Whatcha' Playing Cary?

I like them video games 'case ya didn't know. I've been a gamer since the NES got it's vile dirty hooks in me in the way back. But I'm not here to talk about the last 25+ years of gaming only what I'm playing now.
I'd like to say I'm a pretty diverse gamer, but that probably isn't true by today's standards. So to skip some time I will just state what I don't play. Sports games and online games. Yeah online games are pretty broad, but I just don't play em. No hate, they just don't appeal to me. There are a few exceptions of games that have online lite, if you will. I've made a bit of a fuss of one of those games in my collection thread. I won't repeat myself; I'll just link you to that post.
Over the years and getting all "grown up" and due to lack of time I've had to narrow down what consoles I own. I am primarily a Playstation player, so I tend to focus on PS exclusives. I dabble in 3DS and would love spend some time with a WiiU (couch co-op is my multiplayer of choice).
So, what am I playing? Well I'm glad you asked.
Diablo 3 has been my obsession since it was released on the PS4. I've got a couple lvl 70s, a couple lvl 50s and a ton of low lvl guys and gals in waiting. I'm no expert by any means; hell I wouldn't even say I'm an intermediate player. I just enjoy the grind and the game play.
If you follow one of those links above it leads to Journey. I played through that again on the PS4 and wouldn't mind talking about that some more.
I'm also a PS+ subscriber, so I play a lot of games from that. I like the service because it exposes me to games/genres that I normally would have skipped.
Because of PS+, I am currently and slowly working my way through Styk: Master of Shadows on the PS4.
It's an OK stealth type game. I'm enjoying the dark fantasy aesthetics, but I've been playing this game since MGS1. I'm enjoying it for what it is and it has a few unique features.
I've got like the worst backlog on the PS3. I will probably never catch up and should accept that. I just recently picked up FoC on clearance and I'm playing through it again. One of these days, in my fantasy, I will force myself to finish playing Mass Effect 3. I'm not really playing anything on the PS3, so it really doesn't count.
My PS Vita has a growing back log as well. Mostly thanks to PS+. I am currently trying to get into Freedom Wars.
If you don't know, it's similar to the Monster Hunter type games. It's got a bit of a spin on a familiar concept. The short story is that the world is out of resources and the people are all considered resource burdens and have been imprisoned. You the player are tasked with earning your freedom by doing various jobs. A basic story to explain why you need to kill stuff. A little to mission only oriented for my taste. I like a more cohesive world and gameplay. I've come to accept different play styles on portable gaming consoles.
That is until I discovered Bravely Default on the 3DS. This game is an old school RPG lover's wet dream. Before I go any farther:
Let's be honest here. This game is Final Fantasy in all but name. If you played any FF game on the NES or SNES you know exactly what to expect here. Grinding and lots of it. There is a unique twist to the grinding game play; it's the titular mechanic. Brave or Default; "brave" allows the player to go all in a spend up to 4 future turns to devastate the opposition where "default" puts the player in a defensive stance and allows banking of brave turns. This can really speed up basic fights but can leave you completely defenseless if used at the wrong time. It's a great new addition to spice up what would otherwise be a pretty samey RPG experience.
Well that's what I'm currently working on. I'll post more when I start a new game or if something else tickles my fancy. In the meantime; have you played any of these games, what are you playing, got an suggestions?
Hit me on the PM if you wanna be PSN buddies and not play online together I make exceptions for D3
