Becoming independent would have been the worst idea for Scotland since the introduction of tartan as a national symbol.

This isn't really the case, though. That people get horny is not a problem. That they have no respect for others is the problem.
I meant for the person committing the act. Basic human urges are hard to control and keep in check. Breathing, eating, having sex, and other things are simply encoded in humans as something that MUST be done. It's hard to go against it. Please don't misunderstand, I'm not in any way excusing rape, not at all. As far as I'm concerned rape should be punishable by castration, not just some time behind bars. And this goes for child molestation as well. And yes, breathing and eating are totally essential for individual survival, but sex is essential for the survival of a species, which is why the need for it is driven by genetics. Unfortunately, some people cannot utilize the socially acceptable ways to perform sex.
You directly contradict yourself by being empathetic to humans and their natural biological urges in regards to sex and say the only true form of punishment for rape is castration. That is an incredibly harsh punishment from someone who seems to understand that such crimes stem from a clear psycholgical inbalance.
They simply just need to be either removed from society altogether or "corrected" with treatment. Mutilation isn't the proper coarse of action.
There is no true Democracy right now on any country. The principles of Democracy have been corrupted, twisted and mutated into a false perception of freedom. There is literally no true connection between the people and the governments of the world. The word comes from the combination of the words Demos and Kratos. Demos stands for citizens and Kratos stands for state. It is the state in which civilised and political people participate to govern a country. There were no political parties, just political people. Every citizen was political. Heck, political means to care for the polis(city). Democracy works but it doesn't exist right now.

Truth? Agree? Disagree?

I know there are quite a few members from the UK here, I'd like to read your opinions.
