Looking through the list of new Pokemon now Sun and Moon are out, some of the evolution methods do annoy me a bit. I don't like how Charjabug and Crabrawler can only evolve when levelled up in certain locations on the last island in the game before you face the Elite Four. If these locations were on the third island it wouldn't be so bad, but if you want Vikavolt (like I did) or Crabominable you have to wait until the main story is almost over. I think they missed a trick not having Crabrawler evolve with the new Ice Stone that evolves Alolan Sandshrew and Vulpix.
Speaking of which, I've been toying with new team combinations for Moon ahead of getting the game, I still want to use Incineroar as my starter, with Wishiwashi, Oranguru and Mudsdale. I wasn't planning on using Pikipek's final evolution Toucannon, but I'm impressed by its high base Attack so I might end up putting it on my team, especially considering most of the Pokemon I want to use in Moon aren't available until the second island. I also can't decide between Lurantis and Grass-type Nicki Minaj Tsareena, because they both seem decent.

"The Pokémon Company has spoken about the fact that Mega Stones for various Pokémon are not currently available. Giving an explanation, it then went on to say that the Mawilite and Beedrillite will be distributed through an entry gift for an Online Competition in late February. It is stated that the other missing Mega Stones will be distributed through similar means as time passes. "

Great, so I have to sign up for a battle competition (that I don't even want to participate in to begin with) to get a necessary item that should have been built into the game to begin with (or as least built into pokebank as a gift ), yet we're stuck with that pos festival plaza that takes up way too much space on the card

I think I've been more disappointed with Pokemon over the last week than I have over the past 20 years.

That basically summarizes my feelings towards these games since I've gotten them. They did a lot of cool things, but the story was forced (as in it keeps forcing you through it, you have no player agency), the characters all sucked, it was hard as balls to actually find/catch/evolve all of the new pokemon, there's no way to power level or grind for money, triple battles (the only format I liked) are just gone, and what is up with gutting mega stones and the o-powers? You know, the only things every player actually used and wanted carried over to the next gen
I keep trying to psyche myself up enough to get Sun for the exclusive pokemon, but I'm continually reminded that this game sucks d|ck and that I should just replay a good pokemon game like X where playing the game actually came first

Kurona wrote:Mostly I've seen people salty about it not being DP remakes. Which like Stars, was never promised to them by anyone but themselves in their heads but they're still getting pissy. Love the Pokémon fandom.
We're actually not sure yet what USUM are going to be. Could be sequels, could be a third version split in two, could be alternate universe shenanigans or something completely different altogether. I'm betting on (and hoping) they're sequels like BW2, but we just don't have enough information at the moment. Let's wait on corocoro and E3.

That's pretty much how I'm feeling about this. Would I have liked DP remakes better? Probably. Am I angry/disappointed? Heck no, I'm excited for US/UM.Kurona wrote:But I'm happy to wait and I'm certainly not going to get angry when the next Pokémon game announced isn't what I was specifically wishing for. This really stupid attitude of "hate on something not for its merits but because it's not what I wanted" got me to reflect a bit on our own Transformers fandom, actually...
