Ummm..because it kids would never play with it, right? It's obviously not for children...
When I was a kid I wanted my toys to look the real thing. Today I still do...
i agree. when i was young i wanted my toys accurate, and like you, that hasn't changed.
plus, kids/their parents will buy ANYTHING. first scenario, a kid wants a bumblebee or a prime so that's what they will get, otherwise, they'll probably just get whatever's in their hands when their parents tell them to "lets go!". i've seen kids walking out with repaints of jolt, the repaints of skids and mudflap.. like i said, they'll get/like anything.
if ironhide had the TWO decently sized arm cannons, like he does in the movie, a kid will probably like that just as much as ironhide having just one unnecessarily large cannon.
anyways, if ironhides fake bumper right under his chest can't magically somehow be lifted to go over his chest, that will probably be a deal breaker for me.
starscream looks decent for a deluxe, though i'm sure they could have spent a little less time designing that retarded weapon and spent a little more time designing a better torso. oh well.
this line is turning into a total bummer, sure some things look good. but it really seemed like they took a big step forward for the rotf toy line, now it looks like they're taking some major steps back. the figures seem a bit smaller because of the plastic needed for the useless weapons. and accuracy seems to have gone away. i mean.. has anyone seen the nascar? that's absolutely NOTHING like it looks in the filming images we've seen..
so here's hoping we'll get some great, ACCURATE human alliance nascars. .. i mean, they're going all out on all of these ridiculous weapons, yet the vehicles that actually have tons of sweet weapons don't.
