Real good series, I think some of those events were mentioned in future books too.

Yes but not everyone reads the books.......but most have probably seen the shows

It would be amusing if The Q who killed himself (Quin) or the ones known as 'Qtoo' (Q-2) had been on Enterprise that would have help placate the damage to the timeline a bit which would be caused - but then I've found getting into the timeline thing with regard to Star Trek can result in pages of back and forth.

thats easy to answer...........the "next generation" gap, pun intended.

starting with tng, trek fans got spoiled on decades techno-babble explaining every little aspect of a deviance, substance or phenomenon

so, back with the 3rd film, a easy made up "protomater" line was bought by fans, the same is no longer acceptable by the same fans

Picard's a wimp for letting Riker tell him he can't go on the away team missions, Kirk would never allow that.

Trelane needed a machine to work his powers though, so I would say he's eaker than a Q.

I always felt he only needed thew machine to focus his powers....remember, he still used his powers after Kirk destroyed/damaged the machine.

also, he was a kid.

in both cases those young Q's had an adult Q guiding them, at lease in part.

Trelane seemed to be left on his own.

NOPE

the Klingon language was created for the movie series

He had his parents. In the episode, he was just the equvilant of playing outside in the street. Then his parents came to take him home because he was playing with and annoying the neighbourhood cats.

Bringing this over from the suggestions thread, I have seen some of TOS and TNG, and all of Voyager. I have yet to watch any of DS9 and Enterprise. Are there more series? I don't recall any. Also, in what order would you guys rank the series produced so far? How about the movies? Starting with TMP to Into Darkness. And who played a better Khan?

sure, he had parents, that weren't supervising him at all. They werent even monitoring him to make sure he didnt get hurt.

so its conceivable such a child might have developmental issues

yes, the animated series

Also, in what order would you guys rank the series produced so far?

DS9
TOS/TNG tie
Voyager
Enterprise/TAS tie

How about the movies? Starting with TMP to Into Darkness.

The wrath of khan
first contact
the undiscovered country
the search for spock
the voyage home
generations
Nemesis
insurrection
the final frontier
JJ Trek
Into darkness
The motion picture
And who played a better Khan?

DS9 was really that good? I had my doubts, from what I've been told it takes place on a space station instead of on a starship. To me that made it sound a bit boring. I may have to watch at least a few episodes anyway.

And aside from Generations, I haven't seen any of the TNG movies.

DS9 starts slow, but I feel so did TNG,Voyager and ENT.

3rd season and down are the best of DS9
