Profile: Blindside is blind. He is also probably one of the most personable, amiable Cybertronians that anyone will ever meet. His honest and open demeanor allows many Autobots to approach him with their problems. Blindside always takes time to listen and offer any advice that he can to them. He always wears a smile on his faceplate, even on the field of battle, which makes many rally to his side.
While Blindside could take up a leadership position in the Autobot ranks, he chooses not to. He has a rather carefree disposition and shirks that sort of responsibility. Blindside prefers advising and counseling the people in charge, taking a seat behind the scenes.
Blindside has always been hard at work behind the scenes ever since he joined the Autobots. He worked his way into a position of respect as a tactician. In the early days of the war, Blindside earned his name for his unpredictable strategy and tactics, "blindsiding the enemy". When one of the Decepticons mercilessly ripped out his optics in combat, his name took on a much more literal meaning.
Blindside was commended for continuing fighting the good fight in the face of his disability. Over the centuries, he has had a part in the strategy of some of the Autobots’ greater victories, but his function goes beyond tactician. Blindside's charismatic nature makes him a prime candidate for the counseling of psychologically or physically traumatized Autobot soldiers. He deeply enjoys helping his fellow comrades in any way that he can, whether it simply be sharing a cube of energon with them or talking to the commanding officer for them.
Abilities: Blindside remains a fierce warrior in battle, skilled despite his disability. He possesses a magnetic rifle, which can repel and attract any sort of metal. It is highly effective against robotic opponents, but the magnetic charge can't last for an extended period of time. In his alternate mode, Blindside turns into AV-8B Harrier II jet, which is equipped with heat seeking missiles for aerial opponents.
Blindside's optics were irreparably damaged in battle against one of the Decepticons. To compensate for his disability, Blindside is equipped with a specially modified sonar mechanism. He projects sound waves outwards so that he can "see" his surroundings. The range of the sonar device is limited to the space that Blindside is occupying. If Blindside is in a room, he can only see the objects in that room, but he can see them from all angles. When Blindside is in the air, however, he switches to use of his modified radar, allowing him to see enemies even if they are quite a long distance off. This also helps him to avoid crashing into the terrain.
Weaknesses: His sonar capabilities make Blindside particularly susceptible to any sort of sonic attack. Sonic attacks blind him and subject him to intense agony. They also can immobilize Blindside for a time, depending on the severity of the attack.
