Rather impressed by the size of Hot Shot for a Deluxe. Still hate those arms.

Vector Prime is one I'll definitely want to see the physical figure on because he is not looking good.

Nucleus is kinda neat, but not crazy about the colors.

Well, now I'm really torn on Vector Prime. Not as good as the original, but I'm still on such a THEY-FINALLY-MADE-JHIAXUS high 2 years later that I'm tempted to get him for that reason. Hadn't thought of the parallels between VP's open panels revealing gears and J's open panels revealing wires, but it kind of works.

Maybe it's because it's been awhile but I still don't see it. Not a bad thing mind you, it's amazing how they can hide repaints retools.

I like him well enough and Jhiaxus is a brilliant figure to build off of but it mildly annoys me that they CAN give him a cyber planet ket that does nothing but CAN'T give him Safeguard! After the Hot Shot repaint, I'd hoped they'd figured out we want minicons with their bigger partners.

Ah well. I still have my Takara Vector Prime.

Now that you're showing this, the empty clips where the bat-wings should be are bothering me to no end.
They could have added some tiny wings, some canons, anything to fill in that space. As is, it looks like an incomplete/broken toy.

Magneous looks like cocaine, hopefully no one tries to crush him up.

Hot Shot is a nice sided deluxe, good and big!

Vector Prime surprised me with how good he looks. not perfect mind you, but I wasn't expecting that retool, and he looks pretty decent.

That is an awful Vector Prime in nearly every way. Save the $35 and put it towards the original. Would have been better off making a "Missing Link" style VP that just added a waist joint and some ankle tilts/thigh and bicep swivels/etc to the Cybertron toy.

I love that Jhiaxus mold and love Vector Prime but those are two great tastes that should never have been put together.

Yeah, I'm really struggling to enjoy it at this stage, especially after Kanra just pointed out those empty clips on the legs. Hopefully it's still early enough for them to take some constructive feed back and make some quick reworks like they did with Earthrise Optimus Prime.

I hope you're right but with the really right window between reveal and release these days, not optimistic. Though for me, optimism would be "they cancel it altogether and go back to the drawing board" which ain't realistic

There, I agree with you. Seems they can still wrench that size out of a modern Deluxe if they really need to; I was really worried about that, but seeing him be a bit taller than SS86 Hot Rod... it seems they managed to pull it off (albeit at the cost of a tiny key slot). I'm annoyed that they didn't fit the Accelewings on the clear yellow sprue, but other than that he looks pretty damn good.

D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Vector Prime surprised me with how good he looks. not perfect mind you, but I wasn't expecting that retool, and he looks pretty decent.
Here, however, I disagree with you hard. Being a Jhiaxus retool means his transformation is almost completely wrong and he's missing the backpack, and on a Cybertron character being way off like that is INCREDIBLY painful. And just like with Starscream (who was at least a new mold, albeit a waste of one considering), being a modern Voyager makes him a midget (the only Cybertron Voyager who could be adequately done as a modern Voyager is maybe Leobreaker, and even that's a stretch). The best I can say about him is "there was an attempt", and I don't know that it was an attempt worth making. This would be passable as a wallet-friendly SG Alpha Trion, but as Vector Prime himself... it's a complete write-off piece of garbage that belongs in the same reject pile as Universe Hot Shot.
They need to try again, at Leader size, with a fully new mold.

And I think maybe we should stop asking for more Unicron Trilogy remake figures, until they prove they can consistently do a good job.

There is no amount of "quick reworks" that can salvage that Vector Prime. Looks extremely wrong both below the waist and from behind, transforms almost completely wrong, way too small with pathetic wings, doesn't have the sword storage... They should either change the release to SG Alpha Trion, or cancel it entirely and put whichever suit approved wasting money on the new parts on two years' unpaid admin leave.

Despite fans that enjoy the original Vector Prime much more, IMO it's a decent representation of the original. But to not include Safeguard...WTF :???:

Well I'm sure it's a cost thing as usual, they didn't include Sparkplug with Armada Optimus so I guess we may see more missing counterparts as we go forward...'nuff said!!! :VEHI:

Legacy Wave 3 stuff from the stream:

Nothing much to say about Sideburn.

Nucleus is based on nucleon as his element, reflected in the silver parts. They wanted him to look like an old school robot in bot mode.

Cybertron Hot Shot was designed by Takara Tomy from start to finish.

Mark admits he wasn't thrilled with using the Jhiaxus mold for Vector Prime but was won over by the deco.

Pre-orders launch today.

I don't plan on newsing this, it wasn't all that interesting. The most interesting thing from the livestream was the Spacebridge mentions.

Nothing we did not already know about.

Still pre-ordering Hot Shot the moment it's available. You can tell this was a Takara project end to end it's just so accurate to the OG and the cartoon. Still odd the wings are red and not the same translucent yellow as the windshield.

Swoop, is apparently coming back in stock at some point closer to release which is always a good thing. Will order him then.

I may break down and get Vector Prime, he looks better in the photos and in the video, but that jet mode is just not very good. Nice that he's compatible with OG Safeguard and his sword ain't floppy.

Also getting Side Burn, even if the car mode is not a Viper. no mention as to why they chose to forego the licensed Viper mode. Maybe too expensive for multiple uses. I expect this mold to be repainted again at least a couple more times.

No interest rock car #2

Also interesting they did point out Leader Springer is just a beefed up Siege Springer in some way. We'll see what that actually means.

Interested in SS-86 Bee (Netflix VW or something else?) and Straxxus: Will he be a new mold? Or a retool? Don't think there's any mold out there to use for him, maybe Galvatron?

Some things mentioned about Nucleous in the stream is that while he's themed around Nucleon, the mineral he's modeled after is quartz. It was also seemingly insinuated that Nucleous and the other Armorizers are all "sparkless bots" with a hole in their chests to illustrate that, suggesting that they may not actually be sapient individuals.

Man just imagine being the poor guy at Takara being told to turn Jiaxus into Vector Prime with a set budget. I bet he put a ton of work and effort making it the best he could, knowing that no one would like it.
The result is rough, but I appreciate the amount of work went into it.

Also to the guy hating on cybertron starscream; Hush, that's a fantastic figure. Figures are smaller now, they have been since the reboot, but they are in scale with each other. Starscream is tall for a current voyager and is a fantastic overall toy. Please don't call for the cessation of Cybertron figures, I love them.

This, 100%. The most painful part of stuff coming out that just looks bad (to me) is also knowing full well that someone did their best under the constraints imposed on them by their overlords to make something cool. Sometimes, it just doesn't work out.

I also wish there was budget for them to let Mark tell the story in his head for these rock dudes in some capacity somewhere. A mini pack-in comic would have been cool. Anything to make what is, again maybe just to me, a tough sell design-wise more compelling. There's clearly a great deal of thought and creativity there not being communicated outside of the tiny bits shared in these streams.

I honestly love both Vector Prime and Hot Shot. Galaxy Force/Cybertron was the first new series I got into when I started collecting as an adult (had already missed parts of Energon), so there's some major nostalgia for me.

It's rather annoying then, that most (all?) of these releases are going to be Walmart exclusives and difficult to get.

Ah, thanks. I was looking at the 2025 leaks which include Cybertron/Galaxy Force characters and mistakenly assumed that meant some of these would be. Glad these two will be readily available at least.
