier mode, racecar, and electric chair. My preference is of course for Outlier mode, but robot mode happened to be more photogenic. Shoulder nails have to partsform off for racecar mode, and the chair's armrests are combiner feet

Another day, another update! This time, we’re looking at the PotP Darkwings. Customized them about a year apart, Dreadwind in December 2017 and Blackwing in December 2018. Looks like I’ve gotten better over time, quite encouraging! Dreadwind was inspired by masterforce buster, so extra red was added in places. I headcanon their red detailing as “devil power”, as seen in Masterforce and Legends. Blackwkng took more after his packaging art and my other power master touch-ups, so lots of detailing and green highlights. Will update soon with the Hydra and Buster Titan masters and their prime armors.

It’s movie Optimus’s worst nightmare... SIEGE Vos! Made from Sixgun and one of CW Leader Megatron’s guns. Breaks into a combiner hand, turret, and sniper rifle OR rifle with tripod and turret. Fits excellently in TR Megatron’s mitts. More pics in the imgur album below:

Made this a few months back... before the Siege reveal. Despite the mouth I don't intend to replace him on account of scale. A straight repaint, "Springister" trades out his traditional gun-buddies for some sick twin swords.

Funny you should say that... I painted TR Gatoraider to resemble Fulcrum, and nearly went all the way when I got a spare TR Scourge... but made it into Devcon instead. If I make the full fulcrum, he will go up.

Black magic... AKA Sculpey clay. It might as well be, since it creates friction attachment points wherever you put it, but slowly weakens the plastic it's stuck to.

Probably for the best. If you're looking to mod Dreadwind, I'd recommend learning from my mistake and just gluing a 5mm peg on the indicated spot. Does not impact transformation, aside from giving the option to partsform that piece off and stick it to his chest.

Also, another update on Ironfist! Just need to pick eye and headlight colors, clean up a bit, and clearcoat. PotP Wipe-Out is in a similar position.

For Ironfist's headlights I would go with either pink like his original toy, or any of the following three: silver, light blue (ideally metallic), or light yellow. I'd ordinarily include white, but since yours seemingly is white... As for his optics, bright red seems decent.

On the subject of Wipe-Out..
1. Will you be adding the details found on Tailgate's G1 toy's chest sticker? Those would seem fairly important.
2. Will you be painting the smol Wipe-Out who forms Full-Tilt's head?

Even though you choose his colorscheme from the comics I think it'll look better.

"score"? I'm not a native in English, sorry. I guess you mean carving in grooves. Yea, that's what I'm a bit affraid of. Do you know a good technique?

I've already been looking a bit and found HIM a couple of minutes ago:

I'd remove his halo and paint the head - that's it.

But he might be a bit small for the body I intend to use...

Use a steel ruler (or failing that, some other sufficiently solid straight piece of metal) as a guide. Use the tip of the knife, and go lightly, deepening the grooves through repeated passes. You should start your own thread for this, we've hijacked too much as-is.

Thanks for the advice. I was already thinking of using a blade instead of my small drilling machine with a grinding head but I guess with small heads like those the grooves made by a knife will be wide enough.
